Chapter 125: Chapter 122 Secret Martial Pavilion Great Sword Scripture

Ye Xuan and Yuan Hao’s sparring had quickly spread among the disciples of the Yang Hall, and this piece of news undeniably shocked the majority of the disciples there, as the two involved in the sparring—one already possessed a non-negligible reputation among the people as a veteran disciple, and the other was merely a newcomer. However, the outcome of the fight was completely contrary to their expectations.

After this battle, Ye Xuan’s name quickly became known within the Yang Hall, and it even spread to the other three halls. In no time, Ye Xuan instantly became a sought-after figure among the new disciples, and even many elder disciples no longer dared to pull rank on him; their attitude towards Ye Xuan became quite respectful.

No matter where one was, strength determined status. Even though he was only a newcomer, Ye Xuan’s strength had raised his status within the Yang Hall significantly.

Regarding his growing fame, Ye Xuan himself did not care much, but some of the newcomers, such as Xiang Qing, seized the opportunity to form a small faction within the Yang Hall under Ye Xuan’s name; its influence was not weak, to say the least.

Ye Xuan, of course, did not pay attention to such matters. He didn’t have the energy to manage these things, and he also didn’t express opposition. Within a sect, it was inevitable for disciples to form cliques and groups, and such ethos would not disappear simply because one person opposed it.

During this time, Ye Xuan stayed in his residence to cultivate. After roughly half a month, he had finally reached perfection with the Great Jade Spiral Technique in his hands. His cultivation had also solidified at the Seventh Grade Martial Master level, just one step away from condensing the Martial Arts Golden Core.

Condensing the Martial Arts Golden Core was the most crucial step from the Martial Master Realm to the Martial Sect Realm. Many people transitioned to the Half-step Martial Sect Realm first because when the True Qi Seed forms the core, it forms a Void Core before it turns into a Solid Core, which is an additional step. Thus, many people only remain in a Void Core state, unable to be considered true Martial Arts Golden Core owners, and so are regarded merely as Half-step Martial Sect.

The quality of the Martial Arts Golden Core determines the potential for future development within the Martial Sect Master Realm, so many hope to condense a high-quality Martial Arts Golden Core and stay in the Half-step Martial Sect Realm for a long time.

This step needed to be approached with caution. Being overly hasty and making a misstep could impact the potential for future development, which would be a very costly mistake.

After half a month of cultivation, Ye Xuan planned to visit the Secret Martial Pavilion in the Yang Hall. Although he had many techniques at his disposal, the only Earth-grade advanced-level Martial Arts technique he had was just the Great Jade Spiral Technique. Skills like the Heavenly Water Palm Skill and Thunder Blade Skill were only Mid Earth-grade low-level techniques and lacked power in comparison.

Moreover, as a disciple of the Yang Hall, he didn’t even know a single Martial Arts technique from the hall, which was quite embarrassing. While it was highly likely that Murong Yun would teach him the so-called Nine Heavens Thunder Scripture, Ye Xuan couldn’t just sit around waiting for that to happen.

The end of the month was approaching, and by then he would need to leave the hall to complete the sect’s training missions. It was better to learn more skills beforehand for self-defense.

The Secret Martial Pavilion was located in the northwest corner of the Yang Hall, not far from where Ye Xuan resided. However, because of the surrounding mountains and complex terrain, some detours were inevitable.

The Yang Hall was extremely vast, with dozens of towering peaks piercing the clouds. And from some of those peaks, the sounds of martial training could faintly be heard, exuding robust vitality.

After traveling for about half an hour, Ye Xuan’s view finally cleared up. In front of him stood an imposing mountain peak. At the top, a massive ancient tower could be seen.

Surrounding the giant tower were thick clusters of red maples, resembling clusters of blazing clouds. At the top, floating bridges extended in all directions to other peaks, and at this moment, there were quite a few Yang Hall disciples coming and going. These disciples, upon seeing Ye Xuan, hurried to greet him, their expressions filled with a hint of respect. Clearly, Ye Xuan had now been recognized among the top echelon of disciples within the Yang Hall.

After greeting those disciples, Ye Xuan went straight towards the giant tower. As he approached, he could finally perceive the grandeur of the tower. On its surface were visible severe signs of corrosion, but this only highlighted the long history of the Secret Martial Pavilion, symbolizing the depth and heritage of a sect.

After briefly reflecting, Ye Xuan confidently strode towards the entrance of the Secret Martial Pavilion.

Guarding the Secret Martial Pavilion was a gray-robed elder with a goat beard, looking quite old, presumably having lived beyond his seventies. However, his eyes were still sharp and full of life.

"Are you Ye Xuan?"

After checking Ye Xuan’s identity token, the Guardian Elder’s eyes lit up slightly, obviously not the first time he had heard this name.

"Yes."

Ye Xuan nodded. By now, he figured he was somewhat of a celebrity within the Yang Hall, so it was no surprise that the Guardian Elder recognized him.

