Chapter 269: Chapter 266 Holy Daughter of the Mist Sea
Xuanbing Mansion, located on Glacier Island in the northwest corner of the Beichen Domain, was a great distance away from the Suspended Air Secret Realm. The journey in between was long and treacherous, requiring passage through some undeveloped seas, which were exceedingly dangerous.
The Suspended Air Secret Realm itself was situated in an area known as the Death Sea Domain. As the name implied, ordinary people dared not venture there. Without reaching the level of Martial Sect, rashly entering the Death Sea Domain was equivalent to walking down a path of certain death. With bad luck, even teams like Ye Xuan’s could potentially encounter danger.
Inside the sea domain, what seemed calm often harbored sudden storms, tornadoes, and various unpredictable dangers, including attacks from Sea Beasts. A moment of inattention could result in being dragged into the waters, leaving no corpse behind.
"Ye Xuan, this is your first time going to the Suspended Air Secret Realm. You must be cautious," said Qin Qi as she looked toward Ye Xuan, who stood nearby. Although Ye Xuan was skillful, she felt obliged to remind him as it was his first visit to the Suspended Air Secret Realm.
"Understood."
Ye Xuan nodded but did not take it too seriously. Indeed, it was his first time exploring such ancient secret realms in this life, but in his past life, he had already accumulated a wealth of experience.
Roar!
Just as Qin Qi was about to continue speaking, suddenly the sea below violently burst open, creating a towering whirlpool and an earth-shattering wail echoed throughout.
The seawater parted directly.
Standing on the backs of the flying Demon Beasts, the disciples of Xuanbing Mansion were shaken by the surge, causing their forms to waver. Those with weaker cultivation reeled from the turbulent Qi and blood, nearly tumbling from their mounts.
Splash!
A giant azure python shot out from the vortex in the waters, its body as thick as a barrel and fifty zhang in length. It opened its bloody maw and sprayed a foul breath at Ye Xuan and the others.
"Blind beast, daring to ambush those of us from Xuanbing Mansion, courting death!" An Elder with Sixth Grade Martial Sect Cultivation charged forward in the instant the huge azure python broke through the surface and sent a punch smashing into the python’s head.
Boom!
The forceful punch exploded outwards upon the python’s head. However, at the same time, a beam of multicolored light burst from the python’s mouth, blasting the Elder back in retaliation.
"Such a powerful Sea Beast."
Ye Xuan’s pupils slightly contracted as he stood on the back of the flying Demon Beast. This Sea Beast could actually clash head-on with an Elder who had Sixth Grade Martial Sect Cultivation of the Xuanbing Mansion, indicating a formidable adversary.
Rumble!
After repelling the Elder, a bloodthirsty glint flashed in the giant azure python’s eyes. Its enormous head re-opened, shooting out three colorful beams that streaked violently toward everyone aboard the flying Demon Beasts.
Faced with such an overwhelming demonic attack, many of Xuanbing Mansion’s disciples changed color. If struck by such an onslaught, they feared not even their bones would remain.
"Hmph!"
Just as many Xuanbing Mansion disciples turned pale, Granny Ning suddenly let out a cold huff. A blue iron rod appeared in her hand, and as her True Qi infused into it, the luminous patterns on the rod lit up, causing the temperature around them to plummet suddenly.
In that moment, Granny Ning’s skin underwent a startling relaxation, seemingly becoming much younger. She merely took two steps forward to the side of the flying Demon Beast, and with an apparently effortless swing of her blue rod, collided with the three colorful beams.
The once ferocious colorful beams, upon contact with the blue rod, suddenly came to a jarring halt. The next instant, the beams solidified unbelievably into colorful, iridescent ice pillars. Even the giant python itself was frozen into an ice sculpture, becoming like a piece of perfect art, now suspended in midair under astounded gazes.
"Let’s go."
Granny Ning’s face remained as impassive as an ancient well, as if nothing significant had happened—merely dealing with a trivial matter.
"So Granny Ning is this strong," Ye Xuan mused, his expression thoughtful. However, while he was in contemplation, a series of cracking sounds came from behind. Turning around, he saw a shocking crack spread across the body of the frozen python. It rapidly extended until the creature’s body shattered into myriad ice fragments, falling into the sea.
Seeing this, Granny Ning must have reached the boundary of a Half-step Martial Venerate and would likely step into that level before long.
After flying for three days across the Death Sea Domain, everyone arrived on a desolate island.
The island was large but utterly lifeless. The soil on the island was an extremely dark hue, exuding a sensation that was uncomfortable to the soul. Crisscrossing gullies covered the island like horrific scars, abyssal and bottomless, as if they were the gaping maws of the earth, capable of swallowing all of time. Wisps of black, decaying energy seeped out from deep within the earth.
