Chapter 434: Chapter 435 Filming in Progress

The others looked at each other, not knowing how to console her. Were they supposed to go and pick a fight with He Jinxia?

No, no, no, even speaking to her was difficult enough, let alone fighting her.

Zhou Zhengfei said bitterly, "One day, I will be more famous than He Jinxia, and I will personally ask her for an explanation!"

"Achoo!" In another corner, He Jinxia couldn’t help but sneeze, which the director used as an opportunity to call "cut" and let her rest for a bit.

Some actresses quickly gathered around her to hand her water and a towel, even more eager than Cheng Xiaohua. The director saw this and joked, "Big star, you’ve got actresses falling at your feet now!"

He Jinxia smiled and shook her head, "Not at all, they are just diligent and eager to learn, wanting to ask me questions but unable to find an excuse to approach. That’s why they do this."

She turned to look at the actress standing by her side and asked amiably, "Isn’t that right?"

The actress quickly nodded, "Yes, that’s exactly it. I wanted to ask the senior about an acting problem, but I was afraid the senior might think I had ulterior motives, so I did this."

If you’re asking for help, you need to show the attitude of asking for help. The actress didn’t think there was anything wrong with He Jinxia’s words.

She came from a family of merchants and had developed a thick skin from an early age. It didn’t matter what others thought, as long as her own problems were solved.

The director shook his head, smiling, and moved away.

He Jinxia glanced up at Cheng Xiaohua. Sister Xiao Hua got the hint and also walked away.

After a while, there was just one actress standing beside He Jinxia, with everyone else too far away to hear what they were saying clearly.

With her head bowed, the actress said softly, "Senior Jinxia, I broke up with him."

He Jinxia sighed lightly, "Why go through all that?"

The actress sniffed and said, "The one who confessed to him was actually my friend. She didn’t have the courage, so I wanted to help her. The love letter was delivered by me, and I had arranged the confession spot. Everything was ready, but, at the last minute, my friend didn’t have the guts to show up."

"I, I had no choice; after all, I’d already called him out and needed to explain. But when he saw me, he just hugged me and said he liked me too. I, I froze and then somehow we started dating in confusion. After what happened, I didn’t dare to face my friend."

He Jinxia had known about the incident the night before last.

At the time, she was talking with Sheng Yan in the fire escape, about to leave, when she heard footsteps stomping up the stairs. The sound was clear because their quarrel and her location were only a floor apart.

Initially, she didn’t want to interfere, but then she recognized the voices of the two girls as actresses from the crew; she was worried something might happen and stood still to listen.

After eavesdropping quietly for a while, she heard a melodramatic prime-time soap opera unfold about unrequited love.

After they finished arguing, one of the actresses left, while the other stayed behind, crying sadly on the stairs.

Fearing she might get desperate in her sadness, He Jinxia went down to comfort her.

The actress was surprised to see her and very reserved, but she couldn’t stop her tears from falling. He Jinxia just passed her tissues and said nothing.

In the end, the actress asked her if she should break up and give Zhou Zhengfei back to her friend?

He Jinxia wasn’t any relationship expert, although from what she heard, Zhou Zhengfei had liked her from the start, not her friend.

If that was the case, even if they broke up, Zhou Zhengfei might not be interested in her friend, but in the end, she chose to remain silent.

Intuition told her that it was better not to speak up about other people’s emotional affairs.

In the stairwell, she spent a good half-hour with the actress. Once she saw that her mood had stabilized, she told her to go back and rest, and after that, they had no more interactions.

Unexpectedly, a day later, the actress sought out He Jinxia to talk about her own follow-up actions.

He Jinxia was silent for a moment, then suddenly felt a headache coming on. What kind of situations were these!

She slowly began, "As long as you don’t regret it, that’s good."

The actress, who had been hanging her head low, nodded slightly upon hearing this. Her voice was soft but resolute, "I don’t regret it."

He Jinxia patted her on the shoulder, "Then put all your effort into acting."

The actress responded with a firm "Mhm."

The break passed in a flash. In the morning, He Jinxia finished recording all the fight scenes, and in the afternoon, she began filming the dramatic scenes.

Her short hair was slightly disheveled, her eyes dark, a hint of blue on her cheeks, and traces of blood at the corner of her mouth. The suit she was wearing was crumpled.

Her hand was wrapped in a bandage. During the fight scene, someone had pulled out a knife. It was Deng Meili who had bravely caught the blade with her bare hands, wresting the knife away from them.

The consequence of her moment of bravery was a cut on her hand from the knife.

After being bandaged up at the clinic, Deng Meili stepped out and saw Wang Zhao sitting on the road facing the sea.

Wang Zhao was one of the two poor students in Class Z of the third year. However, unlike the others, Wang Zhao’s academic performance was excellent. He had the potential to be in Class A of the third year and had no issue getting into college.

Wang Zhao was staying in that class to tutor a rich kid, which paid well. The rich kid’s parents had requested him purposely to score poorly on a test to end up in Class Z so that the one-on-one tutoring would be more effective.

After a series of incidents at home, such as family poverty, criticism from his family members, and the lack of progress of his tutee...

Faced with the choice of satisfying his family’s expectations by returning to Class A, further burdening his parents financially, or continuing in Class Z with a high salary without his parents having to pay tuition, Wang Zhao found himself in a state of confusion.

Deng Meili sat down beside him, gazing at the endless sea in front of them. She handed him a bottle of chilled beer and asked,

"Looking into your eyes, I see the words ’lost lamb.’ Tell me, what’s troubling you?"

Wang Zhao stared at the beer for a while before saying softly, "I don’t drink beer."

Director Zhou, with a heart full of concern, gestured for them to continue filming. This scene had already been shot three times before, always stopping at Wang Zhao’s line. Fortunately, this take finally made it through.

Deng Meili gave him a sidelong glance, took the beer back, and bit off the bottle cap with a "pop." She tilted her head back and started to chug.

"Cut!" the director shouted, and He Jinxia quickly spat out the beer in her mouth.

The recent action was a bit challenging; she had to mimic swallowing while not actually drinking the beer, and it was easy to choke and cause a NG if she wasn’t careful. Luckily, she managed to get through it smoothly.

The actor playing Wang Zhao asked with concern, "Senior Jinxia, can’t you drink alcohol?"

He Jinxia nodded and said, "Yes, my body is a bit sensitive to alcohol."
