Chapter 447: Breaking Point*
Chapter 447: Breaking Point*
As the last of the guests left, Rain stretched her arms and glanced around the now-quiet living room. "Wait... where are Dad and Aunt Vernice?" she asked, brows drawing together.
"They were just here a while ago," Sanya said, looking toward the hallway.
William came back from the patio and raised a brow. "They’re gone. I checked outside. Maybe they snuck away for some alone time?"
Alexander chuckled while unbuttoning his collar. "Wouldn’t be surprised. They’ve been surrounded by people all day."
Melanie nodded. "Honestly, if I just got married like that, I’d disappear too."
Ben, who had been sipping his juice in silence, suddenly grinned and said, "I think I know where they went."
Everyone turned to him.
"What do you mean?" Rain asked.
Ben shrugged playfully. "He’s been secretly working on something for weeks now. Said it was supposed to be a surprise for Vernice after the wedding."
Sanya’s eyes lit up. "Wait, do you mean the new wing?"
"Bingo," Ben replied. "He told me it’s a completely new master’s suite he had built. Said he didn’t want to use the one he shared with Madam Alexa, out of respect for both her and Vernice."
Sanya placed a hand over her chest and smiled. "That’s... actually really sweet."
William leaned against the doorway and muttered, "Well, I hope there’s a soundproof wall. You know how these newlyweds can get."
"William!" Rain and Sanya chorused, both swatting his arm as everyone burst into laughter.
"Alright, alright," William laughed, raising his hands in surrender. "But seriously, let’s give them space. Today’s their day."

Vernice turned to face him, her heart full. "This... is more than I could’ve imagined."
Rock lifted her hand and kissed the inside of her wrist. "You’re more than I ever thought I’d have again."
They stood in silence for a moment, their eyes locked—both of them still in disbelief that this day had finally come. Vernice placed her hand on his cheek, tracing the edge of his jaw with her thumb.
"Do you know how long I’ve waited for this?" she whispered.
He leaned in slowly, his forehead resting against hers. "I know. I’m sorry I kept you waiting long..."
Vernice couldn’t help but grow emotional. For her, this moment felt like a dream come true.
Rock was her first love, and through all the years, she had never stopped loving him. Still, she had always respected her boundaries especially when Alexa came into his life. It was an unrequited love, and although it hurt, seeing him genuinely happy with Alexa had also made her happy for him.
When Alexa passed away, Vernice would be lying if she said she didn’t feel a spark of hope flicker deep inside her.
A quiet voice whispered that maybe... just maybe, it was heaven’s way of giving her a second chance. But as the years went by, Rock remained guarded, hiding behind walls that no one could break through. So, like before, Vernice chose to keep her distance, staying close only as a good friend.
That changed the moment she discovered Rock had a tumor and that his days might be numbered.
It was then that she made a vow to herself: she wouldn’t let him go without telling him the truth. She didn’t want to live with regrets. So she gathered all the courage she had and made the first move, confessing her feelings and fighting for a chance to be by his side.
Rock’s fingers moved to the zipper of her dress, pausing to meet her eyes for permission.
She nodded softly, and he kissed her again as he slowly helped her out of the fabric, letting it fall silently to the floor. She stood before him in nothing but lace and skin, the candlelight dancing along the curves of her body.
"You’re beautiful," he murmured, as if saying it for the first time.
Vernice reached for the buttons of his shirt, undoing them one by one with trembling hands.
Her touch was light, reverent. When she finally pushed the fabric off his shoulders, she traced every scar and line on his chest with her fingers, as if memorizing him all over.
They made their way to the bed, every step a dance of stolen glances and tender touches. When they lay down together, it wasn’t rushed. There was no urgency, just a quiet hunger, like two souls finally allowed to meet after lifetimes of waiting.
His hands worshipped her gently, exploring the softness of her skin with a reverence that brought tears to her eyes.
It was her first time being touched and kissed by a man. Her body trembled beneath his gentle hands, every brush of his lips igniting a fire within her. Rock moved with tenderness, making every inch of her burn with sensation she had never known before.
All she could do was moan softly and whisper his name as he showered her with slow, affectionate kisses, cherishing every part of her as if she were the most precious thing in the world.
At fifty years old, she never thought she would still experience this kind of intimacy, let alone with the man she had loved for so long. "Oh, Rock," she whispered, calling his name as she pulled him closer, readying herself for their bodies to become one.
Her fingers tangled in his hair as their bodies moved together, slowly, rhythmically, as if time itself had paused to watch.
She felt him enter her, and a sharp pain coursed through her, causing Rock to halt in his movements as he looked at her, gasping. "Are you alright? Tell me if it’s too much. You’re so tight, Vernice," he murmured softly, his voice filled with concern as he kissed her face, lips, and neck, trying to soothe her discomfort.
Vernice moved her hips and pulled Rock’s neck for a searing kiss, making him groan against her mouth. That was enough of a signal for Rock to take control, claiming her body as his, joining their bodies as one. Pain slowly gave way to pleasure, and Vernice could no longer contain her lewd moans.
"Oh, Rock. I love you so much," she whispered, not knowing how many times she called his name or how often she expressed her love for him as her body reached its breaking point, convulsing in a powerful climax.
Later, wrapped in the soft sheets with her head resting on his chest, Vernice whispered, "I never thought I could be this happy again."
Rock kissed the top of her head and pulled her closer. "You gave me back something I thought I lost forever."
