Supreme Electromagnetic Tyrant -
Chapter 738 - 449: Illusion and Reality
Chapter 738: Chapter 449: Illusion and Reality
Five days later.
In a vast forest within the high latitude areas of Black Ring Star’s northern hemisphere, Ji Xinghuo sat under a large tree, his body hidden in the shadows, his breath sealed.
The sky was overcast, the sun was about to set, and the temperature was dropping lower and lower.
Over the past few days, Ji Xinghuo had been stealthily traveling, avoiding Black Ring Star’s popular hunting spots as well as various strongholds and bases, and finally arrived here, about 2000 kilometers from the Arctic Transfer Station.
Although he had not contacted anyone, nor had he encountered any hunters.
However, Ji Xinghuo had distinctly noticed the anomalies on Black Ring Star. The shuttles and transport aircraft flying across the sky carried many unidentified people, who were obviously not the regular hunters of Black Ring Star.
Those strongholds and bases, the Rock King family’s guards maintained a semblance of normalcy on the surface, but had heightened their alertness in secret.
The Rock King family truly had issues!
Ji Xinghuo was glad his judgment was correct, or else if he had blundered into the enemy’s net, the consequences would have been unpredictable.
At that moment, another shuttle flew overhead in the high skies.
"That’s the sixth one today."
Ji Xinghuo’s gaze pierced through the dim tree shade, looking up at the thousands of meters high sky, as the shuttle disappeared into the horizon.
This was the sixth shuttle that had passed overhead today.
Such a high frequency indicated that the Rock King family had intensified their search efforts.
Despite the fact that he couldn’t directly see the satellites in the low orbit, Ji Xinghuo could guess that the monitoring satellites spread out in outer space had definitely entered their highest working state in these days, scanning the surface of Black Ring Star around the clock.
"They must be getting anxious for not finding me," Ji Xinghuo thought silently, the Rock King family’s actions couldn’t possibly last for too long.
The key point was, any further delay might alarm the Titanium Cobalt Dragon King.
"Let’s add some fuel to the fire."
"And take the chance to probe the reality of the Star Gate."
Ji Xinghuo stood up under the tree, his appearance and stature beginning to change. Within a few seconds, he transformed into a reddish-skinned Dan person, then changed into ordinary weapon equipment, and invested 1000 Star Power to create a Shadow Clone.
Then he changed again, swapping equipment and creating a second Shadow Clone.
Four times in succession.
Utilizing the functionality of the Deception Mask, combined with Shadow Clones, Ji Xinghuo assembled a four-person hunting team.
This hunting team truly existed, having appeared recently in the Silent Wilderness, but unfortunately, they encountered a Flood Level Earth Devouring Worm and all perished in the beast’s mouth. Ji Xinghuo killed the Earth Devouring Worm, avenging them in the process.
He had conveniently collected their weapon equipment, which now came in handy.
Four Shadow Clones set off.
At daybreak.
They wearily entered a stronghold over a thousand kilometers to the south, summoned a transport craft through their personal terminals, and boarded it.
Simultaneously, Ji Xinghuo created a fifth Shadow Clone, disguised as a Deserted Person boarding the transport from an even more distant stronghold.
Two groups of Shadow Clones, one after the other, arrived at the Arctic Transfer Station.
Everything at the transfer station was normal.
People came and went, hunters frequented the bars, inns, and shops, and the Space Elevator was operating as usual.
However, through the eyes of his Shadow Clones, Ji Xinghuo could see through the calm surface to the undercurrents swirling beneath.
The inspection at the entrance of the Space Elevator became stricter and more detailed.
Nearly every hunter was questioned, identities verified, and as they passed through the scanning devices, there were Dragon Guards skilled in recognizing disguises and illusions, their gazes sweeping over and discerning the hunters.
The entire Arctic Transfer Station was under the coverage of several different Perception methods, invisibly sweeping over everyone in secret.
The five Shadow Clones made no rash moves, each active within the transfer station.
The lone Deserted Person checked into an inn.
The four-person group, carrying a stock of Alien Species, sold them to a shop, then purchased supplies, maintained their weapon equipment, and checked into another hotel. After washing up, they gathered to eat and drink together, looking every bit a legitimate hunting team.
Only after several hours of rest did they head towards the entrance of the Space Elevator.
By that time, other hunters were already queuing up.
The line moved slowly forward.
Those at the front passed the checks, filling up a quota for the Space Elevator, its cabin doors about to close.
Just as it was the turn of the four Shadow Clones, the guards checked their identities.
"Take them down!"
A voice suddenly rang out from a nearby bastion beside the checkpoint, shouting loudly, "Their identities are problematic!"
But as the voice sounded, the four Shadow Clones had already made their move first.
Darkness enveloped everything!
The entire Space Elevator platform and half of the transfer station plunged into complete darkness, as if all light had been devoured. Even though many Mutants could perceive enemies and movements without relying on vision, it still caused chaos.
In the darkness, there were sounds of intense commotion, electric discharges, explosions, the clashing of weapons, and the screams of the guards.
Several Sixth Rank Peak strong essences burst forth.
When darkness was dispelled and light returned, the entrance to the Space Elevator was in total disarray, the ground pocked and uneven, with dozens of guards lying on the ground, their armors shattered and bodies scorched by electricity, many critically injured and on the brink of death.
Fortunately, the Space Elevator was not damaged and still operated normally, the cabin that had just departed soaring into the high skies amidst the chaos.
Three Sixth Rank experts looked at each other in disbelief.
The attackers of the guards were nowhere to be seen. With their keen eyesight, it was clear to them that those four were Shadow Clones.
After executing their full-powered attacks, the Shadow Clones dispersed.
