Chapter 2143 - 2143 The 2133rd Long Cai'er
2143: The 2133rd Long Cai’er 2143: The 2133rd Long Cai’er Yes, Long Yan had never truly owned an Immortal Pet since he began cultivating, as he had never encountered one that caught his fancy.
He always felt that if he didn’t have an Immortal Pet, it didn’t matter—there was emotional bonding to consider, and strength to cultivate; Long Yan found the entire idea rather troublesome.
However, the giant python in front of him, with its body shimmering in rainbows, had piqued Long Yan’s interest.
“Hey, can you understand what I’m saying?”
Long Yan spoke to the python, sensing that, like most creatures of its kind that had cultivated for a long time, it should understand his words.
The python cocked its head, making a human-like expression of puzzlement, which clearly showed it understood Long Yan.
“Be my Immortal Pet, shall I take you out?”
Long Yan sat down on the ground.
After some thought, he still decided to communicate with the python, which questioningly mimicked the posture of deep thought, as if it struggled to understand Long Yan’s words.
Though it possessed Spiritual Wisdom, it was not quite adept with worldly manners, making such Spirit Beasts easy to deceive—no, rather, to accept as Immortal Pets.
“You… can…”
The python suddenly spoke human language, albeit haltingly, obviously still unaccustomed, so its speech was like that of a child.
“Can you… take me… out?”
The voice sounded ethereal, like that of a girl, and Long Yan was slightly surprised to realize that the giant python was a female.
“Of course, but you’ll have to be my Immortal Pet.”
Long Yan seized the opportunity, continuing to entice the python.
“There’s a lot of delicious food outside, and plenty of fun things; do you want to go see?”
“Delicious… food?”
Clearly, the python didn’t understand Long Yan, but his expression sparked a hint of yearning in her heart.
“Delicious food, want to go.”
The python’s speech was considerably quicker than before; as they continued talking, she no longer struggled to utter each word like earlier.
Long Yan was overjoyed, noting that the python was continuously learning—a good sign indeed.
“Yes, as long as you help me fight, I’ll take you out to eat.”
Long Yan felt like an old man with a lollipop tempting a little girl, even though the girl before him could swallow him whole.
“Fight?”
The python’s eyes flickered with contemplative light, though for an animal, thinking wasn’t quite as crucial.
“I can help you, but you have to give me delicious food.”
Observing the python’s learning ability, Long Yan realized that after speaking for so long, she had only grasped the word “delicious.”
“Don’t move.”
Long Yan approached the python, his right hand gently resting on her head, emitting a brilliant crimson light that danced continuously in his palm.
The python, seeing the red light in Long Yan’s hand, writhed uncomfortably.
Long Yan could only softly pat her large head with his free left hand; under Long Yan’s touch, the python comfortably squinted her eyes.
A drop of fresh blood slid down Long Yan’s fingers, lighting up the Formation with Brilliant Light—the Contract was now set, and the python was officially his Immortal Pet.
Seeing the python behaving this way, Long Yan almost didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
The python was still young; more mature Spirit Beasts would not have established a contract with Long Yan so easily.
“Do you have a name?”
Now that the contract was established, Long Yan wasn’t concerned about her attacking him again, and he asked as he sat on her sizable tail.
“I have no name; since I was born, I’ve had neither parents nor a name.”
Long Yan had thought of this, for he felt that the python in front of him was different from other Spirit Beasts.
The python could speak human language largely because of its Legacy memories, not because someone had taught it.
“Then I’ll give you a name.”
Seeing a trace of disappointment on the python’s face, Long Yan nonchalantly stroked its large head and said.
“Sure.”
The python gently nodded its head and hissed softly in agreement.
“Your scales are so beautiful; from now on, you’ll be called Long Cai’er.”
Long Yan took his own surname, touched the python’s scales, and said that of all things beautiful, everyone liked them, Long Yan was no exception, hence there was a bit of self-interest in his choice.
“Long Cai’er…
Long Cai’er.”
She softly repeated the name twice, then excitedly shook her tail, indicating that she really liked the name.
However, this made things difficult for Long Yan, who was currently sitting on Long Cai’er’s tail.
As she flicked her tail, Long Yan’s body was thrown into the air.
“Let’s go, Cai’er.”
Long Yan patted his buttocks and said to Long Cai’er, as the last shake had made him fall hard.
“Okay.”
Long Cai’er responded, following Long Yan with her massive body continuously moving.
“Stop.”
Seeing Long Yan’s gesture, Long Cai’er looked at him, puzzled.
Long Yan was sweating profusely.
Long Cai’er’s body was too massive.
Upon encountering obstacles that were hard to pass, she would choose the most primitive method—smashing through them.
Consequently, the noise they made was considerable.
Having traveled only a short distance, their path was already littered with shattered rocks and fallen trees.
Long Yan thought that if Long Cai’er mistook him for an obstacle and knocked him aside, it would not feel pleasant.
“Cai’er, can you change into a different form?”
Long Yan explained his thought with gestures and words before Long Cai’er understood.
After a moment of thought, her enormous body began to morph slowly, transforming into a youthful girl.
However, this made Long Yan quickly cover his eyes.
It wasn’t that Long Cai’er’s transformation was unattractive—she was quite beautiful—but she hadn’t any clothes on after the change.
“Master, master, don’t I look nice?”
Long Cai’er ran over and clung to Long Yan’s arm to ask, which only led his thoughts astray.
“Quickly put on some clothes.”
After turning his head away, Long Yan draped one of his garments over Long Cai’er.
Only then did he dare to look at her again, finding her pouting angrily.
It amused Long Yan internally; he hadn’t expected such a rich expression from this little creature.
“Master, this is so uncomfortable.”
Hardly taking his eyes off her for a moment, she began to tear at her clothes.
The restrictive feeling made her very uncomfortable.
It took Long Yan quite a while to teach her the necessity of wearing clothes, and only then did she reluctantly tighten her clothes.
With a short distance left to the village, Long Yan’s heart was extremely joyful.
Although he hadn’t caught any wild game on this trip, he had gained Long Cai’er, a powerful Immortal Pet.
“What’s this?”
A big white net blocked Long Yan’s path—this thing hadn’t been there before.
Long Yan picked up a tree branch and gently touched the white big net in front of him, which caused the net to tremble.
