Chapter 293 - 293 42 Collective Wish Sacrifice 3_2
293: Chapter 42 Collective Wish Sacrifice (3)_2 293: Chapter 42 Collective Wish Sacrifice (3)_2 Shiyu Ling laughed even louder, “Haha!
Don’t you have the materials?
Why not kidnap that little girl and start there?”
“Will you please shut up?”
After the old blacksmith waited for them to finish quarreling, he slowly added, “See, using someone’s peace of mind as material won’t give you peace of mind yourself.
After all, the hardest thing to achieve in this world is peace of mind.
You should consider switching to something more practical.”
The Superpower User awkwardly bowed and took his leave, while Shiyu Ling laughed for quite a while before asking, “Finally giving up?”
“Not really, not really.
I was just asking, didn’t have high hopes anyway.”
“Today’s your lucky day!” Shiyu Ling mimic his tone vividly, “Do you now understand how feudal superstition harms people?”
“Miss Shiyu, since we’re already in Lord of God’s festival, let’s not talk about feudal superstition…” Gongsun Ce sighed while walking away.
Shiyu Ling thought the Superpower User was going to seek information from the “Sea Strange God”, but unexpectedly, he found an empty space at the end of the street next to an unvisited fish stall and set up a white table.
“…?” The female Hunter and the neighboring fish-headed man were equally curious.
They watched Gongsun Ce make two more chairs and then proceeded to mold four large flags, taking out a pen and writing something on them.
“What are you planning to do now?”
“You can also guess from the name of this festival.
Many of the hidden gods attending the festival are hoping to fulfill their own desires.
Unfortunately, even though the Lord of Gods are seasoned and wise, they still don’t know what they want.
Hence, they try their luck at such events,” Gongsun Ce wrote excitedly.
“Remember the Mirror Woman Room?
She wanted her own face, but because her desire was unclear, she kept staying in the mirror even though she received many offerings.
It was never enough to completely free her.”
The female Hunter recalled what someone had done to the Mirror Woman Room and unconsciously gasped, “You aren’t thinking of—”
“You guessed it, Miss Shiyu.”
As they spoke, Gongsun Ce finished the writing and planted the flags next to the table.
The flags, fluttering in the wind, bore the phrases: [Ironclad Breaks], [Wonderful Mechanisms], [Free of Charge], [Those Fated Approach].
The gray-haired young man then made himself a white melon hat, leaned back in his chair, looking exactly like a street fortune-teller.
He shouted, “Come take a look!
Direct from Master Morton, Western deduction and divination!
Discover your desires in three minutes, solutions offered in five.
Pure good deeds, no fees.
Try it, no risks involved, no scams!”
The fish-headed man next door was eating meatballs, and upon hearing this, his hand shook, dropping the takoyaki with a “plop” to the ground; the bald kappa across was sumo-wrestling with a rock-like monster, stumbled, and fell; a customer at the boomerang stall turned their head sharply, got hit straight in the face with the returning projectile.
Suddenly, the lively street went quiet, and dozens of eerie eyes turned towards them, Shiyu Ling wished she could devour this infuriating gray-haired meddler.
“All I wanted was to visit the festival, not stir up trouble, do you understand?!”
“Don’t rush, think about it, isn’t running a stall more fun than just browsing?”
Shiyu Ling grabbed the collar of the man, “I must be out of my mind to believe any of your nonsense!”
Gongsun Ce grinned awkwardly, raising his hands about to argue further, when he smelled a salty sea breeze.
He turned and sure enough, a pirate-dressed cyclops pushed through the crowd of spirits.
Fire blazed in its eye sockets, clearly furious.
The skeletal pirate bellowed like thunder, “You dare to defy everyone at the festival, are you trying to ruin it?!
Just because you’re lucky today, don’t think no one can handle you!!”
Gongsun Ce leaned on the table with a smile, “I’m just trying to help everyone.
Why are you so angry?
This is a gathering meant to fulfill desires, yet none of the Lord of Gods know what they want themselves.
Blindly moving about like headless flies, attending a hundred, even a thousand times won’t satisfy you.”
The cyclops slammed the table, fuming, “Such a simple logic, and you think you need to spell it out?!
We gods have pondered this for thousands of years without a clear answer, what could a foreign Calamity God possibly understand?!”
“Way too arrogant!” “Doesn’t know the rules…” “Quick, call the witch from the shrine.” “Don’t let him cause more trouble!”
The words of the cyclops clearly resonated with the gathered spirits and demons, causing a commotion around.
However, Shiyu Ling keenly noticed that quite a few silent hidden gods had a glint of hope in their eyes.
She sat on the white stool, intrigued to see how Gongsun Ce would respond.
The Superpower User wasn’t bothered at all, raising his index finger and giving it a wiggle, that overconfident demeanor instantly annoying.
“You might not know this, Mr.
Cyclops.
As a Calamity God, I naturally possess various unimaginable divine skills.
Where others have issues, I can evaluate and understand everything clearly…” he rolled his eyes, “I know what you’re going to say.
No evidence, seeing is believing!
Let’s see how accurate I am!”
Coincidentally, recently fed hungry ghosts drooled as they passed by, Gongsun Ce beckoned them over, “Come on, let me show you!”
The bluish-purple ghosts glanced at the flags, held their stomachs and laughed, “Haha!
We know our desire!”
The cyclops laughed angrily, “Kid, you’ve revealed your trap with your first sentence!
Who doesn’t know that hungry ghosts desire food!”