After reaching the desolate island, the group didn’t stop immediately but continued flying toward the island’s center.
At last, off in the distance, they seemed to see a crack hanging in midair.
"This crack, is it the entrance to the Suspended Air Secret Realm?"
Ye Xuan looked at the trace that spanned the void, and also narrowed his eyes. The Suspended Air Secret Realm indeed seemed to float in midair from the outside, without the slightest bit of exaggeration.
However, this trace was not a genuine Void Trace, for the ability to rip through the void was possessed only by the Martial Saint Strong People.
This trace was merely a mysterious and unfathomable prohibition, and even the entire deserted island was filled with the power of the prohibitions, most of which had been destroyed, save for the entrance to the Suspended Air Secret Realm, which still existed.
"Looking at the signs of this crack, I estimate that by tomorrow, the power of the prohibition will be at its weakest. At that time, it will be the best moment to enter the Suspended Air Secret Realm."
Qin Qi glanced at the Suspended Air Secret Realm in the sky and could roughly deduce the exact timing of the secret realm.
"Let’s find a place to settle down first."
Granny Ning’s murky eyes twinkled with a sharp light, having seen that at the center of that deserted island, numerous camps had been pitched, and many people from other sects had already arrived.
Picking a closer mountain peak to set up camp, everyone began to pitch their tents.
The sky quickly darkened as they entered the deep of the night.
On the island at night, a strange wind blew, carrying with it some inexplicable cries that put some people’s hearts on edge.
If it were not for the desire to enter the Suspended Air Secret Realm, no one would want to spend the night in such a haunted place.
Inside the thick tent, Ye Xuan was seated in meditation, cultivating.
His True Qi cultivation had already reached the peak of the Second Grade Martial Sect, just one step away from advancing to the First Stage of the Third Grade Martial Sect.
However, Ye Xuan didn’t plan to do so just yet. It was known that the advancement of a martial artist’s cultivation was not uniform; some people accumulated richly before making a great leap, while others moved steadily, step by step. Some rushed to a realm only to remain there for a long time due to exhaustion of their accumulated resources.
Under the current competitive environment among geniuses, cultivation was no longer the decisive factor; what determined strength or weakness was a variety of comprehensive factors.
The current Ye Xuan, although his realm was the same as when he was in the Tiannan Region, a Second Grade Martial Sect, his strength had already changed tremendously.
Solidifying one’s foundation was the key to unleashing one hundred percent of one’s combat power and reaching the peak of strength.
Ye Xuan’s main focus still lay in the realm of Martial Arts.
The night passed without words.
The next day, as the first ray of light in the morning tore through the clouds and shone upon the land, the entire deserted island was immediately filled with astonishing noises of commotion. Beneath that crack in midair, there were already many figures floating, standing in the sky.
"It’s really lively."
The party from Xuanbing Mansion emerged from their camp, and then looking around at the figures clad in various colors of clothing, couldn’t help but smack their lips. The exploration of the Suspended Air Secret Realm was indeed a grand event in the Beichen Domain.
Ye Xuan also nodded impressively. Among those figures, he could sense many covert and powerful breaths showing just how many crouching tigers and hidden dragons there were. This trip to the Suspended Air Secret Realm was truly a gathering of masters.
Ye Xuan’s gaze swept across the sky and paused on the crack for a moment before landing on a group of figures bearing long swords not far away. These figures were few in number but all wore green clothes, radiating a sharp aura.
"Those are disciples of the Sky Sword Sect. Although it’s only a Third Grade Sect, its disciples are very few due to their stringent recruitment standards and the long history of the sect. Each disciple is outstanding and should not be underestimated," Nangong Yao explained to Ye Xuan as he looked toward those in green.
"Oh?"
Ye Xuan raised an eyebrow slightly, no wonder he could feel a swordsman’s spirit within these green-clothed figures. This kind of spirit wasn’t something that just anyone who wielded a sword could have; only pure swordsmen could carry such a demeanor.
This Sky Sword Sect was indeed interesting.
But after lingering on these figures for a moment, Ye Xuan continued to scan other areas, and soon his gaze landed on a group of people in purple robes.
The people in purple robes dressed differently from those of other sects, and the women all wore veils, each with no weak presence.
"Those are people from the Mist Sea. The one who leads at the very front is the Holy Daughter Yu Wuxin from the Mist Sea, and behind her are two of the Mist Sea’s Saint Heirs."
Ye Xuan’s pupils slightly contracted, before shifting his gaze forward, focusing on a slender, purple-clad woman. The woman’s eyes were very profound, and her aura was so calm it was nearly absent.
Mist Sea, one of the three major Fourth Grade Sects in the Beichen Domain.
