Chapter 975: Chapter 824: They’re All Ruthless Characters_2
The due date is still far off, but friends are already getting restless, fearing they’ll fall behind and miss out on everything when the time comes.
Boss Cheng has already started making arrangements to buy organic formula from Germany, the kind that’s high-end and customized.
August directly said to Boss Cheng, "You’re going to Germany for formula? What’s that supposed to mean, if it’s not bullying? As if I can’t buy it? I’ll pick a few cows from the organic formula company’s dairy farm and lock them in exclusively for Professor Yang’s son’s formula."
Boss Cheng said, "You can’t just be shameless like that. If you provide the formula, what should I provide?"
Old August declared, "That settles it, you just take care of the baby bottles."
Ivan from faraway New Zealand was closely monitoring the situation and chuckled when he heard the news. "You’re talking about formula? Since when do Germans have a say in that? I’ll just buy the formula company and the dairy farm in New Zealand, and then what business is it of yours?"
Hermes, the boss of Changxin Mining, said he runs a gold mine, so he should give something special for Professor Yang’s happy occasion. Apart from the traditional gold bracelets and chains, he’d craft a gold baby crib inlaid with diamonds.
For the love of God, Yang Ping hurriedly intervened—it’s heavy metal at the end of the day, not suitable for babies; and diamonds, those granules, are you sure they are safe for infants?
"What if I wrap the gold and diamonds inside solid wood, would that be alright?"
Yang Ping was rendered speechless in an instant.
Huang Jiahui said she’d take care of all the clothes, while Huang Jiacai had already had engineers start designing a baby carriage with medical-grade materials, 3D-printed components formed in one go, heaps of engineers, a top-tier flexible production line—how could they not handle a baby carriage?
The news spread fast, and now the international groups are abuzz with talk about this big event.
Takahashi was extremely anxious and had to speak up or he’d be left out, "Diapers, diapers, diapers—I’ll say it thrice because it’s important. The diapers are mine."
When Robert heard that everyone was dividing up the baby’s needs, he said, "Alright then, I’ll take care of the little guy’s extracurricular activities—basketball, soccer, boxing, you name it, I’ve got it covered. Nobody should try to compete with me. I’ll arrange the coaches. Just try to stop me, kiddo!"
The brothers in the group were dumbfounded—who could possibly compete with him? All these sports stars around the world were his pals. Getting them to teach a class would just be a matter of minutes.
Ning Qi, the formidable CEO of Anning Group, had long been in the know. She said she wanted to be the child’s godmother. Yang Ping was at a loss for words—big sister, you’re not even married, and you want to be a godmother?
Ning Qi wasn’t pleased. "So I can’t be a mom to your child because I’m unmarried? Who says you have to be married to be a mother to your child?"
Alright then, you folks are all tough cookies.

The experiment’s progress was incredibly fast, moving forward step by step without any hiccups.
The muscle function tests had been completed. The muscle fibers’ contractions were normal, only the muscle strength wasn’t enough yet. But after all, it was a cultured piece of muscle—these could be improved with technical means later on.
Next, the plan was to transplant this piece of muscle onto a human body for testing, and only then did Doctor Tang realize they were dealing with real human muscle, necessitating direct human trials.
But normally, the procedure should start with animal experiments before moving to human trials. However, this experiment had skipped straight to cultivating human muscle.
This put Doctor Tang in a tough position. Was he supposed to go back and conduct animal experiments again? That couldn’t be right.
Finding the "Spatial Orientation Gene" would be extremely difficult. Professor Yang might have been lucky to lock onto the segment that happened to be the spatial orientation gene. Switching species now would, surely, not bring the same luck.
The only option was to apply for human trials, which would take an incredibly long time. Apart from the normal application process, they had to wait for the right case. But it was still faster than restarting the experiment with a different species.
Tang Shun reported this intelligence to Yang Ping, who didn’t want to waste time on this. After thinking it over, he said, "Alright, prepare for the animal experiment first, using pigs. I’ll deduce the pig gene segment and let you know."
Tang Shun came to Yang Ping to apply for human trials but, to save time, the professor decided to switch to using pigs for experiments.
