Chapter 194: The Great Jewelry Heist
Chapter 194: Chapter 194: The Great Jewelry Heist
Liu’s Jewelry Store, located near a corner.
Bai Wenrou hid herself at the back of the crowd, secretly observing the situation around her.
She had never expected that on her day off, a casual visit to the jewelry store would lead to her running into robbers, and not just any robbers, but ones armed with real guns and knives!
However, she felt some relief in that she wasn’t wearing her uniform today because she was off-duty, but instead was in plain clothes, so the robbers were unaware of her identity.
The jewelry store was in disarray, shattered glass strewn all over the ground, and about a dozen hostages were huddled together, hands on their heads, squatting on the floor.
Four robbers, wearing masks of Tang Seng and his disciples, stood armed inside the store, keeping watch in all directions.
Among them, the robber with the Tang Seng mask was likely the leader, currently rummaging through the store’s jewels and filling a sack relentlessly.
The other three stood at the entrance, alert to the noise outside, and keeping an eye on the hostages in the hall.
Many people were so frightened that their faces turned pale with fear, shivering uncontrollably, having never witnessed such a scene, scared out of their minds.
Especially with the four men each holding a gun, those dark barrels caused terror on everyone’s faces!
"Ah, I want to go home! Let me go..."
A middle-aged woman, unable to bear the psychological pressure, let out a piercing scream, stood up, and ran for it.
"Damn, dare to run away!"
The robber with the Zhu Bajie mask cursed and lifted his gun, pulling the trigger without hesitation.
Bang!
A bullet fired, striking the middle-aged woman’s thigh, blowing open a bloody hole, and she collapsed to the ground with a scream.
"Ah, my leg! I’ve been shot... Save me..."
The middle-aged woman lay there, pale-faced and unable to get up, crying out for help.
Instantly, her blouse soaked with blood, her body, and the floor were covered in it, looking horrifyingly grim!
"Keep screaming, and I’ll blow your head off with one shot!"
The Zhu Bajie mask pointed the gun at her head, bellowing with a threatening face.
The middle-aged woman immediately fell silent, terrified that saying another word would lead to her being shot.
Although the gaping wound in her leg was painful, she could endure the pain when her very life was at stake.
"Anyone else who dares try to escape, I’ll kill them on the spot!"
The Zhu Bajie mask glared around menacingly, intimidating the crowd.
The other robbers also aimed their guns, ready to fire at a word’s notice.
Feeling the chilling aura of killing intent, everyone involuntarily shivered!
Those who had been thinking of escaping, now felt their legs go weak, unable to stand.
Under the threat of guns, no one dared to take their own life lightly.
After filling their loot with jewelry, at the Tang Seng mask’s signal, Zhu Bajie mask took out another bag and approached the crowd.
"Hurry up! Hand over anything valuable you have on you."
Zhu Bajie mask said in a gruff and cold voice.
After witnessing the preceding events, no one dared to resist and obediently handed over their wallets, watches, rings, and necklaces, all of their valuable items.
Not complying with the robbers meant certain death, but handing over the items might spare their lives; they only hoped the robbers’ goal was the money and jewelry and that they would let them go.
Bai Wenrou’s expression grew serious, and after her observations, she noted that the four robbers collaborated seamlessly, clearly demonstrating a division of tasks and having undergone training.
These people had entered the jewelry store as if they knew their way around, obviously having scoped out the place beforehand. This was a premeditated robbery!
She concluded that the four robbers were not ordinary criminals and were likely seasoned offenders, representing a high level of threat.
As a police officer with a sense of justice, Bai Wenrou knew the dangers but could not ignore the situation; she had to bring these robbers to justice.
"Miss, hurry up and hand it over."
Just then, Zhu Bajie mask came up to Bai Wenrou and barked at her.
"Don’t... don’t shoot, I’ll give it to you right now!"
Bai Wenrou’s eyes flickered with a cold glint, but she feigned fear on the surface.
She reached into her bosom, her fingers touching the police gun at her lower back, ready to take action at any moment.
Although these four individuals all had guns, she had one too, and outside there were more than a dozen police officers in a blockade. There was no chance for the culprits to escape.
"Attention inside, you are surrounded! Drop your weapons and come out to surrender immediately!"
The shout of the police outside caused the complexions of the four robbers to change instantly.
Bai Wenrou felt a surge of joy in her heart; it seemed her colleagues outside were about to make a move. It was the perfect time for her to act, striking from within while being supported from outside.
"Hurry up; it’s time for us to go," said the voice behind the Tang Seng mask.
Staring at Bai Wenrou’s beautiful face and figure, a greedy gleam flashed in the eyes of the robber behind the Zhu Bajie mask, and his gaze then shifted to her rounded buttocks.
"What are you hiding behind your back? Hand it over quickly."
He chuckled and said, considering the cautious demeanor of this woman, she might be hiding something of value.
"I have a ’treasure’ here, definitely something that’ll surprise you."
Bai Wenrou smiled coldly, ready to subdue this Zhu Bajie first, then deal with the other three robbers.
"A treasure? Show it fast..."
Before Zhu Bajie behind the mask could finish his sentence, Bai Wenrou’s figure suddenly burst forth.
Swoosh!
Her form was like that of a nimble leopardess, swiftly pouncing toward the Zhu Bajie robber who was only an arm’s reach away.
Caught off guard by her sudden move and too close for comfort, the Zhu Bajie masked robber was taken down to the ground.
"Nobody move, or I’ll shoot."
Bai Wenrou instantly pulled out her gun, pointing it at Zhu Bajie’s forehead and said with a cold voice.
The other three, all wary of the police outside, hadn’t even had the time to react before they saw their accomplice subdued with a gun pointed at his head.
"Damn it!"
The man behind the Tang Seng mask glowered at Bai Wenrou, his voice icy as he said:
"Who are you? How do you have a gun? Are you a cop?"
Only cops would be armed!
"Congratulations, you guessed right. I’m from the Criminal Police Team of Tianhe Bay in East Sea City! Now you only have one choice: drop your weapons and surrender immediately, otherwise, I’ll shoot him dead."
Bai Wenrou shouted loudly with a steely expression, relieved to have successfully subdued Zhu Bajie.
"Heh, a cop? We never expected to have a police officer sneak in, but do you think you can handle us just because you’ve subdued him?"
Tang Seng behind the mask looked down on Bai Wenrou disdainfully, and the other robbers also sneered.
Huh?
What’s this situation? Bai Wenrou was startled.
With a sinister laugh, Zhu Bajie under the mask tore open his clothes, revealing the Bomb strapped to his chest.
"You actually brought Bombs!"
Seeing this, Bai Wenrou’s face changed dramatically, her expression turning to one of sheer horror.
"Little lady, do you think we would dare to rob without being prepared?" Tang Seng mocked with a cold smile.
The other three also tore open their jackets, revealing high-powered Bombs strapped to them like Zhu Bajie. If the Bombs were ignited, everyone in the jewelry store would be done for.
"Release my brother immediately, or these people will join us in death!"
Tang Seng looked at Bai Wenrou, his face grim as he spoke.
Bai Wenrou’s expression was extremely grim; she knew these were desperados, true to their word.
If she didn’t release the hostage, the explosive power was enough to level the jewelry store, and everyone present would be blasted to death, making her a sinner for the ages!
It was of no importance to her if she died, but dragging so many people down with her was something Bai Wenrou could not possibly do.