"Report this upwards."
The leader of the Rock King Dragons said.
The other two were somewhat baffled, having originally thought the sudden tightening of access to Black Ring Star was just a routine check, but it turned out to be real trouble.
"These days we’ve been searching the entirety of Black Ring Star for the original body of the Shadow Clone, right?" a Mutant asked. "Who is he?"
"Don’t ask about things you shouldn’t be asking about," the Rock King Dragon Lord scolded sharply.
"Understood."
The two Sixth Rank powerhouses exchanged glances, realizing there was more to this situation than met the eye.
Nobody noticed, as the space elevator car ascended, that in the moment before the door closed, a stream-like shadow took advantage of the chaos and darkness, slipping into the elevator and clinging to the underside of one of the passenger seats.
In this batch of passengers, the strongest was only Legendary, and no one noticed the unexpected guest in the elevator.
The elevator soared through the atmosphere like a rocket.
More than two hours later, the elevator arrived in outer space above the North Pole and slowed to dock at the Circular Space Station.
As the passengers stepped out, they found a large number of guards waiting in tight formation, learning that another identity verification was required. Everyone grumbled, but no one dared to resist and cause trouble, accepting the check honestly one by one.
Suddenly, a mass of shadow on the ground seemed to come alive.
Everyone felt a terrifying aura and staggered back, subsequently seeing the shadow rapidly expand and burst into dark golden radiance.
A dragon silhouette appeared.
This dragon was not large, only ten meters long, with a slender and elegant body, narrow and agile wings, and dark golden scales covering its body. Its eyes were authoritative, and seated on its back was a Dragon Lord with a stern face, his skin flashing silvery light, electricity dancing in his eyes, exuding unparalleled dominance.
"Annihilation Dragon!"
"It’s Annihilation Jin!"
The surrounding Hunters recognized who it was and let out exclamations.
Not long ago, the Destructive Dragon Festival gave birth to the most powerful Terminator in the history of the Yuan Magnetic Territory. Not only was he granted a Dragon Vein by the Dragon King, transforming from a Deserted Person into a True Dragon, but he also obtained an Annihilation Dragon, causing envy and much discussion among many.
The appearance of a Legendary character right before them excited and delighted the Hunters, who clamored to see what the Annihilation Dragon looked like.
But some sensed something was off.
Why would Annihilation Jin want to enter the Space Elevator in this manner?
Those guards, too, were caught off guard by this turn of events, standing dumbfounded.
"Make way,"
Ji Xinghuo ordered curtly.
The guards of the Rock King family subconsciously cleared the way for the elevator exit. In front of an Annihilation Dragon Lord, they had no courage to block the way.
The Annihilation Dragon flapped its wings and flew into the corridor, navigating deftly in the zero-gravity environment. Guards stepped aside to let it pass, one after another, the gates opening automatically, clearing a path without hindrance. The watchers observed the Annihilation Dragon approach the Star Gate, as it plunged through.
The world before them twisted.
When vision returned to normal, Ji Xinghuo had already returned to the Star Realm, emerging outside the Star Gate of You Hui City.
"Annihilation Dragon!"
"By the Terminator above, this is the Annihilation Dragon..."
"Why is Annihilation Jin here?"
Surprised exclamations sounded around the Star Gate as the arrival of the Annihilation Dragon caused a stir, with everyone looking at the dark golden Divine Dragon. Although it was not large, smaller even than other juvenile Dragon Species, its aura of destruction commanded respect from all.
This was the most mysterious and rarest of the Divine Dragon Species!
It existed only in legends, and for the majority of those present, it might be the only chance in their lifetimes to see one.
But the moment after the Annihilation Dragon appeared, an unexpected change occurred.
A beam brighter than golden light shot from an unknown direction within You Hui City. The Annihilation Dragon sensed danger and desperately flapped its wings to dodge, but a gravitational vortex suddenly appeared, warping the void and suctioning both the Annihilation Dragon and its Dragon Lord back.
The beam hit Annihilation Jin in the chest.
Boom!
The imposing Dragon Lord was instantly vaporized, leaving no trace of his existence.
The Annihilation Dragon let out a furious roar.
It was pulled toward the gravitational vortex, struggling wildly but to no avail. A hundred-meter giant hand reached out from the center of the vortex to grab the Annihilation Dragon.
The scene was like an adult capturing a butterfly caught in a net, causing onlookers in You Hui City to be utterly dumbfounded.
Shepherd Star Saint!
The people were shocked beyond measure, as it was the Shepherd Star Saint who had made a move, intending to snatch the Annihilation Dragon!
It was said that the Annihilation Dragon Lord was still only Fifth Rank, no match for the Shepherd Star Saint.
However, the situation changed again.
The struggling Annihilation Dragon began to emit a ghostly light, transforming instantaneously from dragon form into a black tide. Within the huge shadow, a pair of bizarre eyes released another black vortex.
This vortex was much smaller than the gravitational one, but its suction force was no less inferior, overlapping and canceling each other out.
The black tide seized the opportunity to break free from the giant hand, quickly fading and merging into the shadows.
"It’s a fake!"
A voice filled with panic and frustration echoed over You Hui City. Everyone could hear the anger and irritation in it, the loss of composure from being deceived.
Then came a thunderous rage.
The giant hand surged forward and yanked a dark misty entity from the shadows. No matter how the entity changed its shape to break free, it was firmly trapped in the palm of the hand. The fingers closed, and the ghostly light was crushed outright.
The giant hand rapidly dissipated, and the terrifying presence of that Shepherd Star Saint also left, as if nothing had ever happened.
The people in You Hui City were left in a state of bewilderment.
It was only much later that everyone recovered, guessing what had transpired.
