Superhumans of the Dome City -
Chapter 229 - 229 10 Ninja
229: Chapter 10 Ninja 229: Chapter 10 Ninja At 5 p.m., a small van carried two people into Cangshou District.
They first entered an underground garage at a secluded location and then walked through a secret passage for about 20 minutes.
When the van finally came out of the passage, a green-painted modified airplane was within sight of the passengers.
“I know they love biotechnology,” Gongsun Ce said grimly, “but did they really have to paint the airplane green too?”
“This airplane is named the Lightning Caterpillar,” Shiyu Lianyi stated solemnly, “The designer bestowed his childhood dreams onto it, hence his insistence on its special paint job.”
Shiyu Ling’s voice carried a hundred percent emptiness and twice the certainty of that.
“The people of your City of Skies all have issues.”
With not a shred of bias, just the fact, there was no room for rebuttal.
The two investigators, wearing long overcoats and carrying suitcases, stepped out of the van.
Gongsun Ce looked affectionately at the driver and said, “Brother, if I don’t come back, remember to smash my computer, physically destroy it.”
“I will,” Shiyu Lianyi added in his mind, I will bring these words to Qin Qianbai.
He watched the two walk towards the nearby airplane and silently activated his superpower.
(Don’t worry, Gongsun.
Sister Ling despises Zero Island and the institute the most, your vendetta from the City of Skies is trivial compared to that in her heart.)
Gongsun Ce was not surprised.
The ever-so-important Shiyu Ling had accepted that freedom-restricting collar.
It was clear how much she wanted to personally put an end to her past.
(She never hated me.
What do I have to worry about?)
Gongsun Ce waved his hand backward and turned to ask, “So, is the mission officially starting now…
Miss Shiyu, shall we at least get along with masks on until we return to the City of Skies?”
The blue-haired woman replied incredulously, “What are you talking about, young man?
Shiyu is the target of this mission.
You’re joking again, big sister here sure can’t misremember such information…”
She behaved just like on the day they first met, casually resting on Gongsun Ce’s shoulder, teasingly saying, “Besides, weren’t we great partners in preventing the Dragon Disaster in February?”
I have to admit, your psychological quality is now superior.
“Needless to say?
Happy to team up with you again, Miss Hunter.”
“I feel the same, Superpower User~”
·
The boarding ramp retracted, swallowing Alice Adar and Gongsun Ce into the belly of the Lightning Caterpillar.
The uniquely named modified airplane began to crawl swiftly on the runway like a giant green caterpillar, leaving behind clear traces, and finally leapt into the sky.
Mr.
Shiyu looked up at the caterpillar in the sky, deeply feeling that this mission was fraught with fateful challenges.
“Uh, off you go.” An unnoticeable man suddenly came near the car, “Zero Island is an intriguing place, I haven’t been there in years.”
“Hello, Mr.
Ming Guest,” Shiyu Lianyi greeted respectfully, “Are you also setting off?”
Ming Guest appeared quite leisurely, holding a shopping bag with swim trunks, goggles, and beach shoes.
“I’m thinking of diving in the Southern Ocean Islands,” Ming Guest said cheerfully, “Would you like to join me?”
If his companion were Kardesia instead of Ming Guest, Shiyu Lianyi believed he would have been tempted.
“Thank you…” he sighed, “but I also have my own mission.”
·
The turbulence during Lightning Caterpillar’s takeoff forced Gongsun Ce to use telekinesis to secure them both to their seats.
The two partners preferred not sitting together, resulting in Gongsun Ce and Shiyu Ling separated by an entire aisle.
Gongsun inserted his friend’s chip into his phone, muttering, “Now is the time to discuss the mission background…
and then we can grab our weapons and take out the enemy.”
“You still need weapons?” Shiyu Ling remarked sarcastically.
It’s just a metaphor.
After the data chip was scanned, Gongsun Ce’s phone screen was taken over by a UI similar to a live streaming room.
A pink-haired girl on the screen waved cheerfully, pulling up a bubble-shaped message box: [(・∀・)☆ Data reading complete!
Need a voice explanation?]
He glanced at Shiyu Ling sitting next to him and quickly typed back: [Thanks, but I’ll read the text.]
[(´·ω·`) Oh, okay.]
Qiluo receded to the corner, and the display switched to a mass of text.
Gongsun Ce skimmed through it, combining it with the geography he had learned in high school, and made a brief summary.
·
Zero Island is located to the east of the Yong Guang Empire, with a current total area of approximately 400,000 square kilometers.
According to statistics from the beginning of the year, its total population is 173,777,644.
The earliest global documentation of Zero Island appears in the “Geography of the Inner Seas,” under the section “Unusual Islands,” which was written during the Great Expansion period that began in the Yong Guang Calendar year 200.
The Empire’s navigators over 1800 years ago recorded it as:
“…The land is mostly rugged mountains with few flat plains, devoid of any rare treasures, frequently afflicted by Dragon Disasters.
…The natives are primitive, uncivilized, speak a different language, and follow pagan religions.
…Nothing valuable is found there, thus it is named Zero Island.”
To put it plainly, the island has many mountains and few plains, rare items are nonexistent, Dragon Disasters occur frequently; the local barbarians babble unintelligibly, not speaking the Empire’s language; it’s not a suitable place for habitation, with nothing worthwhile, hence it’s called Zero Island.
