Chapter 2107 - 2107 2097 The Truth

2107: Chapter 2097 The Truth 2107: Chapter 2097 The Truth Long Yan’s figure suddenly disappeared from the spot.

“Ah.”

The small team leader let out a cry of agony, his face bearing five slap marks as he looked at Long Yan with resentful eyes, who had reappeared at the same spot.

“Hmph!”

Bai Xiaosheng’s expression grew even uglier.

On one hand, he was upset because Long Yan had slapped the small team leader without regard for his own dignity, and on the other hand, the small team leader had embarrassed him.

“So, Young Hero Long, do you have any evidence to prove that you didn’t steal it?”

Bai Xiaosheng slowly spoke, now having no reason to trust Long Yan.

“I was in a competition before.”

Bai Xiaosheng’s tone was very respectful, for Long Yan’s move had clearly shocked everyone.

A person with such strength would not lack wealth regardless of which sect they joined.

“Who knows if you stole it just now, maybe you did it for the Seven Star Hall.”

The small team leader seemed unlearned from Long Yan’s slap; his mouth still had that contaminated appearance.

Just as Long Yan was about to make a move, a ‘slap’ sound came from the air.

Bai Xiaosheng turned and gave the small team leader a slap, the force of which made the small team leader spin around three times on the spot.

“This is no place for you to speak.”

Bai Xiaosheng was truly infuriated.

Did the small team leader even think before he spoke?

It was one thing to provoke Long Yan, but directly challenging the Seven Star Hall—as if inviting war with them?

“Young Hero Long, just now I taught this ignorant fool a lesson.”

Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, Bai Xiaosheng felt a chill run through his veins.

The sentence had startled him; no matter how wealthy he was, he was just a businessman daring to truly challenge a sect, any of which could obliterate them in an instant.

Bai Xiaosheng had just attached himself to an important figure and was not ready to vanish so soon.

“Can the people of My Seven Star Hall act as if they haven’t heard this?”

Long Yan sharply rebuked, seizing the opportunity to make a point.

“Yes, yes, yes.”

Bai Xiaosheng bent over, his posture groveling, which made it hard for Long Yan to lose his temper again.

“I think we should return to the main topic.”

Long Yan steered the conversation back on track.

“Plainly put, Mr.

Bai, you would surely guard something as valuable as the Jade Token closely, correct?”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded.

All the jade tokens inside had Soul Imprinting; it wouldn’t be easy to even forcefully breach the guards, let alone stealing them.

“So, at the time the token was lost, I have an alibi; I was competing in the arena then.”

After hearing Long Yan’s words, Bai Xiaosheng had someone fetch the competition schedule, a hint of relief appearing in his eyes.

“Yes.”

“This matter indeed has nothing to do with Young Hero Long.”

Bai Xiaosheng, lifting the dazed small team leader, spoke with full apology, inwardly cursing the latter to death.

“However, Mr.

Bai could question this person.”

Long Yan’s finger pointed toward the small team leader held by Bai Xiaosheng.

This small team leader was too suspicious; Long Yan’s large boat was in the middle position, and he hadn’t heard any noise, indicating the small team leader was coming straight for Long Yan.

Then, who had told the small team leader the Jade Token would be here?

What followed was even stranger—normally one would allow explanations before catching a thief, yet this small team leader had immediately threatened to cut off his own hand.

Even using his own voice to drown out Long Yan’s explanations showed he must have been feeling guilty.

Therefore, combining all these issues, Long Yan thought the small team leader definitely knew something.

“Hmm?”

Mr.

Bai commanded his men to wake the Small Team Leader, then he personally questioned him.

“Tell us everything you know.”

The Small Team Leader of course knew what had happened but insisted that it was Long Yan who stole the Jade Token.

“So you are determined to be stubborn and not reveal who commanded you?”

Long Yan’s indifferent expression caused a wave of fear to wash over the Small Team Leader; he was just a small team leader, and offending a disciple from a major sect could very well mean death without it being considered excessive.

“Yes, you thief, do not try to frame me.”

Clearly, by now, not many believed what the Small Team Leader was saying; he cast a pleading gaze toward Mr.

Bai.

“Hmph!”

The other party did not want to deal with him and was even considering how to use this man to gain Long Yan’s forgiveness.

“Choose—dead or alive.”

A thick killing intent surrounded Long Yan, making the Small Team Leader feel as though someone was choking him.

He had an intuition that if he did not tell the truth now, Long Yan would certainly kill him.

“It was Ling Yu from the Carefree Faction who told me to do it; I only received fifty Mysterious Lingdan from him.”

The Small Team Leader spoke with a mournful face, knowing that even by telling the truth, there was an eighty percent chance he wouldn’t survive, but he hoped it would spare his family.

With a “whoosh,” a shadow flew out from among the crowd, its gaze slightly dazed, yet its movement was incredibly fast.

“Where do you think you’re running to!”

Long Yan stomped heavily on the ground with his right foot and shot towards Ling Yu in the air like a meteor.

He had been somewhat careless and hadn’t expected Ling Yu to be among the onlookers.

The bystanders were stunned; the criminal suddenly became Ling Yu.

Chu Bei also transformed into a streak of dark light, chasing after Ling Yu.

Ling Yu waved his hand, and four or five black and red Sword Qi rushed towards Long Yan, their power even greater than when Long Yan had fought him previously.

From the Dragon Tooth blade, a massive Saber Qi burst forth, shattering countless Sword Qi, and smashed fiercely towards Ling Yu’s figure.

“Die!”

Ling Yu’s voice sounded somewhat sinister, different from the floating, almost immortal sound it had before; now it carried a hint of darkness.

The surrounding Sword Light, as if it had eyes, flew towards Long Yan, carrying threads of Demonic Qi beneath the powerful True Qi, making the air around them nearly suffocate.

“Long… Long Yan, die!”

A trace of clarity appeared in Ling Yu’s eyes; then, he gestured towards Long Yan with a flick of his hand, the Demonic Qi displayed on the Tai Chi Formation felt oddly out of place.

Long Yan’s pupils suddenly constricted, the incoming Sword Qi doubled in speed.

Unable to react, Long Yan summoned a Tai Chi Formation in front of him.

The Sword Light, carrying Demonic Qi, shook the Tai Chi Formation, and the explosion’s rising smoke blocked Long Yan’s vision.

By the time the smoke cleared, Ling Yu had already vanished from before Long Yan.

“How did it go?”

Chu Bei arrived belatedly and hurriedly inquired of Long Yan.

“He escaped.”

Long Yan shook his head helplessly; Ling Yu’s martial arts were truly strange, even carrying Demonic Qi from the Carefree Faction which he had never even heard of.

After hearing Long Yan’s words, Chu Bei nodded.

Since he had escaped, there was nothing that could be done; the two of them flew back to the ship together.

The original crowd that had surrounded them remained in place, bewildered by the bizarre turn of events, which had unexpectedly involved Ling Yu from the Carefree Faction.
