Chapter 318: Chapter 318: Moonlight Tavern, the Shocked Li Haotian!
Li Haotian pushed the door open and entered, initially expecting the inside to be very noisy.
But unexpectedly, the environment was much more elegant than he had anticipated.
The entire tavern was paved with wooden planks, exuding an antique charm.
Although it was broad daylight, quite a few people were already drinking, chatting, and eating inside the tavern.
Li Haotian’s gaze swept across the room and landed on the young woman in a purplish-red robe near the bar, holding an instrument resembling a pipa, her long brown hair falling over her shoulders.
This woman had a faint smile on her face, bearing an air of a knowledgeable elder sister, giving off a sense of elegance and mystery.
Without needing an introduction, Li Haotian almost instinctively recognized her as Alice, the bard skilled in fortune telling!
At this moment, Alice was speaking with two other women.
One of them had golden hair tied back and was wearing a red outfit and cloak reminiscent of an East Dragon Empire cheongsam, exuding a mature charm. She was wiping a wine glass and seemed to be the owner of the tavern.
But what made Li Haotian feel absurd was that this dazzling mature woman had her long legs wrapped in what appeared to be black translucent stockings!
If someone told him now that Blue Star and the Arad Continent were unrelated, Li Haotian would never believe it!
Damn it!
Even the black stockings are exactly the same. If there’s no relation, I’ll chop off my head!
As for the other, her demeanor was entirely different from the former.
She appeared to be about twenty years old, with platinum hair neatly tied back, wearing a green dress.
Her eyes were blue, her figure petite, her features delicate, and she wore a gentle smile, giving off a fresh and natural vibe.
Judging by her pointed ears, she seemed to be an elf girl.
Li Haotian hesitated slightly and walked over.
"Hello, are you Alice the bard?"
Alice was in the midst of speaking when suddenly interrupted by a voice, instinctively turning her head.
However, when she saw Li Haotian, she was momentarily stunned.
Seeing the other party staring at him in a daze, Li Haotian’s heart tensed up.
He thought to himself, "Could this person have recognized my background? I heard from a few people that this bard is supposedly very good at divination..."
Fortunately, the next moment, Alice quickly composed herself.
Her gaze rested on Spitz beside Li Haotian for a brief moment, as if curious.
Then she smiled slightly: "Yes, I am Alice. Do you have something for me?"
Li Haotian immediately breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly asked, "Hello, Miss Alice. I heard from others that you had seen some Holy Professors head to the Dark Elf Kingdom before."
"Were those Holy Professors heading to Noypela?"
Alice didn’t answer immediately. She scrutinized Li Haotian with a few glances and asked, "Aren’t you afraid of them?"
Li Haotian was momentarily taken aback.
Afraid of them?
Afraid of whom? The Holy Professors?
The power of the Holy Professors is the nemesis of evil, why should I be afraid of them?
Seeing Li Haotian’s bewildered expression, Alice chuckled as if not too surprised, and said warmly, "Young adventurer, it seems there’s a lot you don’t know about, probably because you’re from some remote place, right? Do you want me to tell you about it?"
Li Haotian immediately snapped back to reality, hesitated a bit, and nodded: "Alright, then I’ll trouble you."
Alice chuckled lightly, casually turning to the glamorous blond woman and said, "Sosia, get our young adventurer here a drink, on me."
Sosia looked at Alice in surprise, then sized up Li Haotian again, a look of curiosity flashing in her eyes, soon concealed.
She giggled, "It’s rare, Alice. I’ve known you for so long, and I’ve never seen you offer to buy a man a drink."
With that, she put down the wine glass she had been wiping, skillfully mixed a bright red liquor for Li Haotian, and pushed it in front of him.
"Little handsome guy, give it a try. This is one of the most popular wines at my Moonlight Tavern, Bloody Mary." Sosia introduced, while curiously observing Li Haotian, her eyes shining, seemingly guessing Li Haotian’s background.
Beside them, the elf girl in the green dress also looked at Li Haotian with surprise, smiling playfully, and took the initiative to greet, "Hello, adventurer! My name is Celia."
Li Haotian instinctively responded, "Hello, my name is Li Haotian."
The golden-haired mature woman Sosia asked in confusion, "Li Haotian? That’s a strange name."
Li Haotian fell silent for a moment, not explaining, and instead lifted the glass and took a sip, praising, "Good wine!"
Next to him, Alice silently watched the proceedings, her face maintaining a faint smile, her thoughts unreadable.
When Li Haotian put the glass down and looked at her again, Alice finally smiled and began speaking slowly, "You must have heard of the Dark Holy War from a million years ago, right?"
Li Haotian’s eyes flickered, quickly realizing that the Dark Holy War Alice was referring to was the revenge war the Elf Clan waged against the Perus Empire in those days.
However, in the history of the Elf Clan, this war is called the Judgement War.
He nodded imperceptibly, "I know, it was the war launched by the Elf Clan against the Perus Empire after embracing the seeds of evil proposals."
Alice nodded with a smile, "Yes, that’s the one."
"It seems, you may be from a small place, but you aren’t entirely ignorant of these historical events."
She teased, then continued, "In those days, the King of the Perus Empire, ’Conqueror’ Casillas, used his life as a cost to forcibly sever the plane, exiling the Azeroth Continent, thereby ending the Dark Holy War."
"Though the Elf Clan was deeply wounded by that war, the Perus Empire also suffered heavily."
"At that time, the most powerful Legendary Mage of the Perus Empire, the apostle Ozma, was corrupted by evil forces during the fight with the Dark Elves, bringing a new disaster to the Perus Empire."
Hearing this, Li Haotian’s pupils contracted, and he couldn’t help but exclaim, "What did you say! Ozma?"
Beside him, Sosia looked at Li Haotian in surprise and asked, "Why are you so shocked? Don’t tell me you haven’t heard this part of history?"
She did not know that, at this moment, a storm was raging in Li Haotian’s mind.
The Demon Envoy Ozma, who attempted to invade the Azeroth Continent, had once been a part of the Perus Empire!
Could it be that the so-called Demon Race is not actually a true race, but a new race formed after being eroded by some kind of evil power!?