Could Professor Yang deduce gene segments through logical reasoning that quickly? Or did he have some formula to apply, keeping it a secret for now?
Tang Shun didn’t feel it was appropriate to pry. Logically, it would take several months to set up the human trials and find a case, but finding the spatial orientation gene in pig muscle would take years, even with exotic screening methods as a reference.
Winning the top prize in the lottery once might seem impossible, there couldn’t possibly be a second time.
Yet, the next day, Yang Ping handed him a brand new piece of A4 paper that indeed contained the pig’s spatial orientation gene, along with methods to activate and deactivate it. Unable to contain his curiosity, Tang Shun asked, "Professor, how did you come to this conclusion?"
"Deduction and calculation!" Yang Ping answered.
Deduction and calculation? There surely must be some formula-like method that could pinpoint specific genes, as this approach seemed to lock onto the spatial orientation gene.
Tang Shun wanted to ask more, but then he thought if Yang Ping had wanted to share, he would have done so without being asked. Since he hadn’t disclosed it, there were probably two reasons for his reticence.
Secrecy or the theory was too profound, beyond his comprehension, rendering any explanation pointless.
Clearly, the latter was more likely. Perhaps the theory was indeed too profound, beyond his understanding, just like Einstein’s theory of relativity which was comprehensible to only a few in the world.
"We must prepare the paper immediately after the experiment concludes, so we need to hasten the preparations for our journal as well, including deciding on a name as soon as possible."
Yang Ping planned to publish the paper in his own journal, even if the first issue ended up containing only one article, he wouldn’t change his plan.
Dean Xia and Director Han’s efforts in obtaining a publication number were already bearing fruit, and the journal registration would soon be settled.
Dean Xia noticed that ever since Yang Ping got the Hongqi sedan, everything at Sanbo Hospital had been running incredibly smoothly. For instance, securing the publication number for the journal came with hardly any effort. Dean Xia, who had braced himself for a challenge, was surprised when all departments gave the green light.
The influence of the Hongqi sedan was indeed formidable! Dean Xia had to admit.
"We’ve collected a lot of potential names, but I still think Medicine or Medicine and Biology are more appropriate. Everyone’s opinions are quite similar. I believe Medicine is the most suitable. It’s succinct." Tang Shun was the chairman of the preparatory committee for the journal.
Of course, once the journal was officially established, a sign would be added at the main entrance: Medical Journal Editorial Department.
"Professor, are you sure you want to publish the journal in Chinese?"
Tang Shun wanted to confirm again because, after all, English is the mainstream international language, and using only Chinese would surely affect the journal’s impact.
Yang Ping nodded firmly: "Yes, in Chinese!"
"Do we need bilingual editions or dual language publications?" Dr. Tang’s question was actually a suggestion.
Yang Ping shook his head firmly: "No need, just Chinese is fine. The purpose of the journal is to record and proclaim scientific research results to the world; it is merely a tool."
"Understood! I’ll arrange a vote to decide on the journal name at a convenient time."
Tang Shun was ready to take his leave.
Yang Ping called him back: "Dr. Tang, there’s another thing. This weekend you have to attend a seminar. The Human Resources Department is preparing a love and relationships seminar for eligible young men and women of the hospital, and they want you to be the keynote speaker, to discuss how to love and choose a partner. It’s a benefit provided by the Human Resources Department to the hospital."
"Me? That doesn’t seem quite appropriate," Dr. Tang felt somewhat caught off guard.
"Absolutely appropriate, don’t worry," Yang Ping said casually. "They are all people with genuine needs. Try to give them some practical advice."
"I’m really busy at the moment, I’d need to prepare a speech," Tang Shun tried to decline.
Yang Ping was full of confidence in him: "No problem, no need for a speech. Just share your experiences, a few tips will be enough to benefit them for life."
"Professor?" Tang Shun still wanted to say something.
Yang Ping patted his shoulder: "Dr. Tang, we must be kind-hearted. Prepare yourself; I’ve already promised the head of Human Resources. Remember to make some time for it, think of it as a way to give your brain a rest."
Professor, you really know how to utilize people. Indeed, I, Tang Shun, have some practical knowledge.
But do you know that most of the single people in our hospital are female, not male? This doesn’t quite match up.
