381: Chapter 78 Weiyuan City Mythical Battle (3)_2 381: Chapter 78 Weiyuan City Mythical Battle (3)_2 “Lord Shiyu, we’re still short of the last bit of Zhi Pi Power,” Sakura Dance reminded.
“That’s exactly the point!
It would all be for nothing if Yidou Nengmai’s power were to arrive now~”
Shiyu Genmi whistled and watched, through his telescope, a red dot growing larger in the distance, before turning his gaze toward the giant locked in fierce combat with the Red Mage.
“We’re out of time for a deep analysis and too hurried to apply it; just shoved three Dragon Species into it and forcibly started the black box of Kong Hua Realm…
even used that giant’s blueprints!
I’m really envious of the mediocrities of Sky Capital.
You have so many resources to squander, daring to make such a money-sinking toy!”
He tossed the telescope aside and commanded offhandedly, “This is your last mission.
Go shoot that little thing down, stop as many as you can.”
“It would be my pleasure.”
The voice of Sakura Dance was so faint it was nearly inaudible.
As she spoke, the woman’s body dissipated.
She transformed into countless sakura-pink petals, which, carried by the mountain wind, drifted out of the shrine’s torii gate toward the distant airship.
As the entrance to the Kong Hua Realm on the inside of the world was about to open, Shiyu Genmi silently awaited that moment’s arrival.
He had calculated much, but the last bit of time was ultimately beyond anyone’s control.
In the end, it was a gamble, leaving the outcome to luck, to an unknown probability.
“What a tragic life!” Shiyu Genmi chuckled, “Fate always looming overhead, and even at the very end, there’s nothing that can truly be held in hand.
The only thing that people of this world can hold on to is the death they will eventually face.
Zhongyi, look at those cherry blossoms!”
Shiyu Zhongyi did as he was told.
He saw the Fu Yue Mountain Range tinted a delicate pink, as if the entire mountainside was blanketed with cherry blossoms.
“They’re beautiful.”
“That’s Zero Island!
No one knows when it will open, nor when it will wither, only managing to shine in the fleeting moment, making death the most magnificent scene of life,” Shiyu Genmi’s irreverent eyes carried an indescribable expression.
“Against one’s will, eh, Sakura Dance.
It is precisely for this reason that you are the god of Zero Island.”
He took off his hat, spinning it on his fingertip.
“Won’t you take a look at the cherry blossoms, Hidden Law Master?”
The black-clad Creator Realm Mage stood there impassively, not looking at the cherry blossoms, just staring blankly at him.
“Genmi, give it your all.”
“I still prefer your unruly disposition from before,” Shiyu Genmi put his hat back on, “Now, you really are…
my self-sacrificing good friend.”
·
“High-energy reaction detected ahead,” Mo Yuankai reported in the tone of a broadcaster.
“No trouble at all reporting, Brother, I’ve seen it and I’m already thinking of a solution!!”
Gongsun Ce wrapped the airship with white matter; failing to do so would have sent them plummeting from the sky.
Just half a minute ago, all was going splendidly, with pursuers held back by teammates, and three female friends in their gigantic robots battling the Red Mage, a scene straight out of the climactic episode of a heated anime…
Then they saw a thick spread of sakura color spilling down from the mountain top, engulfing the mid-mountain airship in a few breaths.
Every cherry petal was as sharp as a blade’s edge, pockmarking the airship’s surface upon the slightest touch!
He had seen this ability before; this was the Impermanence Skill of Sakura Dance, the Ninja Army Leader.
Yet this time, the scope of her ability was too vast, with everybody failing to detect her actual body, only able to see the pervasive sakura color obscuring their vision.
“Can the two Manifestation Mages think of a way to neutralize her Domain?” Gongsun Ce shouted hoarsely.
Shiyu Ling anxiously said, “I’m trying!
She’s not even using a Domain; these petals are Sakura Dance’s Divine Communication!”
“Whose Divine Communication has such a vast range?!
Even the water beast with home ground advantage doesn’t have such a broad scope!”
Chuyun Linai stood up, her expression complex, “Of course, Sister Hua has a home ground advantage…
this is her shrine.” She extended her hand towards Shiyu Lianyi.
“Please, Shiyu Lianyi!
As we agreed, I’ll pay the price, give me a full enhancement for 3 minutes!”
