Superhumans of the Dome City
Chapter 95 - 95 14 Roll Roll Roll Ton Ton Ton

95: Chapter 14 “Roll Roll Roll” “Ton Ton Ton 95: Chapter 14 “Roll Roll Roll” “Ton Ton Ton “You haven’t written her a single letter, have you?”

He really didn’t want to answer that question.

“…”

Therefore, Gongsun Ce remained silent, playing deaf and mute.

The Impermanence Law Enforcer raised a finger, his tone so sarcastically caustic it could set plants ablaze, “You sure do us proud in our land of etiquette!”

I would love to teach you the meaning of reason with my fists.

But this time, the Superpower User just couldn’t seem to fire up.

He closed his eyes, chanting like a monk in deep meditation, “I’m not worthy, okay, I’m not worthy, that’s that.”

Yan Qi threw his coat onto the table.

“I’m not here to sort out the psychological issues of little brats, go find someone who will,” he said, grabbing a handful of nuts from the fruit plate and chomping away, “Come back to me when you get a response.

Now get lost!”

I’d be an idiot to step foot in this rotten residence again.

The Superpower User almost blurted this out.

He realized he’d inevitably return to this place and had to swallow his angry words.

Instead, he gave a dry recount, “Today I encountered a weirdo in green clothes wielding twin swords, wanting to fight me.

I turned him down.”

“He’s an idiot.

There’s no shortage of nuts in the Impermanence Law community, but only this guy is foolish enough to study himself stupid.”

So being straightforward makes me an idiot now?

He looks much more decent than you.

Yan Qi immediately recognized who he was talking about; it seemed that man was indeed an Impermanence Law Enforcer, and he sounded somewhat famous…

He prodded further, “That’s it?”

Yan Qi yawned, “That fool is a menace to the public but no threat to someone like you.

Just let him be.

You won’t die from it.”

He appeared entirely nonchalant about the man in green.

Could it be that the man was truly a harmless Swordsman?

The Superpower User stepped toward the exit—

“Hold on there, Gongsun.”

He heard Yan Qi repeat the earlier question.

“Are you sure we’ve been the only two people here?

Did you see anyone else on your way here?”

“Just the two of us in this hall, no weirdos except for you.

If you’re worried, open every door and let me take a look.”

He replied briefly, waiting for Yan Qi’s explanation.

“Alright, now scram!

Scram, scram, scram.”

But the Impermanence Law Enforcer didn’t elaborate; he seemed to have asked just to be sure and then immediately issued the kick-out order after getting the answer.

“Absurd!”

The young man with grey hair left behind a curse.

With various thoughts in his head, he left Yan Qi’s temporary residence.

·

“Ts, ts, don’t dare come too close to me?”

After seeing off the grey-haired youth, the middle-aged painter muttered to himself on the chair.

“Qiluo…

Fancy-dressed woman…

Provocation?

Or maybe it’s a smokescreen…

Ha!

Better not mention it to Fatty Liu.”

Yan Qi meditated for a moment with his eyes closed, then suddenly showed a look of impatience.

He briskly walked to the entrance and pulled open the front door.

“Good evening, Sky Extreme.”

A Swordsman in green clothes stood in front of the villa, nodding to the painter in greeting.

Yan Qi’s gaze lingered on the visitor’s right hand.

The man in the green shirt was holding a black item, boxy in shape, a bit too large to fit into a regular pocket by the standard of personal belongings.

He asked with a lopsided mouth, “What’s that?”

The Ming Guest raised his right hand, putting the item under the front-door light, allowing the painter to see it clearly.

“This is a portable music player, for listening to music,” the Swordsman seriously explained, “I haven’t figured out how to use it yet.”

Sky Extreme nodded, “Do you have headphones?”

The Swordsman fumbled around his person and produced an old-fashioned pair of wired headphones.

“Plug the very end of the headphone cord into that small hole at the bottom of the box,” Yan Qi said slowly and clearly, “Put those two round things into your earholes; press the small round button on the top of the box to turn it on.”

The man in green did as instructed, lighting up the screen of the portable music player, illuminating his face, smiling like a child.

“It’s working.” The Ming Guest attempted to play the music, and he was quite lucky—it worked after just a few tries.

He listened for a moment, then frowned, “Not nice.”

The middle-aged painter roared, unable to tolerate it any longer, “If you don’t like the song, download your own!

What do you want me to do, sing you a tune?!

If you’ve got nothing important, shove off!!”

The Ming Guest reluctantly removed the headphones, pondered for a moment, and said, “You—”

“Smelled something weird, didn’t find anything.”

The man in green nodded and then asked, “Me—”

“Just deal with it if you want to listen to music.”

The dual-blade Swordsman seemed a bit stifled by the relentless torrent of responses.

He put on his headphones and tried a few more songs—none seemed to satisfy him from the look on his face—before he said, “Come on—”

“No time, I’ll play with you after I’m done with my stuff!”

The Ming Guest held it in for a long while before sighing, “Aiya!

Haven’t seen you for years, and your temper has gotten even worse than when you were younger.

Let’s meet some other time, Yan Qi.”

“Beat it, beat it, beat it.”

The man in the green shirt slowly ambled off, and Yan Qi, seemingly resolute in not wanting to entangle further with the fool, didn’t wait for him to get far before he closed the door with a “bang.”

·

Students troubled by youth and romance, adults worried over the past and the bigger picture.

