Chapter 335: The Dark [Spoiler]

Lucinda, blocking the path of the dark ray of light, was finally able to make out the creature hiding behind it.

A black bird of prey with huge wings appeared in front of her, sparkling shades resembling flames. The bird’s head was decorated with a crest of black feathers, and it possessed incredible grace and terrifying power, which made it both beautiful and menacing.

"The Phoenix?" Lucinda said in shock, not believing her eyes. "The Dark Phoenix?"

A shiver ran down her spine. The bird in front of her was almost her natural enemy.

The Dark Phoenix, upon seeing Lucinda’s appearance and sensing the element of light she radiated, erupted in hostility towards her, and her entire body was engulfed in dark flames.

"Arabel!" Lucinda called out. "Arabel! It’s me, don’t you recognize me?"

But to Lucinda’s surprise, she received no response.

"So she still hasn’t woken up," Lucinda remarked, looking into the phoenix’s black, empty eyes.

Even as a Diamond-ranked being, Lucinda felt threatened by Arabel in the form of a phoenix, even though she was aware that Arabel only possessed Platinum-ranked power.

Unlike Sierra, whose true strength surpassed Diamond Rank and was significantly different from Lucinda’s true strength, Lucinda could understand Sierra’s playful nature. However, she didn’t feel like laughing now as she looked at the phoenix in front of her. She was serious and ready to fight.

"Screeeee!" — phoenix charged straight at Lucinda with great speed, surrounded by dark flames.

Lucinda easily dodged the attack and began to prepare for the next blow.

Arabel, still in her phoenix form, turned around and attacked again without hesitation.

Lucinda spread her two pairs of huge wings and exploded into a bright light as Arabel approached her. The light blinded Arabel and completely enveloped her, scattering the dark flames of the phoenix.

At the same moment, a huge pressure descended on Arabel, and something hit her from above, knocking her out of the sky.

After receiving a powerful blow from a Diamond-ranked creature, Arabel, in the form of a phoenix, fell to the ground with a crash.

"Screeeee!" came the long cry of the phoenix.

Kicking up clouds of dust, Arabel struggled to her feet and fixed her gaze upward, trying to find her target, but the bright light prevented her from doing so.

Before she could soar back into the sky, a bright light burst out from the ground, followed by numerous chains woven from the element of light. They instantly pinned down the phoenix, preventing it from taking off.

Following that, a huge ray of light rained down on Phoenix from the sky, completely suppressing her element of darkness.

"Screeeee!" came the long cry of the phoenix, which soon subsided.

When the bright light cleared, Lucinda found herself above the spot where Arabel had fallen. She saw a bird spread out in front of her.

"Screee..." — Lucinda heard the phoenix’s soft cry again.

"Arabel?" she called. The bird flinched at the sound of her voice, then turned its head and looked up at Lucinda.

"Arabel?" she repeated hopefully. The bird nodded, and Lucinda was relieved that Arabel had finally come to her senses.

"Lucinda?" — Lucinda suddenly heard Arabel’s voice in her head.

"Yes, it’s me," she replied.

"Ah... What’s going on?" — Arabel asked, her mind still in a hazy state.

"You’ve awakened your second bloodline and gone berserk. I had to subdue you," Lucinda explained.

"What?" asked Arabel, raising her head and looking around. Her gaze fell on the destruction caused by the fall.

"No one was hurt, was there?" asked Arabel anxiously.

"No, no one was hurt," Lucinda reassured her with a smile, looking at Arabel’s alarm in the shape of a huge bird, finding it funny.

"And Dan? Where is he? Is he all right?" Arabel asked, remembering that Idan was by her side.

Hearing the question, Lucina raised her head and looked in the direction where Sierra had flown away.

"Well, he’s fine, — Lucinda said. "He, like you, also went berserk, and the black witch went to subdue him."

Hearing this, Arabel felt relieved. Unlike Lucinda, she trusted Sierra more, so when she found out that she had gone to subdue Idan, she immediately stopped worrying.

"So you chose phoenix?" Lucinda asked to make sure of her guess.

"Yes," Arabel replied shortly. Then, to Lucinda’s surprise, the phoenix began to shrink in size, and soon a beauty appeared in its place, sitting on a pile of rubble and dirt. She had long black hair that reached her height, snow-white skin, and black eyes.

"Ah... Not again!" Lucinda heard Arabel’s desperate cry.

"My clothes have been destroyed again..." It was only then that Lucinda noticed that Arabel was naked.

"Do you need clothes?" asked Lucinda.

"No, I don’t need it. I have one with me. But thanks for the offer," Arabel replied, taking out a spare set of clothes and starting to change.

"It seems that Sierra is finished too," Arabel heard Lucinda say as she finished changing clothes.

"Shall we go?" asked Lucinda.

"If only you’d give me a ride," Arabel said, feeling a little embarrassed. She knew that she couldn’t fly in human form until she assumed her true phoenix form or spread her wings.

However, by doing this, she will destroy her clothes again, and if she takes on human form again, she will be naked again.

It wasn’t difficult for Lucinda. Using her Soul Power, she picked up Arabel and soared into the sky, heading towards Idan and Sierra.

"Are you saying that after we came out of seclusion, Idan and I started fighting?" Arabel asked, visibly surprised when she learned the details of what had happened.

"Yeah. That’s why we intervened to prevent you from harming each other," Lucinda confirmed.

"Thank you, — Arabel said. "Thank you, Lucinda, for stopping me before things got too serious."

"You’re welcome," Lucinda replied with a smile, pleased with Arabel’s words.

As they approached the place where Idan and Sierra were, they saw a huge crater. Both of them immediately realized that a battle had taken place here, just like at their place.

Then their attention was attracted by a two-and-a-half-meter-tall creature emitting some kind of glow.

When they reached the bottom, they froze, amazed at Idan’s new appearance.

Lucinda, seeing him, momentarily forgot how to breathe. She was struck by the intensity of the element of Light that seemed to hit her.

Arabel, seeing Idan for the first time, felt something stir inside her, and she began to dislike him.

She quickly pulled herself together and, shaking her head, realized that her new bloodline, like her first one, was beginning to affect her.

If her first bloodline calmed down from the warmth coming from Idan’s first bloodline and reached out to her, then the second bloodline was completely the opposite. Her second bloodline rejected Idan’s second bloodline.

At that moment, Idan was experiencing similar feelings. His new bloodline seemed to reject and hate Arabel’s new bloodline.
