Chapter 472: 0473 Original Form Revealed (Sixth Update)
Lin Qiao’er arrived at Hankou Street and saw the van that was practically a write-off.
Many drivers had stopped their cars and gathered around because the scene that had just unfolded was truly shocking.
The honking was incessant, and traffic was severely congested, affecting many people’s travel plans.
Of course, most of the discussion was about the incident that had just occurred.
"You guys have no idea, that person just jumped down from that streetlight and landed directly on this van. The driver was so scared he just opened the door and ran, not even caring about the child inside," a concerned driver was describing the scene in detail.
"It’s one thing for someone to jump from that height and smash onto a car without injury—though I can’t figure out how he climbed up there—but the fact he crushed the car, could he really be unharmed?" Some were skeptical since the drivers who arrived later hadn’t witnessed the event themselves; they’d just seen a crowd gathering and joined in the congestion and the buzz.
The enthusiastic driver knew some people wouldn’t believe him, so he said proudly, "Luckily, I was quick-witted enough to capture the scene on my phone. You might not believe my words, but the footage here is real."
Then, the driver played the video he’d recorded, which was very clear; Ye Qiu’s face could be seen in detail.
In the footage, Ye Qiu stood atop the streetlight and then leaped into the air. Many onlookers widened their eyes as Ye Qiu stepped through the air as if walking on an invisible floor. However, this lasted only a few steps before he plummeted down and landed squarely on the van.
The video was less than five seconds long and quite brief.
"Now do you believe it?" The driver asked, seeing the people around him still immersed in the shock of the video, feeling very smug.
"Sorry, your phone has been confiscated. Please cooperate." Just then, the helpful driver found his phone snatched away by a beautiful woman.
"This is the scene of the incident. Any footage will be used as evidence. Thank you for capturing this moment," Lin Qiao’er said earnestly.
Faced with Lin Qiao’er, the soldier, the eager driver, though reluctant, could only watch helplessly as his phone was taken away. However, Lin Qiao’er promised to award him a certificate for being an exemplary citizen, and the phone would be returned to him after the record was taken.
Pot in hand, he was clearing the crowd. Lin Qiao’er looked at the van in front of her, which appeared as if it had been trampled by an elephant, revealing a trace of shock. Was it the work of Ye Qiu?
While Lin Qiao’er was amazed at the destructive power of Ye Qiu, she also knew that this event must not be allowed to escalate. If the news of a person crushing a car with one foot were to spread, it would frighten the citizens. After all, most of them were ordinary people who didn’t know about the existence of Martial Artists.
As for the enthusiastic driver’s phone, when it was returned to him, Lin Qiao’er would ensure the video was cleaned up.
The trouble left by Ye Qiu was for Lin Qiao’er to deal with. Even if she was unwilling, she had no choice but to handle it. Who could blame her? This incident was somewhat related to her.
...
In a Western restaurant in Capital City.
Jiang Hao adjusted his bow tie. He was wearing a clean suit today, had shaved his beard immaculately, and his hair had just been styled, shiny and sleek, giving him a very fresh appearance.
However, who would have thought that Jiang Hao, looking every bit the part, was fantasizing in his mind about the scenes with Fang Sijie tonight?
Using Niu Yinyin as a pretext, once he’d finally managed to ask Fang Sijie out, Jiang Hao was incredibly excited.
Because he understood that if Fang Sijie was worried about Yinyin, she would definitely agree to his demands, no matter how unreasonable. This woman had no choice but to nod in agreement.
"Women, truly, can’t always be appeased. Sometimes being assertive is a delightful experience," Jiang Hao’s excitement lingered.
Song Jie had already passed the message; Fang Sijie’s Yinyin was on her way, and if Fang Sijie didn’t take the hint, he could gently remind her of Yinyin’s safety.
Jiang Hao took a deep breath, trying to appear calm and collected.
He sat quietly in his chair, waiting for Fang Sijie to arrive.
An hour after Jiang Hao hung up the phone with Fang Sijie, she appeared at the entrance of the restaurant.
"You’re here," said Jiang Hao, gentlemanly pulling out a chair for Fang Sijie.
Fang Sijie was in no mood to have a meal with Jiang Hao; she had rushed over precisely because of Yinyin—Niu Yinyin.
"Where’s Yinyin?" Fang Sijie asked directly.
Jiang Hao smiled, gesturing for Fang Sijie to sit down before slowly starting a conversation, "Sijie, Yinyin is fine. I didn’t know you have such a cute daughter."
"Jiang Hao, I want to see my Yinyin. I’m here as you requested. Please tell me where Yinyin is," Fang Sijie demanded sternly. At first, she didn’t believe Jiang Hao’s words, but when she called Longjia and asked about Yinyin, Shen Mengchen hemmed and hawed, telling her that Yinyin hadn’t returned and that they had sent people to look for her. Hearing this, Fang Sijie’s heart sank. When Jiang Hao took the initiative to call her and announced that he knew Yinyin’s whereabouts, Fang Sijie naturally hurried over.
"Sss... What’s the hurry? If you frown like that, you’ll get wrinkles. I don’t like that look on you," Jiang Hao said calmly. He could see from the woman’s eyes before him that Yinyin was very important to her, and it seemed he could make any unreasonable demands, picturing Fang Sijie unwillingly but necessarily agreeing.
Fang Sijie also realized that Jiang Hao wouldn’t let her see Yinyin easily. She said, "What do you plan to do before you tell me Yinyin’s whereabouts? Want money?"
"Money?" Jiang Hao laughed heartily. "Would I, Jiang Hao, lack money? Sijie, you know what I really want isn’t money."
"Then what do you want?" Fang Sijie stared at Jiang Hao.
Jiang Hao took a sip of the red wine in his glass, seemingly mustering up courage, and with a pair of eyes that scanned Fang Sijie from head to toe, he revealed a bad smile and slowly said, "You know very well what I want..."
Fang Sijie’s face changed suddenly. As a smart woman, how could she not understand the implication behind his words? It turned out his real goal was her. Compared to Jiang Hao’s previous polite pursuits, that was probably also an act.
"If you want to see your Yinyin, it’s simple. As long as I get what I want, I’ll have your Yinyin returned to you," Jiang Hao said with a smile.
"There’s a room upstairs. If you agree, go up. If you don’t agree, you can probably guess the consequences!"
With this last sentence, Jiang Hao made his intentions clear; he was forcing Fang Sijie to agree. It had been over ten days since he had been unable to win her over, and now finding pleasure in forcing her in this manner brought him a twisted sense of joy.
Fang Sijie glared at Jiang Hao fiercely, the man having shown his true colors, threatening her with her own daughter Yinyin, and making such a demand left her too angry to speak.
The worst words seemed too mild to describe Jiang Hao.
"Sijie, I advise you not to think about seeking help. You should be aware of my background; you couldn’t bear such consequences. For your daughter’s safety, what does it matter if you sacrifice something?" Jiang Hao said slowly.
Fang Sijie bit her lip, an image of Yinyin surfacing in her mind. Could she disagree? But then, if something happened to Yinyin, she would hate herself for the rest of her life.
Fang Sijie’s gaze reluctantly shifted towards the staircase leading upstairs. Her legs felt as heavy as if they were filled with lead.
Seeing this scene, the corners of Jiang Hao’s mouth lifted. She had to agree, even if she didn’t want to!