Everyone has their own worries, including the carefree Ming Guest, who was pondering how to pack some good music into a box.

Do people really exist who have no troubles at all?

There are, at least for the moment.

In a high-end apartment in Fixed Wing District, sat a person free of all troubles.

“Dun dun dun dun dun~ Huh ah!”

Shiyu Ling chugged an entire can of beer in one go, slamming the empty can on the table, letting out a satisfied sigh.

Operating under the guise of Alice’s appearance, she donned a cool tank top and hot pants, watching an evening TV program in the home of a female college student.

What to do about Zero Island’s pursuers?

What are Dome City’s officials planning?

Where did the gray-haired Superpower User go?

What should she do about her own future?

Who cares!

Since things have come to this, might as well huddle up on the couch and watch TV.

Tonight’s program is pretty interesting!

…When a person has too many troublesome issues that cannot be solved by oneself, it’s pretty much the same as having no worries at all.

Traditionalists often call this mindset being carefree, while modern young people prefer to call it slacking off.

As they say, there will be a way out when a car reaches the mountain, and the boat will straighten by the bridge.

Right now, Miss Shiyu was maintaining a very good mental state.

Two weeks ago, the plan she hastily put together was wrecked by a Creator Realm Mage that came out of nowhere.

She fought with the notion of mutual destruction but was let off by Gongsun Ce; not only was she saved by her disdained kind, but she was also slashed a few times by a lunatic, and in the end, was taken in by a passing ordinary student.

For someone with a high view of herself, it was hard to imagine anything worse.

–It was mortifying; better off if she was struck with a clean slash.

Shiyu Ling had thus resigned herself to a cohabiting life with the female college student.

She paid the rent with her savings, with a clear conscience, and well, the place was actually quite comfortable to live in…

apart from the roommate having a bit of a screw loose, wasn’t everything else pretty good?

“Those officials really have patience.”

Shiyu Ling muttered as she stared at the television.

Just then, she heard the jingle of keys, and three seconds later, a blond-haired woman wearing a top hat entered her own home.

“I’m back, dear Alice~ You’re drinking beer again!”

“A can or two once in a while is fine,” Shiyu Ling crushed the beer can and tossed it into the trash bin, “You’re back so late—Hey, what is that?!”

The blue-haired woman let out a scream of horror.

Kaldesia Spencer smiled cheekily as she dug into her shopping bag and pulled out a set of black and white maid uniforms, along with a matching cute pair of cat ears.

She flicked the cat ears with her fingers, calling out loudly, “I brought you a gift~!”

Shiyu Ling held up a sofa cushion as a shield in front of her, “No, thank you, big sister, I don’t need such a gift!

Keep it for yourself!!”

The blond-haired devil laughed wickedly and pounced forward, as Miss Shiyu pointed to the other end of the sofa: “Sit down.”

“Ah.”

Kaldesia’s body stiffened in place, then she immediately turned and sat properly on the other end of the sofa.

The blue-haired woman wasn’t done with her orders, she grinned and pointed to the head of her roommate, “Put it on yourself.”

“I don’t want to!”

“Ah la, if you buy such things, be prepared to wear them,” Shiyu Ling commanded.

Under the orders of her roommate, Kaldesia squealed as she put the cat ears on herself.

“Gua—!

Alice’s powers are too excessive!”

The blond woman complained on the sofa, and Shiyu Ling cracked open another beer.

“After such a fuss and still haven’t learned your lesson, I’ve got nothing more to say.”

Kaldesia Spencer is a naïve college student full of whimsy.

She, like most people in the area, possessed a superpower, and also like most, was ignorant of the world of Impermanence Skill…

she didn’t even know the true identity of the person she rescued.

As a kind-hearted commoner, she was someone that Shiyu Ling could easily feel superior to.

Without even formally using Spiritual Image·Manifestation, she could control most of her actions.

If she had maintained such a good state of mind during a fight with a Superpower User, victory would definitely have been hers…

She felt indignant every time she thought about it, but unfortunately, one’s state of mind isn’t something that can change on a whim.

Shiyu Ling glanced sideways at her roommate.

“It’s been two weeks, you’re really not going to ask anything?”

The blond girl, hugging a sofa pillow, answered nonchalantly, “It’s the rule of this city~”

She added with anticipation, “But if Alice dear wants to talk, I’ll listen!

There’s always room for interesting stories!”

Shiyu Ling shook her head, and the blond girl flopped down on the sofa, bored.

The two watched TV in silence.

The quiz show ended, and after three minutes of advertisements, what followed was a tacky dating show.

Shiyu Ling picked up the remote, ready to change the channel.

“Alice dear.” Kaldesia looked at the male and female guests in their early 30s making their entrance on the screen and suddenly asked, “Have you ever been in a relationship?”

Shiyu Ling nearly spat out the beer in her mouth.

“Why bring this up so suddenly, a love talk?

No, no, big sister, although I’m experienced, I’m not interested in sharing with a little girl like you, and I remember you’re for the single life, right?”

The gold-haired cat-eared landlady looked at her guest with a peculiar gaze, subtly moving a bit further down the sofa.

“With that reaction, could it be that, despite looking like a mature, strong woman on the outside, Alice dear has the same zero experience with love as me…?”

Shiyu Ling slammed her beer can on the table, shouting in frustration, “Mind your own business!”
