Just as the TV flickered on, a soft noise came from the balcony, as if someone had opened the window.

Immediately after, the sound of someone landing and footsteps followed, indicating that someone had climbed in from the balcony.

Had a thief entered her home?

Su Yumo’s heart skipped a beat, instantly assuming that a burglar had broken in, intending to steal something.

With that thought, she quickly turned off the TV’s volume, then, grabbing the fruit knife from the coffee table, she tiptoed to a corner of the balcony and hid herself!

She prepared to teach the intruder, this vile burglar, a lesson.

The footsteps grew louder and clearer as they drew closer.

Soon, under the illumination of the light, a figure’s shadow was cast into the living room, elongating as it entered.

Su Yumo held her breath, clenching the fruit knife in her hand tightly, not daring to make a sound, for fear of startling the thief and causing him to flee.

The thief stepped around the corner, preparing to enter the living room.

Su Yumo shouted, mustering all her courage as she brandished the fruit knife and charged out, slashing fiercely at the figure.

Her stance made it clear she was out for blood; she would terrify the burglar, even if she couldn’t wound him.

She absolutely could not lose in terms of momentum!

However, her arm had just swung out when it was stopped by a strong hand, rendering her unable to move it even an inch further.

Su Yumo’s heart sank immediately, not expecting this thief to be so capable. It seemed he was quite strong, having neutralized her attack in one move!

"Villain! Daring to steal in my territory, I will never spare you. Once I catch you, I’m going to cut off your little ding-ding!"

Her hands captured, Su Yumo threatened fiercely.

But to her great surprise, the voice that came from the other side was all too familiar:

"Damn, you ruthless girl, trying to stab me with a knife and even wanting to make me childless! Do we have such a big feud?"

Ye Xuan yelled dramatically, even tightening his grip on her.

Hearing the voice, Su Yumo opened her eyes and saw that the ’villain’ in front of her was none other than Ye Xuan, the man who had been unsettling her mind!

"Ye Xuan! How could it be you?"

Su Yumo exclaimed in surprise once she realized.

"Who else could it be?"

Ye Xuan shrugged his shoulders, speaking irritably. It was a good thing he had reacted quickly; otherwise, he really would have been caught off guard by this woman.

"No, I mean... why are you here? And what are you doing here?"

Su Yumo was taken aback and asked with a cold face.

"I remembered that there was one last session of treatment today, so of course, I had to come and give you your therapy! Who knew you would mistake me for a thief."

Ye Xuan released her, took the fruit knife from her hand, walked into the living room, and placed it on the table.

Hearing this, Su Yumo pursed her lips and said resentfully, "If you were coming, why didn’t you go through the front door? Who let you climb in through the window? Of course I thought a thief had broken into the house!"

Inside, she was actually quite happy that Ye Xuan had made it, but naturally, she couldn’t show it on the surface.

This guy had embarrassed her badly today; she had to give him the cold shoulder.

"Don’t flatter yourself. Who was waiting for you? I just couldn’t sleep and was watching TV!"

The TV had just been turned on, and she hadn’t even started watching it yet. She could fool anyone with that excuse! Of course, in her eyes, that anyone was Ye Xuan.

"Watching TV? Were you watching it with the volume off?"

Ye Xuan picked up the remote control, adjusted the TV volume, and said with an amused smile.

"What’s it to you? Can’t a lady do as she pleases?"

With a scoff, Su Yumo snatched the remote control from Ye Xuan’s hand and turned the TV off.

"Heh, looks like you’re feeling lonely and scared being on your own," Ye Xuan teased.

"Yes, I am scared! I’m a woman living here by myself. Shouldn’t I be frightened? You just gave me a scare!"

Su Yumo boldly admitted it, pointing out Ye Xuan’s earlier misdeed.

"Alright, I was wrong just now, and I apologize," Ye Xuan shrugged and said.

"Is that how you apologize? You don’t sound sincere at all!"

Su Yumo muttered, and suddenly an idea popped into her head. She changed the topic and said, "Okay, I can forgive your mistake, but you have to promise me one thing."

"You can’t be serious?"

"I am serious! Tell me, do you agree or not?"

Su Yumo spoke imperiously, leaving no room for doubt.

"Alright, alright, I agree."

Ye Xuan raised his hands in surrender, raising his eyebrows and saying, "But first, I need to ask what it is. If it’s to warm the bed for you, serve as your attendant, or something like that, then you’ve got the right man! You’ve tested me yourself a couple of days ago. I’m skillful and well-equipped, honest to both young and old, I guarantee a night of pleasure."

"Ugh... I don’t want you to warm my bed, don’t even think about it!"

Su Yumo’s face blushed, she spat out a sound of disgust, dispelling Ye Xuan’s thoughts, and pointed at the sofa, "You’re staying tonight to keep me company as punishment! But you’ll sleep on the sofa and aren’t allowed to enter my bedroom."

After speaking, Su Yumo congratulated herself on her wit.

This way, she could have Ye Xuan stay and keep her company without sharing a bed with him, avoiding any awkwardness between them! And she would feel much more at ease—a perfect two-birds-with-one-stone plan.

Upon hearing this, Ye Xuan was not pleased: "I can stay, but why should I sleep on the sofa? I strongly demand gender equality; I want to sleep in a bed too."

"This is my house, my word is law!"

Su Yumo shot Ye Xuan a sideways glance, swaying her hips as she walked toward her bedroom: "If you dare to so much as step over the line or climb into my bed, I’ll cut off your little brother while you’re asleep. Hmph!"

With that one sentence, Ye Xuan instantly gave up his protest, no longer talking about gender equality.
