Chapter 2524: Chapter 2514: Dust Settles
In the silent night, unaware of the cries of battle within the Demon Beast Mountain Range, a figure swiftly darted towards the direction of the small town. Wei Bat knew that his master, along with his other Senior Brothers and Junior Brothers, were holed up in this tiny inn.
Actually, it was said that the six apprentices of Qing Beast Daoist should be guarding the dungeon, but after so many years, not even a single demon beast had come, let alone anyone looking for trouble. Thus, the Senior Brothers and Junior Brothers seldom stayed in this impoverished place.
Today was no different, leaving only Wei Bat and Silkworm Senior Brother to watch over the place while the others had long gone to other towns or villages to have fun. Who would want to stay in such a poor land?
After making up his mind, Wei Bat gathered his master’s disciples around and came to his master’s place, while the other Senior Brothers were probably still flirting with the girls, suddenly being pulled up by their Senior Brother.
“Senior Brother, where are you taking us?”
The Second Apprentice of Qing Beast Daoist scratched his hair that resembled a bird’s nest and asked, but still followed Wei Bat honestly. He knew Wei Bat wasn’t the kind to pull someone out of bed in the middle of the night unless something serious was happening.
“Our chance to turn our fortune around has come.”
As soon as Wei Bat uttered this line, he flew off like a shooting star. The Second Senior Brother chuckled helplessly, scratched his head, and followed in the footsteps of his Senior Brother amidst the sounds of giggling and chatter. Knowing from the glances of the brothel girls, he realized this familiar face of his wouldn’t be visiting anytime soon.
Such events happened frequently, with Wei Bat pulling up all the Senior Brothers, not even forgetting the disciples of the four Uncles.
“Boss, what brings you to me at this late hour?”
Since his apprentices entered the courtyard, Qing Beast Daoist spoke up. Wei Bat glanced around at the surroundings — most objects in this courtyard were already old and worn out. Noticeably, even the most impoverished family in this township would likely have a better home than his master’s.
Indeed, the mayor originally intended to let Qing Beast Daoist reside in their home during cooperation, but Qing Beast Daoist refused, knowing fully well that their work was against the natural order. Yet, if they didn’t proceed, lives would surely be lost among these twelve individuals, giving Beast Martial an excuse to send the unfavored Elder here.
Someone had to do it eventually. Would their true heart-filled sacrifice to Ten Thousand Beasts Sect last forever?
In the end, Qing Beast Daoist reluctantly took on this task, expressing a sigh.
“Master, the disciple has urgent matters to discuss with you and Uncle Master.”
Wei Bat suppressed his excited heart, bowing in the courtyard as he spoke, his tone filled with urgency. Qing Beast Daoist clearly heard his disciple’s urgency and opened the door to let them inside.
“So late in the night, what urgent matter is this?”
Qing Beast Daoist and his Junior Brother hadn’t retired for the night, simply discussing their martial arts pointers, fortunately not completely losing out on their cultivation realm during this time away.
“Master, we should discuss this inside.”
Qing Beast Daoist knew his apprentice well; something that anxious wouldn’t be a trivial matter. Immediately turning around to usher his apprentices into the room.
The furnishings in the room were very simple. Wei Bat noticed his Uncle Master sitting on a chair, slightly clad in his clothes, seemingly about to sleep.
“Master, I’ve found a way for us to rise again.”
“Oh?”
Qing Beast Daoist looked puzzled at his Senior Disciple before Wei Bat began to recount his encounter with Long Yan.
“What, is what Long Yan said true?”
Upon hearing his Senior Disciple finish, Qing Beast Daoist’s first reaction was disbelief. Who was Long Yan now? It’s known that both Shu Mountain and Tianshan publicly support Long Yan — and that’s Shu Mountain. Frankly speaking, even tying ten Ten Thousand Beasts Sect people wouldn’t be enough to fight them.
Why is it the Three Great Forces in the Sacred Domain and not Four? Simply because Shu Mountain focused solely on cultivation and avoided conflict, otherwise joining as one of them would be no difficulty for Shu Mountain.
But seeing his disciple’s eyes, Qing Beast Daoist knew Wei Bat wasn’t lying, and it must have been after meeting Long Yan personally that he spoke thus. Recently, Qing Beast Daoist discovered that Long Yan seemed to have some ties with the Second Prince of the Qin Emperor Clan, though due to the prince’s standing, nothing had been made public.
This indicated that Long Yan had already become a relatively strong force in the Sacred Domain. With just a wave, at least within the Qin Dynasty, Long Yan was bound to have a say — without even hiding the relationship with the Eastern Ancient Clan. If they knew about the ties, who knows what expressions they’d have?
However, such a young man wanting to help his master and disciples resurrect Ten Thousand Beasts Sect and regain power — how could Qing Beast Daoist feel it’s real? After all, in Ten Thousand Beasts Sect, he’s merely known. How could he compare to this group of real giants?
“Indeed, that’s what Long Yan said to me. According to his thinking, he merely wants to retrieve the princess of the Emperor Clan.”
Wei Bat carefully recalled Long Yan’s eyes when he said this, then spoke with determination in his voice. Actually, cultivators regard matters of feelings very lightly, but hearing such remarks under normal circumstances might simply make Wei Bat laugh them off. Yet upon seeing Long Yan’s eyes, Wei Bat truly believed him.
“Is that so?”
Qing Beast Daoist’s eyes revealed some confusion. Although Wei Bat’s tone was firm, it was a gamble. Shu Mountain wouldn’t go fully to war against the Emperor Clan for Long Yan, so while Shu Mountain could help, it wouldn’t be the high-end combat force — it’s an outright gamble.
While they have some advantages, becoming the major power that is the Emperor Clan isn’t easy, considering how many would exist within the allied sects.
Qing Beast Daoist shivered abruptly, realizing this battle could indeed be one to be recorded in the Sacred Domain annals. Should he believe in Long Yan?
“Master, under Beast Martial’s hand, Ten Thousand Beasts Sect will be discarded in due time, so I ask Master to reclaim leadership over Ten Thousand Beasts Sect.”
Wei Bat knelt on the ground; neither this room nor the matter was befitting someone like Qing Beast Daoist who had contributed immensely to Ten Thousand Beasts Sect. Those behind, understanding, all knelt too.
“Please, Master/Uncle Master, take charge of Ten Thousand Beasts Sect once again.”
“You all…”
Qing Beast Daoist was stunned to find even his Junior Brother half-kneeling on the ground, raising hands above his head.
“Please, Senior Brother, lead us back into glory!”
Qing Beast Daoist was utterly bewildered.
