Chapter 566: Chapter 561: Breaking through Bloodlines

"Boy, I didn’t expect your abilities to be anything but trivial," the Blood Python sneered after not managing to bring down Ye Xuan for a long while. He didn’t have the patience to drag this out with Ye Xuan—drawing it out would only attract others, making it difficult to seize the divine dragon blood later on.

Having spoken, he suddenly shot up into the air. His flesh writhed rapidly, much of it evaporating until he morphed into a half-human, half-snake figure. Upon his demonic transformation, his hands came together and an ancient, blood-colored light array coalesced behind him. With the light array fully formed, he brutally blasted it towards Ye Xuan.

Above the light array, the phantom of a three-headed ancient giant python emerged, radiating overwhelming ferocity.

"If I didn’t need a swift victory, I wouldn’t use this forbidden move against you. You should feel honored to die to this technique," the Blood Python said with a cold laugh.

"For the sake of the divine dragon blood, you’re really going all out, aren’t you?" Ye Xuan’s face remained remarkably calm in the face of the fierce three-headed ancient python. A glint flashed in his eyes. "But once something reaches my mouth, there’s no chance of spitting it out. No matter how hard you push me, you’re not getting the divine dragon blood."

As his words fell, Ye Xuan crushed the brocade box open and, astonishingly, grabbed the divine dragon blood and shoved it into his mouth, starting to chew.

"What?"

Not only did the Blood Python freeze in shock, but Lin Wan was also taken aback. Dragon’s blood was Quasi-Saint-grade medicine, with extremely potent medicinal power; it required the harmonization of other herbs to be absorbed, otherwise, Ye Xuan’s body might well explode from direct consumption.

"Ha ha, kid, do you think that’ll do you any good? In that state, you can’t absorb much of the medicinal power. Once I’ve killed you and drained your blood, the medicinal power of the divine dragon blood will still be mine!" The Blood Python revealed a cruel smile, urging the phantom of the three-headed ancient python to pounce towards Ye Xuan with bared fangs and claws.

"You really underestimate me," Ye Xuan retorted after swallowing the divine dragon blood. His skin gradually reddened as though a volcanic force was erupting within him. Then, with a swift movement, a resounding "boom" erupted as a colossal dragon’s head burst forth from the top of his head. A majestic dragon shadow, under Ye Xuan’s punch, furiously hammered towards the three-headed ancient python.

Boom!

The dragon shadow and the three-headed ancient python collided, creating an earth-shattering noise. The vicious shockwave swept through, violently shaking the entire mountain forest. Trees were uprooted as the area lay in chaos.

Two waves of light surged across the sky like whirlwinds, whipping up so much dust and debris that Lin Wan couldn’t keep her eyes open. When her vision cleared, she was utterly astounded by the sight before her—the ancient three-headed giant python’s silhouette had been shattered by Ye Xuan’s dragon phantom, and the blood-colored light array likewise disintegrated.

Puh!

The Blood Python spit out blood and flew backward. Barely given time to catch his breath, Ye Xuan formed seals with both hands, rapidly condensing two flames of different properties. They smashed into the Blood Python, exploding on impact, and drove him deep into the ground, leaving behind a massive crater.

"Let’s go!"

Having sent the Blood Python flying, Ye Xuan called out to Lin Wan, then retreated at full speed.

The noise from the earlier clash was enormous; it must have alerted others. If they didn’t retreat now, they would soon find themselves surrounded and under attack.

Swoosh, swoosh!

After Ye Xuan and his companion had left, several figures descended upon the battleground—Yin Zongli, Ao Feng, and the Shadowless Knife-wielder among them.

"A battle was fought here; it must have been over the divine dragon blood. Damn it, where did they escape to?" Yin Zongli’s expression was grim as he scanned the surroundings. The divine dragon blood was supposed to be his sure gain. How could he not be furious that it had been stolen?

Both Ao Feng and the Shadowless Knife-wielder now realized the divine dragon blood was not in Yin Zongli’s possession. Seeing him so frustrated, neither could help but feel a certain schadenfreude; it all seemed too unlikely to be an act.

Bang!

The ground split open, and the Blood Python, whom they thought had been buried deep underground, burst out of the crater. He was covered in numerous wounds, appearing utterly disheveled.

"Where is that damned brat?" The Blood Python seemed ready to breathe fire, fuming with rage from being beat up by a youngster and having lost the divine dragon blood he had guarded for so many years.

"It seems someone got there first."

The arrival of the Blood Python made the three bystanders wary. His reaction clarified that the divine dragon blood wasn’t with him and must have been snatched away by someone else.

"Someone managed to injure the Blood Python to this extent, who could it be? Could it possibly be a Half-Saint?" asked the Shadowless Knife-wielder with a look of surprise. The Blood Python’s cultivation was that of a Seventh Grade Demon Venerable; the one capable of defeating him must likely be a Half-Saint-level figure.

"Half-Saint? Impossible."

Yin Zongli shook his head, unwilling to accept it. "If it were a Half-Saint, why would they employ such sneaky tactics? Why not just take it by force?"

