Chapter 125: Memory of Meeting a Bastard (1)

Chapter 125: Memory of Meeting a Bastard (1)

Medeia frowned. What did it mean? Wasn’t she clearly already in a hallucination? She couldn’t see or hear anything, so she was essentially detached from the real world, right?

Putting that aside, why had the temperature around her become colder than before?

"Ouch!" Medeia felt her palm freeze the moment it touched the ground. She lowered her head, noticing that the forest ground, once covered with mud and grass, had suddenly turned into a vast of white snow.

When had the scenery changed?

"What the hell ..." Medeia immediately stood up and hugged herself as the snow began to fall from the sky, touching her head. "Where am I?"

Medeia wasn’t sure, but at some point, she felt like she had seen this place before.

As the air grew colder, Medeia found it harder to breathe. Every time she breathed, her nose and lungs felt like they were burning. She then lowered her head, looking at her hands, which were slowly freezing as well.

"I... I’m in hell?!" Medeia clicked her tongue when she realized that the hallucination had brought her to the lowest layer of hell, the coldest hell that could peel the flesh from her bones.

"No, no, no." Medeia tried her best to reach the crystal pendant around her neck. But due to the cold, her hands kept trembling. "Jacket... I need more jackets!"

[Host, you are panicking.]

"Wouldn’t you panic if you knew your flesh was going to peel off because you couldn’t handle the cold?!"

[You are hallucinating, Host.]

[Even if your flesh peels off, your real body will be fine.]

Medeia stopped her hand and sighed. "I forgot ..."

The hallucination had only been going on for a few seconds, but she had already forgotten that she wasn’t in the real world. If even she, with the system, couldn’t distinguish between reality and hallucination, how would Lucian manage.?

[Host, you have to think about yourself first now.]

[The panther will manifest your bad memories into the hallucination.]

Bad memories? Which one?

Medeia had so many bad memories that she couldn’t remember them all.

"How much longer do you want to run?"

Medeia froze in place, instantly forgetting how to breathe as she heard that voice, the deep, cold voice that she hated and had cursed the most in her heart.

"I’ve heard a rumor that you want to claim my throne." He talked in a mocking way. "I know you’re a fucking delusional, but claiming my throne? Even the heaven will laugh at you."

Medeia’s heart skipped a beat, her pulse racing as the voice echoed in her ears. It was a voice from the past, a voice she had long hoped never to hear again.

"You’re not real." Medeia dug her nails into her skin to remind her that she was under the influence of hallucination.

"Not real, you said?" His voice suddenly became lower and scarier.

Before Medeia could react, she felt a cold, grip on her throat, squeezing, choking her from behind. Panic surged through her as she gasped for breath, her hands scrambling to pry away the force around her neck.

She finally could feel his presence. His body stood tall behind her, like a shadow looming over her. The grip on her throat tightened and Medeia’s vision blurred as she fought for air.

Medeia turned her gaze to the side, her eyes locking onto the face she despised most. A sinister smile slowly curled onto his lips, the kind of smile that could send a chill down anyone’s spine. "Didn’t I tell you to behave?" He said, "You’re becoming more rebellious these days, my Lilith."

"Get lost ...," Medeia tried to find her voice. "I’m not afraid of you, Lucifer."

"Really?" Lucifer mocked her, "But I can feel your pulse quickening." He leaned in, his breath cold against her skin. "Tell me, my dear queen, is the rumor true? Do you want to claim my throne?"

Ah, Medeia remembered this memory now.

It was a time when she had planned to rebel against Lucifer, to take the throne for herself, to finally free herself from his suffocating grip.

But one of her most trusted minions had betrayed her, going straight to Lucifer to report her bad behaviour. Every plan, every detail, nothing was left hidden.

It was her first attempt to betray him, and she failed.

She failed miserably.

Lucifer had crushed her rebellion with ease, exposing her for the naïve fool she truly was. And as punishment, he had cast her into the coldest hell, the frozen abyss where even the strongest could not endure the biting cold for long.

She had been left there for a century, isolated, frozen in time, her body and mind tested to their breaking points.

Her body could heal quickly, but the pain was endless, each wound, each cold breath, each moment of torment etched deeply into her soul.

It wasn’t just physical suffering, but also the pain of loneliness that torture her.

She had tried her best to forget about this memory, but how dare a mutant bring back this pain into the surface again.

"You have to be disciplined." Medeia couldn’t forget the look in Lucifer’s eyes when he threw her away like a broken doll, as if she were nothing more than a nuisance. "If you kiss my feet and apologize, maybe I’ll reduce your punishment."

Medeia spat on his face. "Why don’t you kill me now?"

"Oh, because it’s no fun to watch you die." Lucifer’s other hand groped her body like a snake trying to smother its prey. He whispered beside her, "I want to see you suffer, beg me for mercy, and finally know that you’re nothing more than a slave to me."

It was cold that day, but nothing was more painful than being treated like a broken doll that couldn’t do anything other than serving its master.

Medeia knew it was just a memory, something that wasn’t real, but if it felt so vivid, so agonizing, how could she ignore it?

She could feel his disgusting touch on her body, his way of forcing her to bend her knees.

She felt sick. She wanted to vomit.

She missed her sunshine.
