Chapter 349: 0348 Dragon and Tiger Taoist Temple Chronicles

Zhao Jun and Huang Ya were dining at a high-end Western restaurant, having moved past their initial unfamiliarity to discuss some work-related matters.

"Ya, how has work been recently? Are you enjoying it?" asked Zhao Jun.

"It’s been okay," Huang Ya replied, somewhat absent-minded these past few days, her responses to Zhao Jun were perfunctory.

"Ya, if there’s something troubling you at work, feel free to share it with me. By the way, last time you mentioned your company was expanding into other city markets. How is that going now?"

"Hello, Ya? Are you listening?"

Huang Ya was somewhat distracted. Zhao Jun clapped his hands, and Huang Ya, startled, asked, "What did you just say?"

Zhao Jun repeated himself, and Huang Ya shook her head, "I thought expanding into external markets would be easier, but just a few days into implementation, we already faced obstacles."

"Oh, don’t worry. Isn’t it true that nothing goes smoothly at first? Are you guys planning to continue like this? If you can’t expand into external markets, ultimately, you’ll have to change your strategy," Zhao Jun asked smoothly.

"That’s true. The chairman has already decided to contact the major financiers and share the interests equally."

"Oh? Which major financiers?" Zhao Jun was intrigued.

"Several provinces around Zhongshan city might get involved!" After finishing, Huang Ya retorted, "Why have you become so interested in our company all of a sudden?"

"Haha, Ya, I care about you, okay? I’m just worried you might overwork yourself because of your job." Zhao Jun laughed heartily as he explained.

Huang Ya stared at Zhao Jun for a while but didn’t probe further. After they finished their meal, Zhao Jun drove Huang Ya back to her company.

After getting out of the car, Huang Ya watched Zhao Jun drive away and murmured, "Could it really be you? If it is, I’m so sorry for betraying the chairman’s trust..."

Inside the chairman’s office.

When Ye Qiu admitted he might need to leave for another month, Shen Mengchen slammed her hand on the table and stood up.

"Ye Qiu, damn it, I hire you every month to protect me, and here you are, disappearing every day, busier than me, the chairman!" Shen Mengchen decided to erupt.

"Miss, this is the last time, okay? Just give me one more month off?" Ye Qiu pleaded pitifully.

"Hmph, my money isn’t easy to earn. Since you’re asking for leave, there goes your 500,000 for the month," Shen Mengchen said slowly, knowing Ye Qiu was obsessed with money, and 500,000 was a big temptation for him.

Ye Qiu rubbed his forehead, "500,000! Do I really need to confirm my ranking in the Ten Owls by fighting others, just for that fame?"

Staying with Shen Mengchen, never worrying about food or drink, earning 500,000 easily—what a comfortable life that was. Why was he causing trouble for himself?

It’s all the old lecher’s fault!

Ultimately, Ye Qiu blamed the old lecher. If not for him, he wouldn’t have joined the Longjia Group, nor would he have entered the martial arts competition.

"He will have to compensate me for this 500,000," Ye Qiu decided to hold the old lecher accountable and planned to demand it from him later.

Enduring the acute pain of not having the 500,000, Ye Qiu left the Longjia Building and returned to the goddess’s villa to pack up and head to the Western countries.

However, soon after, a familiar visitor came, startling Ye Qiu.

It was Tang Yao!

"Ye Qiu, my master wants to meet you. Do you have the time to visit Longhu Taoist Temple?" Tang Yao asked directly, without beating around the bush.

"Oh, who is your master?"

"Hermit Qian Zhen, the one who set up the Formation at the martial arts competition," Tang Yao said slowly.

It was him.

Ye Qiu felt moved and then nodded, "Let’s go, I’m quite curious about your Longjia Daoist Temple too."

"Did you drive here?" Ye Qiu asked as he saw Tang Yao open the car door, somewhat startled. In his mind, martial artists rarely used modern means of transportation.

"The Longjia Daoist Temple is over a hundred miles from here, and I didn’t want to arrive all dusty. Besides, driving it is fast and saves energy and effort!" Tang Yao explained and then sat in the driver’s seat, and Ye Qiu directly climbed into the back seat.

The two of them remained silent on the road, and after more than an hour, the car stopped at the base of the mountain.

Tang Yao led the way, leaping up countless steps until they finally saw the stone carvings of the Longjia Daoist Temple, engraved on a huge boulder.

Is this the Longjia Daoist Temple?

Ye Qiu looked around.

Although it was the winter season, the climate here wasn’t chilling to the bone. Buds of plum blossoms were ready to blossom, enhancing the otherwise colorless season.

After climbing the steps, they still hadn’t truly entered the Longjia Daoist Temple; they needed to pass through a mountain cave.

Once they entered the cave, Ye Qiu couldn’t help but reveal a touch of astonishment.

Because he saw flowers in full bloom, right in this wide-open area.

Above their heads, a small patch of blue sky was visible, surrounded by stone walls. There was a clearing of thousands of square meters with a pond emitting steam and nearby, clusters of vibrant flowers competed for attention. Ye Qiu had never expected such a hidden paradise here.

It was like a celestial hermit’s retreat.

"Young Brother Ye Qiu." Just then, a figure approached.

Ye Qiu saw that this must be Hermit Qian Zhen, whom he had seen at the Martial Arts Conference.

"Master, Ye Qiu is here," Tang Yao said respectfully.

"I know, come, Brother Ye, this is my place of retreat. Don’t find it strange," Hermit Qian Zhen said without an air of superiority. He was very congenial and treated Ye Qiu as an equal.

Ye Qiu naturally did not dare to presume familiarity. He had researched some information about Hermit Qian Zhen and knew that he was a reclusive expert, skilled in Formations and astrological divination and regarded as a remarkable figure in the martial world. Ye Qiu wouldn’t dare take liberties based on the other’s warmth.

After seating himself, with Tang Yao standing behind Hermit Qian Zhen, Hermit Qian Zhen asked Ye Qiu about his martial lineage. Ye Qiu responded vaguely, saying that his master was an old man who had long lived in the deep mountains and shunned worldly affairs. Then, the two of them started discussing martial arts, and Ye Qiu was completely in awe of Hermit Qian Zhen’s understanding.

Hermit Qian Zhen always had an ethereal demeanor about him, quite fitting the profile of a Daoist hermit.

Whether it was his behavior or his prowess in martial arts, he was indeed a luminous figure.

Finally, Ye Qiu brought up the subject of Formations. Hermit Qian Zhen’s interpretations of ’Formations’ were profound and created an almost mystical sensation.

"You must have been very curious about how I was unscathed in the midst of a storm that day, right?"

Hermit Qian Zhen’s eyes flashed, as he had invited Ye Qiu here to ask about this very matter.

"Actually, the reason I was unharmed that day also involves some help from you, sir." Ye Qiu said.

"Oh? I wonder why Young Brother Ye would say that?" Hermit Qian Zhen asked.

Without a word, Ye Qiu reached into his chest pocket and pulled out a True Qi crystal and handed it to Hermit Qian Zhen.

Hermit Qian Zhen’s eyes flashed, he exclaimed, "Condensed True Qi!"