Half-Saints of the Spirit Light Domain were notorious figures of great renown, not one to hide in the shadows. Though they all came from major powers, in front of a Half-Saint, the influence of their backgrounds wasn’t one bit intimidating.

"The person is not a Half-Saint; he just has stronger soul power than me. It’s infuriating how deeply the rat was hiding," Yin Zongli uttered darkly.

Hearing this, Ao Feng and the Shadowless Knife-wielder couldn’t help but find Yin Zongli’s claims a bit far-fetched. If the Blood Python wasn’t even a match for the person, then Yin Zongli, with his power, stood even less of a chance.

"I don’t know who it is that possesses such strength, it’s a pity I didn’t have a few more moves with them," said the Shadowless Blade in an indifferent tone.

"It doesn’t matter who they are, they’re definitely a master. It’s just a shame about the Dragon Blood."

Ao Feng had suspected Ye Xuan, but after thinking about it, it seemed unlikely. Ye Xuan was also from the younger generation and his strength should be about the same as his, not enough to contend with the Blood Python.

"It seems that in the near future, a new young talent will emerge. Maybe we’ll meet this person during the preliminary selection for the Continent’s Son." A glint of anticipation flashed in the eyes of the Shadowless Blade, who took pleasure in nothing but sparring with others.

However, he wasn’t aware that the person he was anticipating would be the very Ye Xuan he had already encountered.

"Where is that Ye fellow?"

Now that the Dragon Blood was out of reach, Yin Zongli also remembered Ye Xuan. He had planned to deal with Ye Xuan after acquiring the Dragon Blood, but now, although he had no hope of obtaining the Dragon Blood, Ye Xuan was still someone he could teach a lesson.

"He’s been missing since just now, hasn’t been seen at all, likely has run away."

Lu Yuan whispered from the side.

"Run away?"

Yin Zongli’s face darkened slightly, his gaze flickering, "Search! Find that boy’s location!"

Right now he was in need of a scapegoat, and Ye Xuan was the perfect candidate for his frustration.

"Yes."

A cold smile appeared on the corner of Lu Yuan’s mouth. The Dragon Blood didn’t matter much to him, but for Ye Xuan, if he couldn’t take revenge on this ant, he wouldn’t be able to vent his anger.

...

At this moment, Ye Xuan and Lin Wan had already left the center of the Blood River Valley and arrived at a relatively safer area.

"I need to find a safe place to relieve the medicinal power within my body."

Ye Xuan’s face was looking a bit pale. The medicine power of the Dragon Blood was close to going berserk. If he didn’t find a place to suppress it soon, his body wouldn’t explode, but his meridians would certainly not withstand it.

"Okay, I’ll protect you."

Lin Wan nodded, noticing something amiss with Ye Xuan’s body. He must have lightly toyed with the Blood Python thanks to the medicinal power of the Dragon Blood. Otherwise, it would be too much of a defiance against the heavens.

Without further ado, Ye Xuan drew his sword to dig out a hole in the side of the mountain beside them. He then sat down cross-legged inside and poured out all the sub-dragon bloodlines he had collected from the Qiankun Ring, and began refining them with his True Yuan.

Hum.

Centered around Ye Xuan’s body, an array appeared within a radius of one zhang, with dragon shadows emerging behind him, coiling in mid-air.

Originally, the sub-dragon bloodlines Ye Xuan had collected were less than six types, but with the Dragon Blood, it was enough to compensate for what was lacking, skipping unnecessary steps.

Now, he was more than ready to attack the Holy-grade bloodline.

Roar Roar!

As the aura on Ye Xuan grew stronger, more and more dragon shadows appeared, roaring deafeningly. The sound of the dragon chant reverberated through heaven and earth.

Sitting in the center of the array, Ye Xuan had already completed his transformation. His body was covered with dense Dragon Scales and his back boasted vast dragon wings, which emitted a chilling light that set one’s heart racing.

Hiss Hiss Hiss...

Sparks flew from the black Dragon Scales, and cracks appeared. The outermost layer of black scale armor began to fall off piece by piece.

Crack Crack!

Chunks of black debris fell off, and in their place emerged a strikingly vibrant Gold hue. In just a few minutes, all the black Dragon Scales on Ye Xuan’s body had split apart, including his pair of dragon wings, which had completely transformed into gold.

Whir Whir!

The dragon wings flapped open, shedding all the black impurities. From within Ye Xuan’s body, an extremely pure dragon might also suddenly spread out. The oppressive force swept across, causing mountainsides to collapse and the earth to tremble ceaselessly.

"What’s happening?"

Lin Wan, who was guarding outside, was shocked. Feeling the violent shaking of the ground, she thought there was an earthquake. In her line of sight, the entire mountain where Ye Xuan was cultivating showed cracks, and rocks tumbled down, crashing hard onto the ground.

"This is bad, Ye Xuan is still inside."

Lin Wan’s expression changed. She was about to rush in to check when, suddenly, a blinding golden light shot up to the sky, bursting forth from the pile of rubble.

A Light Dragon soared into the sky, stirring up a tumultuous wave. As the light dissipated, a winged figure also appeared in mid-air, seemingly emanating endless oppressive might.