"Go in."

The Guardian Elder smiled and gestured with a wave of his hand. Ye Xuan took back his identity token and stepped into the Secret Martial Pavilion.

Seen from the outside as grand and imposing, the interior of the Secret Martial Pavilion actually had only three floors, making it seem rather spacious. But upon entering, Ye Xuan’s eyes were met with a rich array of Martial Arts techniques and ancient tomes densely filling his view.

"Earth-grade low-rank Martial Arts, Adorning Stars and Moon!"

"Mid Earth-grade Fist Skill, Ice Splitting Fist!"

"Movement Martial Arts, Snow Treading Traceless!"

"Mortal Grade Secret Technique, Yama Dharma Form!"

Ye Xuan’s gaze fell on each of these secret manuals, overwhelmed by the dazzling array of names that left him somewhat dazzled. The collection of Martial Arts within the Secret Martial Pavilion had obviously reached a terrifying number. Any one of these manuals, if placed in the Great Xia Kingdom, would be enough to cause a fierce scramble, but here they were merely common items on the first floor.

Browsing through the bookshelves casually, Ye Xuan discovered that although most of the Martial Arts here were of a lower rank, a significant number of them still required Sect Contribution Value for exchange, which Ye Xuan, having only recently joined the Sect, simply could not afford.

The sources of Sect Contribution Value were essentially from the tasks issued by the Sect or through making contributions to the Sect. Generally, a disciple would earn Contribution Value by completing experience missions.

There is no free lunch in the world, and the Martial Arts of the Sect weren’t for free either. If you want to learn, you have to take real action in exchange.

On the first floor, one could occasionally spot the figures of other disciples. These disciples of Yang Hall, upon seeing Ye Xuan, had a peculiar flash of recognition in their eyes.

As for these gazes, Ye Xuan didn’t pay much attention to them. As he ventured further in, there were fewer and fewer secret manuals on the surrounding bookshelves, but the rank of these manuals was getting higher and higher. Deeper inside, they were almost all Earth-grade high-rank Martial Arts; although there were some that greatly intrigued Ye Xuan, he unfortunately didn’t have the Contribution Value to exchange for them.

Before he knew it, Ye Xuan had reached the end of the first floor of the Secret Martial Pavilion. Ahead was the staircase to the second floor.

However, at that moment, in a corner at the end, Ye Xuan saw an ancient-looking secret manual on a bookshelf, placed by itself, looking somewhat out of the ordinary.

He walked over, picked up the manual, and immediately, three ancient characters on the cover caught his eye.

"Great Sword Scripture."

The cover was badly damaged, but he could still make out the three characters. What surprised Ye Xuan even more was that this secret manual, oddly enough, did not require any Sect Contribution Value to exchange.

This anomaly piqued Ye Xuan’s interest in the manual even further. Reasonably, any manual placed here was not an ordinary item, and the required Sect Contribution Value would not be a small figure. Yet, this "Great Sword Scripture" was different unless it was placed in the wrong spot. However, considering the ability of the Guardian Elder, it was unlikely that such a low-level mistake would be made.

"Swordsmanship is ever-changing, yet the way of the sword remains constant."

The ancient characters entered Ye Xuan’s view, causing a slight twitch at the corner of his eyes. His gaze gradually moved down, and he silently read through the content recorded within.

"The sword has its Dao, the Dao of slaughtering, the Dao of chivalry... With an unchanging heart, the Sword Dao is undying."

Continuing to read further, Ye Xuan quickly showed a hint of astonishment in his eyes, for the content was so arcane that even on a first read, it felt difficult to comprehend. The thin manual was quickly flipped to the end, but Ye Xuan felt something hollow in his head, as if reading it was no different from not reading at all. However, he vaguely sensed some enlightenment, some haziness, as if he understood it, yet didn’t quite grasp it.

"No, just one read is not enough to discern anything; I must go over it several times, looking at each word carefully."

Although Ye Xuan had exceptional insight and could often memorize things at a glance, after all, his cultivation was limited. There were many profound manuals that he still couldn’t understand—which was quite normal.

And so, Ye Xuan studied intensely without rest or sleep, going over it no less than twenty times. Meanwhile, the sky outside gradually darkened; it was almost time for the Secret Martial Pavilion to close.

Ye Xuan slowly closed the secret manual, his eyes brimming with joy, "Interesting, the author of this Great Sword Scripture must have been a swordsman of profound realm. Without deep research in the Sword Dao, one could not write such an enigmatic Sword Scripture."

He was beginning to understand why the Great Sword Scripture had been left in such an ignored corner. Presumably, even those like Murong Yun were unable to comprehend what was written in it because, at first glance, it seemed to be a hollow scripture with no content related to martial moves, thus making it seemingly worthless.

Only those who truly understood the Sword Dao could perceive that within the Great Sword Scripture, there clearly existed three extremely profound Swordsmanship techniques.
