Chapter 2080: Let’s become terrorists.

"The Leander Family will be highlighted.

The Supreme Worlds will declare you people as enemies and...

Vexarion will no longer believe you."

Sharnoth spoke with a grim look on her face.

"Yes."

Nux nodded at those words. His expression was similar to Sharnoth’s.

"It will take a day before we are declared as their enemies, so we need to act before that."

He spoke.

"Have you thought of a way to stop this?"

Sharnoth questioned, and Nux shook his head.

"We have nothing till now."

Nux then passed a wry smile and,

"I am still cursing our luck. If only this had happened a few days later."

At those words, Sharnoth frowned,

"...what would have changed in a few days?"

She could not understand.

It wasn’t like the Leander Family could have gotten strong enough to take on the Supreme Worlds within just a few days. If that was possible, all of this wouldn’t have been a problem in the first place.

"What do you mean? If this didn’t happen, we could have killed Vexarion two days later."

Nux answered.

"Huh?"

Sharnoth frowned.

"Huh?"

And Nux was the same.

The two stared at each other in confusion, and then—

"You are still worried about killing Vexarion?"

Sharnoth raised her eyebrow.

"I did promise you your revenge, didn’t I?"

Nux answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"The Supreme Worlds are going to come after you and you are worried about keeping your promise?"

Sharnoth questioned, and for an instant, Nux turned silent.

Just what in the hell...

Soon, however, he realized something.

Sharnoth, she had been betrayed so many times, that she never expected the help in the first place.

Sure, the recording and everything Nux did so far gave her a sliver of hope, hope that something might happen, but the instant she realized that the Supreme Worlds were after Nux and the Leander Family, that hope was gone.

He already had so much to deal with, how is he going to help me?

It was a simple, even logical thought process, but...

It felt pitiful.

For a moment, Nux just stared at this woman in front of him—a woman who knew she wouldn’t survive long now that she had revealed the Power of Chaos, yet the only thing that kept her going was her wish for revenge, and now, even the hope of that long wished revenge was gone.

In the end, Nux heaved a big sigh and,

"The Supreme Worlds were going to become our enemies anyways. This isn’t about the Supreme Worlds coming after us. They cannot harm us, at least not till we try to actively fight them."

He spoke carefully. His words made Sharnoth blink in surprise.

Just what sort of confidence does one need to say such words out loud?

Oblivious to her thoughts, Nux continued,

"Supreme Worlds do not matter.

This is about Vexarion. The moment this happens, he will once again hide in that shell of yours.

No, actually, he would reveal that you and the Leander Family are working together, and the Supreme Worlds will come look for you instead."

"I am not scared of them."

Sharnoth declared without missing a beat.

"Aren’t you scared of not being able to take your revenge?"

"..."

At those words, Sharnoth turned silent.

She had already lost her will to get revenge, especially after everything that was happening. It felt like the very Universe was against her getting her revenge. She felt... powerless.

But...

"Don’t worry. You will have your revenge. I will not go back on my words. I just need some time to think."

Nux spoke, and seeing the look on his face,

The sliver of hope that had just died reignited.

For some reason, when she saw Nux still thinking about different ways to kill Vexarion, even in the face of the Supreme Worlds, she felt like this was actually possible.

"There is a way to kill him."

Suddenly, Amaya, who had been silent all this while, spoke up, instantly attracting all the attention. Sharnoth frowned. After all, she could only see Nux on the screen.

Nux realized it as well,

"Right, I still haven’t introduced you to the most precious people in my life, have I?"

He smiled as suddenly, the screen Sharnoth was seeing widened, revealing nineteen beautiful women standing beside Nux.

"These are my wives."

Nux spoke with a smile so big that it made Sharnoth freeze.

"They are the people I fight for, people I could do anything for, people I wish to spend the rest of Eternity with.

She is..."

One by one, Nux started introducing all his wives. The smile on his face when he talked about them was so pure that it felt like his previous frown was just an illusion.

In her mind, Sharnoth felt like every time she saw this man smile, it was merely an act, because none of his smiles ever got close to what she was seeing right now.

It stirred a... strange emotion inside her.

She felt... jealous?

Of course, as soon as that thought appeared, she suppressed it in an instant and greeted those women politely.

The women smiled at her, especially the white-haired succubus. She... she was looking at her with a strange smile on her face.

Almost as if... she was looking at prey.

It made Sharnoth feel somewhat uncomfortable, but she didn’t say anything out loud and decided to ignore her for now.

Seeing her reaction, Allura just chuckled. She gently patted her belly without saying anything else.

"Now, the one who said there is a way to kill Vexarion—this is Amaya. She is my little strategist, someone I can trust with my eyes closed."

Nux introduced with a big smile, oblivious to the little exchange between Sharnoth and his Allura.

His focus was on Amaya. The devourer, however, stared at him and spoke directly,

"As I was saying, I have a way to kill him, but you will not like it."

"What? Why?"

Nux frowned.

"It will be painless."

Amaya shrugged.

She knew her man.

She knew what he was planning. The last thing in Nux’s mind was giving Vexarion an easy death. Knowing Nux, this was actually a gift to Vexarion, not a punishment.

And just as Amaya thought, the instant he heard those words, Nux scowled, even more than Sharnoth herself. It was almost as if he wanted to torture that bastard more than Sharnoth.

"What is the way?"

Unable to control herself, Sharnoth questioned, looking at Amaya. She had noticed the woman glaring at her before, as if she was her most hated enemy. She did not understand why, but for now, she knew she needed to focus on what was more important.

"We can use the Universe."

Amaya answered, looking at Nux, knowing that he would understand what she was talking about.

After all, they had done this before.

"Using the Universe...?"

Of course, Sharnoth had no clue what the woman was talking about.

"Do you think it would work?"

Nux questioned.

"The Universe is angry because it was fooled, wasn’t it? If we act quickly enough, we can use that anger and direct it towards Aurendor."

Amaya answered.

"It could work... but there is no guarantee that Vexarion will die."

Nux muttered, nodding at her words.

"Isn’t that even better? With Aurendor gone, he would no longer have the shell to hide in. We can then do whatever we desire."

A smile appeared on Nux’s face when he heard those words.

"But this means we would be leaving it to chance, and we stand at the lower side of the probability. It is much more likely that he will die painlessly."

Amaya explained, and honestly, Nux wasn’t very fond of the idea. It left things to luck, and considering everything that had been happening, Lady Luck wasn’t exactly on his side.

"..."

While the two conversed, Sharnoth stared at them in silence.

She felt... alienated.

Like she wasn’t part of the discussion. The distance between Nux and her felt larger than usual, and for some reason, every time she stared at the woman named Amaya, she had this strange feeling that the woman knew exactly what she was feeling and was enjoying it.

Almost as if... she was making a statement.

It was quite confusing, especially considering Sharnoth had never felt like this before.

"We need something else..."

And again, while Sharnoth explored all these new, frustrating emotions, Nux muttered out loud, lowering his head.

He needed a better plan.

"What if we try and buy more time?"

Suddenly, Melia spoke up.

"Hmm?"

Nux turned towards her and the Vampire continued,

"We can destroy Nexus and the Fortune’s Call.

That should buy us some time."

"But that will only bring more focus to Mercenary Guilds present in Nexus. It wouldn’t be long before information that the Fortune’s Call had was extracted. This might actually hasten the entire process."

Ember shook her head.

Melia thought about it for a moment, then,

"Let’s become terrorists."

The Vampire suggested.
