Superhumans of the Dome City -
Chapter 165 - 165 57 Accounting Part 1_2
165: Chapter 57 Accounting (Part 1)_2 165: Chapter 57 Accounting (Part 1)_2 A grand plan had been underway for a long time, known only to him in its entirety.
Yet, on the eve of its initiation, a twin-blade thief, appearing out of nowhere, snatched away his Walkman.
Without the negotiation materials, all the arrangements were ruined.
He had no choice but to switch gears and accept the commission from Dust Explosion.
He triumphed over the Red Lion, but he was still defeated.
After this episode, how many would leave the organization?
“Boss…” “Boss!” “Boss.”
The voices of his subordinates echoed in his ears, indistinct.
Scenes from his arrival in the Sky City flashed through his mind.
Forcibly taken to a city in the air.
A world of utter chaos.
Power that could only be wielded with followers.
Only violence could solidify one’s status.
Defeat enemies.
Climb to the top.
A prison with no escape.
An unbeatable foe.
Controlled by that single obsession, Demon spoke hoarsely, voicing thoughts he wasn’t even aware of.
“I must show some spine…”
“Please, have some dignity before dying; what kind of underworld boss are you?”
A sharp female voice sounded from nearby.
His vision blurred, he could barely make out a blue-haired woman stepping out of the shadows.
“Who are you…”
“The little kitty’s tenant.” A speck of black gleamed in her hand, “Time to pay the rent.”
She released the dart, and he lost consciousness.
In Cangshou District, at Central United University.
In afternoon’s chaotic battle, a considerable number of citizens had taken refuge in the academy.
After the hostilities subsided, they emerged, discussing who the victors were, which unfortunate’s home had been trashed, and which familiar store would need swift reconstruction or had narrowly escaped disaster…
Aside from a few members who had recently joined, the faces of most citizens were nonchalant: they were accustomed to such events.
Many had even stayed in the Dragon Disaster area two weeks earlier; this was nothing by comparison.
The purple-haired woman hid in the shadows until all the bystanders had left, then moved towards the laboratory building, step by step.
“Damn it…
Damn it!”
Covered in dust and blood trickling from the corner of her mouth, bruises all over and a particularly noticeable contusion on her face, she was a sorry sight.
She should have reported back to the lab immediately.
But for Dust Explosion, who thought she was above everyone else, being seen in such a sorry state by commoners was more painful, more intolerable than any injury…
“I’ll remember this…
Just you wait…”
She locked today’s humiliation in her memory.
She would not forget, never would she forget, and she would take revenge for this defeat one by one.
Starting with that loud-mouthed middle school kid, followed by Test Subject 293, whom she would subject to unforgettable torture, and finally, Demon, destroying everything he held dear, making that man weep and beg for mercy on his knees!
“…Just you wait!”
A college sophomore emerged from the building, his eyes met hers for an instant, and he quickly sidestepped to avoid her, saying nothing.
She scoffed as a wisp of Purple Smoke enveloped him.
“Sorry!
I didn’t mean…
Ah!”
Boom!
A small explosion sent him flying several meters.
The unfortunate student rolled on the ground, scrambled up, and ran off in panic.
“Tch.”
She dragged her weary body into the building.
Cecil Laboratory was on the fourth floor.
The research staff elevator was further inside, but she took the regular elevator to the fourth-floor corridor, stopping in front of a door marked with exaggerated signs like [High Risk] [No Access] [No Peeking] [Certain Death] [Dangerous Biological Weapons].
Dust Explosion knocked forcefully on the door.
“Doctor, it’s me!
Please, get a doctor to help; I’m injured.”
The iron door silently opened inward, and a grey-blue-haired woman stepped out just then.
She had a neat, short haircut, light lipstick on thin lips, dressed in a black form-fitting mini-dress with a white lab coat over it.
She was pretty but far from approachable.
The unwelcome aura wasn’t just because of her cool demeanor; it also had to do with the lab coat she wore—synonymous with the researchers, the citizens referred to it with fear and prejudice as the “white coat.”
Dust Explosion hesitated, then smiled and raised her hand.
“Here comes the doctor miss~ It’s rare to see you so enthusiastic!
Please, treat me~”
The doctor’s eyes slid in her direction, her voice as indifferent as usual.
“Good evening, Miss Yun Yinglang.
Doctor Cecil asked me to tell you, you’ve been dismissed.”
“……What?”
Dust Explosion’s hand froze in midair.
Dismissed?
Could such an indifferent person make jokes?
It’s indeed rare.
Since she had known this person, she’d never heard her say anything unrelated to work.
Weren’t they the ones who hired her in the first place?
She was a top-level superpower user.
It was just one failure; how could the laboratory bear to…
Then, astonishment, surprise, and disbelief turned into uncontrollable fury.
“It was that lazy woman who had me deal with it!!”
There were many ways to deal with the escape of an experimental subject, and you chose the worst one.
The doctor didn’t want to waste words explaining this.
She wasn’t the other’s friend or senior, just a colleague.
Now that Dust Explosion had been dismissed, there was no longer any association between them.
She only said, “I’m going out on a call, please step aside.”
In an instant, Purple Smoke filled the narrow corridor, and the raging purple-haired woman was about to attack on the spot.
“You—!”
What stopped her was the doctor’s right hand.
When her delicate fingers lifted, the purple-haired woman’s clothes silently split in two.
A red line emerged on the flawless skin in the center of her chest,
as if it had been cut by a sharp scalpel straight down the middle, Dust Explosion’s chest opened to either side.
Muscles, bones, internal organs—all were intact, but missing one red organ.
The piece of flesh known as the heart was pulsing in the doctor’s hand.
Dust Explosion stood rigid, as Purple Smoke voluntarily faded.
The doctor released her hand, letting the heart return to the woman’s body.
The slit on her chest closed up seamlessly, leaving no trace.
Only the still-torn clothes proved what had just happened.
“Please refrain from fighting on school grounds.”
The purple-haired woman slumped to the ground weakly.
The doctor stepped over her, leaving the narrow corridor.
The elevator doors opened, and a blue-haired woman in hunting attire walked out.
They passed by each other without exchanging glances.
Shiyu Ling approached the iron door, wearily stating, “Do not take any action.”
Dust Explosion didn’t move.
Shiyu Ling, clutching her purple braid, stepped into the shadows and disappeared.
“Yawn~ Recovery work complete.”
The aftermath involving the superpower user was over.
And there were some things that required another expert’s responsibility.

Time went back to not long before.
It was only after learning that Ming Guest had retreated and the network spread was halted that Director Liu of Cangshou District finally sighed in relief.
He grabbed the records of Ming Guest’s whereabouts and stared at the map, continuing to trace the route.
The man with thick glasses cautiously asked, “Director, what are you doing?”
The pencil lines densely covered the map, encompassing every area of the Sky City.
These were the paths Ming Guest had taken in three days.
Liu Zhongwu spent an afternoon evading electronic surveillance, meticulously drawing it out, and now finally added the last touch.
The focus and the starting point of Ming Guest’s journey coincided; it was a clothing store in the central district.
“Settling the total account.”
Liu Zhongwu jabbed the pencil tip upward; on the map, in Thorn District, a slow-moving bright spot appeared.
The portly middle-aged man rose from his chair, gave a few instructions to his subordinates, took the map, and walked out the door.
He muttered angrily, “Now that you’re here, don’t even think about leaving.”