“The price is losing the ability to fight after 3 minutes; the reward is a full enhancement for 3 minutes.” Shiyu Lianyi conducted the trade promptly and then closed his eyes, connecting to the ninja’s mind with his superpower.
He sensed the hiding place of the ninja.
The heart of the Sakura Dance was right in the center of these cherry blossoms, under the first torii gate of the long mountain staircase.
“The price is being unable to move autonomously for three minutes, the reward is being unable to dissipate one’s form for three minutes.”
A golden-ash light flashed across the balance, the power of the Curse Scale took effect along lines of causality.
The fluttering cherry petals stopped, converging in the middle of the mountain path into the elegant figure of a woman.
The superpower user crafted a white mass shield and tossed it to the witch, “Senior Sister, go for it!
Be careful not to trip over your skirt hem!”
“Bet my allowance for the month; I won’t let her stop you, no matter what!”
Linai caught the shield and with a leap from the edge of the airship, charged towards the witch on the mountain.
Sakura Dance drew her long sword from her waist, turning the blade into a whirl of cherry blossoms.
Linai slung the shield onto her back, not using it to block.
She threw a talisman inscribed with the character for “shield” which unfurled in the breeze and took the form of a shield.
The little witch drew out a long staff and tapped the paper shield, allowing herself to change direction in mid-air, while the shield advanced to meet the deadly cherry blossoms, dissolving the attack.
Shiyu Lianyi’s powers made her unprecedentedly light, and in the brief exchange, she had landed in front of Sakura Dance.
No wonder Shiyu Zhongyi retreated so quickly.
Linai thought; this power was too convenient.
The cherry blossoms turned back into a blade’s edge, Sakura Dance sheathed her sword, taking the initial pose of Iaido.
She didn’t draw her sword immediately, but instead smiled at her former friend.
“You’ve changed your clothes.”
Indeed, Linai was wearing a different attire today, one quite unsuitable for combat.
She wore a gray robe, her head crowned with a dazzling golden diadem, not exuding the temperament of a youthful girl, but carrying the solemn mystery exclusive to clergy.
These were the garbs she once wore at the Prayer Wish Festival, the legendary God robes Yidou Nengmai wore upon returning from the underworld.
“Anyway, I am a witch, after all…!”
Linai didn’t dare to slacken; even as she spoke, she swung her staff.
The female ninja had no intention to chat leisurely; her katana had already slashed out with lightning speed as soon as the witch opened her mouth!
The bright gleam of the sword left a semicircular afterimage in the air, and the staff’s midsection incredibly blocked the slash at the last moment.
“Domo, Chuyun-san.
I am a ninja from Zero Island, Sakura Dance.”
“Yeah, I am Chuyun Linai – even Shanqi was subdued, and at this point, you still claim to be a ninja?!”
The katana and staff collided several times while speaking, sparks flying within the small three-meter space, the wind stirred by the weapons as strong as a whip, the mere aftereffects painful enough to smart any flesh they touched.
“I really like this profession.” Sakura Dance lowered her sword tip slightly, inviting the witch to reach out with her staff.
Using a skillful technique, she pressed her katana downward to catch the long staff and then swiftly reversed the blade to slash upwards!
A secret Iaido skill came to her as naturally as if Linai had willingly presented her neck for the taking.
“Hiss–!”
Linai gasped, her neck bending back in an awkward pose, the end of her staff deforming from the force as the chain propelled the separated segments from below, simultaneously dodging and pushing back Sakura Dance.
Thanks to the enhancement from the Curse Scale, she was now able to keep up with the ninja’s swift attacks…
But even so, she had nearly been killed by a single stroke!
Linai’s forehead broke out in a cold sweat as she bluffed, “Just with karate, you won’t be able to take me down!”
“You’ve become stronger, Linai.”
Sakura Dance sheathed her sword regretfully.
She had wanted to spare her old friend’s life.
She reversed her long sword and thrust it into the earth.
But this time, Sakura Dance didn’t change into her ninja equipment; instead, she remained in her kimono, speaking as if reciting a poem.
“Those who live must perish, those who flourish must decline.”
No sound could be heard, only the quiet descent of cherry petals, fluttering in profusion.
The desolate hillside was instantly covered with cherry trees, their number even more astonishing than those they had seen on Purple Island, passionate like the final flourishing of cherry blossoms.
The white-haired, white-robed deity closed her eyes, standing alone amid a sea of cherry blossoms.
“Silent Phase · Manifestation, in the moment of silence, cherry blossoms in full bloom.”
