Surprise Marriage to a Billionaire
Chapter 459: My Daughter

Chapter 459: My Daughter

"You look like them. Exactly like them. But now that I’m closer..." Carla narrowed her eyes, stepping back slowly as the realization sank in.

Her face twisted. Her breath caught. Her eyes widened as if ice water had been poured over her entire body.

"You’re not Rain and Sanya," she whispered, her voice hollow.

Her breathing grew uneven. Her chest rose and fell rapidly, fury swelling with every second.

"Who are you?!"

She spun toward the door, fists clenched, her voice trembling with rage. "Where are they?!" she screamed.

The door burst open and two of Tim’s men stepped inside, startled by her outburst.

"You idiots!" Carla shrieked, storming up to them. "You brought me the wrong people! What were you thinking?!"

One of the men flinched. "They... they matched the photos. Everything checked out-"

"They’re not them!" she spat. "I looked right at them. They’re fakes!"

She stormed past them, pacing wildly, hands tearing through her hair as she let out a frustrated cry.

Moments later, Tim walked in, drawn by the noise. He barely had time to speak before Carla exploded.

"You let this happen!" she shouted, pointing at him with a trembling hand. "You said they were in the room! You promised me Rain! And look what you brought me!"

Tim’s expression darkened, but he said nothing.

"I should’ve done this myself!" Carla screamed. Her face twisted in fury as she turned back toward the two women, still tied to the chairs, their faces calm and unbothered.

That enraged her more. Without warning, she grabbed a gun from one of the men’s holsters.

"Carla, stop-" Tim barked, reaching for her.

Too late.

Carla screamed and pulled the trigger - once, then twice - her hands shaking as she fired into the fakes. Blood splattered against the wall, the bodies slumping lifeless in the chairs.

Lies!" she howled. "They were nothing! Useless decoys!"

Before anyone could speak again, the heavy crash of a door being kicked open echoed down the hall.

A man in black tactical gear rushed in, shouting, "We’re surrounded! The police are inside!"

Panic surged through the room.

Red and blue lights flashed from the hallway. The sound of boots thudding across the floor and voices yelling commands filled the air.

Tim cursed under his breath and turned to Carla.

"We need to move, now."

But Carla just stood there, her hands still trembling around the gun, eyes locked on the lifeless bodies.

"I wanted her," she whispered, almost to herself. "Not them. Her. Rain must die!"

"Go!" Tim barked, grabbing Carla’s arm, trying to pull her away from the bloodied scene. His men scrambled, drawing weapons and checking corners as the sound of boots pounded toward them.

But it was already too late.

Every hallway they turned into was blocked. Officers in tactical gear moved in, their weapons raised, shouting orders. Smoke bombs filled the air with a faint haze. The exits, every last one, were locked down.

"They planned this," one of Tim’s men muttered, panic in his voice. "They knew. They knew everything!"

"They didn’t just find us," Tim growled. "They trapped us."

Carla clutched her gun tightly, eyes wide and frantic, her face smeared with blood and confusion. "They can’t take us. They can’t!"

Up ahead, a silhouette emerged through the haze.

Alexander.

Flanked by William and several armed officers, his presence was unmistakable. Calm. Focused. And unshakably resolute.

"There’s nowhere to run now," Alexander said as he stepped into view, flanked by William and a full team of tactical officers. His expression was cold, unreadable, but his eyes locked on Tim and Carla without blinking.

Behind him, a police officer raised a megaphone.

"DROP YOUR WEAPONS! HANDS IN THE AIR!" the officer barked. "SURRENDER NOW OR WE WILL BE FORCED TO FIRE!"

Guns raised, red laser dots danced over Tim’s chest and Carla’s trembling arms.

Tim’s jaw clenched. With gun down, he raised his hands slightly and turned to Carla, who was still trembling, blood on her hands and the gun clutched tightly in her grasp.

"Carla," Tim said gently, stepping toward her. "Put the gun down."

But she didn’t hear him or refused to. Her chest was heaving. Her eyes locked on Alexander.

"You set this up," she hissed. "You always ruined everything!"

"Drop the weapon!" the police commander said, his voice firm but not unkind.

"Carla," he said lowly, trying to sound calm despite the storm closing in. "Please put the gun down. Let me handle this. I swear, I’ll fix it."

Carla backed up slowly, her hand tightening on the pistol. "No!" she screamed.

She raised her gun, straight at Alexander. "If I can’t have you..." Her voice cracked, eyes wild. "Then no one will!" Her finger began to tighten on the trigger.

A split second later-

Bang! Bang! Bang! Gunfire rang out.

Carla jerked violently as three bullets struck her chest, one after another. She staggered, the gun falling from her fingers as she dropped to her knees.

Her eyes found Alexander one last time, haunted, broken, and then her body collapsed to the ground.

Silence fell.

Tim stood frozen, staring at Carla’s lifeless body in shock. Time seemed to stop.

The deafening noise of boots storming in, the shouting officers, the metallic clatter of weapons - all of it faded into a distant echo, swallowed by the crushing silence inside him.

His knees hit the floor with a thud.

"No..." he whispered.

His voice trembled, barely a breath at first, then louder, rawer, as the weight of everything slammed into his chest.

"No. No. My daughter..."

He crawled toward her, hands shaking violently, the chains of his mistakes dragging behind every movement. Blood pooled beneath Carla, her lifeless eyes staring up at the ceiling as if frozen mid-scream. Tears streamed down Tim’s face, "My daughter..."

Alexander remained still, his jaw set as he looked down at Carla. William stepped beside him and gave a curt nod to the team to sweep the rest of the building.

"She chose this path," Alexander murmured.

William glanced toward Tim. "And now he’ll answer for it."
