Chapter 908: Chapter 918: Big Fish! (One more)

The first meeting with Azure Dragon.

It must be said, as one of the Four Protectors of the Dragon Group, he truly lives up to his name: a Azure Dragon among men.

With an air of elegance, he doesn’t seem like a Martial Artist at all, but rather like a teacher who imparts wisdom!

At this moment, Azure Dragon was staring at Tang Zhong for quite a while before bursting into laughter: "I’ve long heard that the Dragon Group has produced an unparalleled genius. Seeing you today, you do indeed live up to the reputation!"

Tang Zhong looked at the refined man before him and said, "I’ve also heard much of Azure Dragon of the Dragon Group. I originally thought you’d be a burly Martial Arts master. Seeing you today, I realize I was quite mistaken!"

"Haha, didn’t expect that, did you?" Azure Dragon chuckled.

Tang Zhong shook his head.

"Little friend Tang Zhong, it’s surprising how well we hit it off on our first meeting. Just earlier, we fought side by side. Judging by your age, you’re a good dozen years younger than me. Why don’t you call me big brother?" Azure Dragon said with a smile.

"Big Brother!" Tang Zhong replied, looking at Azure Dragon.

People make friends for no other reason than an affinity!

After exchanging only a few words with Azure Dragon, Tang Zhong already felt the aura emanating from him—scholarly and refined, like a true gentleman.

"Little brother!" Azure Dragon said with a chuckle.

"By the way, Big Brother, do you know what kind of place this is?" Tang Zhong asked.

He wouldn’t forget the urgent matter at hand.

Azure Dragon’s expression darkened as he replied, "This... I don’t know either. It’s my first time here!"

Then, without delay, he continued, "You must have seen those strange sights on your way down, right? Are you not utterly amazed?"

Tang Zhong nodded. To be honest, he had never imagined that beneath the Emperor’s Mausoleum lay such a mystical Cave Heaven.

To think that an entire underground world exists here—it’s truly shocking!

"By the way, that Puppet earlier—what exactly was it?" Tang Zhong asked. That enormous Puppet had completely shattered his understanding. It appeared to be made of copper, yet a heap of scrap metal had come to life.

"That should be a Warring States Puppet. When I first arrived here, it attacked me directly. But now that I think about it, it’s puzzling—who could have created such an enormous Puppet during that era? Other than Lu Ban or his successors, I’m afraid no one else could achieve such a feat!" Azure Dragon said.

Lu Ban, Master Maker, was renowned for tinkering with mechanisms and Puppets.

"But what’s even more concerning now is why these Puppets came to life, and also... how does one explain this Cave Heaven?"

Tang Zhong furrowed his brows. That was indeed a pressing question.

An underground space—complete with a sky—was simply beyond reason.

Azure Dragon glanced around and said, "There’s no way to explain it!"

Indeed, it was inexplicable.

"Our only choice is to continue searching for the Raw Stone vein. Let’s move forward!" Azure Dragon said.

Tang Zhong nodded and immediately followed, not daring to hesitate.

In the end, they would surely uncover the answers.

After defeating the Warring States Puppet, they encountered a river flanked by valleys on both sides.

A misty white aura suffused the area, evoking a feeling of divine majesty!

Yet, it was eerily quiet.

The silence only heightened the sense of dread.

Azure Dragon and Tang Zhong carefully surveyed their surroundings.

"Stay alert," Azure Dragon murmured.

He clenched his fists tightly.

"Mm," Tang Zhong nodded.

As he observed his surroundings, he couldn’t help but feel that this mysterious place was akin to Kunlun—equally enigmatic!

A river beneath the ancient Emperor’s Mausoleum, buried for thousands of years.

By now, the two had reached the riverbank, where several wooden boats lay in wait.

"It seems if we want to leave here, we’ll have to cross on these boats!" Azure Dragon said.

"Let’s board!" Tang Zhong nodded.

Both of them climbed onto the wooden boat. As soon as they boarded, the boat began to creak and groan, revealing its ancient age.

"Let’s set sail!" Azure Dragon said.

The boat had oars, which Azure Dragon picked up to steer.

Soon, the wooden boat started to glide along.

The water was green, teeming with countless tiny organisms.

As the boat ventured deeper into the valley, the mist grew thicker and thicker, obscuring their path entirely.

Fortunately, they were surrounded by valley walls—otherwise, they would surely collide.

Tang Zhong sat on the boat, narrowing his eyes and scanning his surroundings. He could feel the energy of the Raw Stone nearby, and it was growing stronger.

It seemed... it was right beneath the water!

Suddenly, a wave of killing intent surged forth.

"Something’s wrong!" Tang Zhong immediately stood up from the boat, cautiously observing its surroundings.

Hearing Tang Zhong’s words, Azure Dragon’s brows furrowed tightly; he trusted Tang Zhong had sensed something.

Sure enough, bubbling noises arose from the water’s surface, as if something was about to emerge.

The killing intent drew nearer—it was just nearby.

With a resounding bang, the entire boat shook violently, as though struck by some underwater force.

"There’s something in the water—stay sharp!" Tang Zhong shouted loudly.

Boom after boom, the sounds of collisions increased. The boat was riddled with cracks in several places.

Being so ancient, the wooden boat couldn’t withstand such abuse.

At that moment, a massive fish burst out from behind Tang Zhong—a creature far larger than ordinary fish, measuring three meters long, as if it were a small shark. Yet this fish was covered in gleaming scales, and what stood out most was the sharp White Bone protruding from its head. Its body was riddled with spikes, pale to an eerie degree, with even its eye sockets ominously white.

After bursting out of the water, the fish swung its tail and plunged back into the river with a splash.

Only then did Tang Zhong clearly see what was attacking the boat.

"What in the world... is that thing?"

"No idea!" Azure Dragon said grimly.

The two had encountered countless bizarre entities before, but they had never seen anything like this.

"Watch out!" Azure Dragon suddenly shouted.

From beneath their boat, a sharp White Bone pierced straight through, splitting it entirely.

With a crunch, the entire boat disintegrated, falling apart completely.

Tang Zhong and Azure Dragon scrambled to escape. As the boat shattered, the two leapt away and landed on the stone walls surrounding the river.

The river’s edge was lined with stone walls.

The duo ended up on opposite sides.

Tang Zhong clung to the stone wall, then looked at where their boat had been moments earlier—only to find that it had vanished without so much as a splinter.

"Are you alright?" Azure Dragon called from across.

"I’m fine!" Tang Zhong replied.

"Good. Now that we’ve lost the boat, if we want to keep moving forward, we’ll have to stick to this wall. Be careful!" Azure Dragon shouted.

"Understood!" Tang Zhong said, then began inching his way along the wall.

They couldn’t see what lay ahead.

If they could, they would discover that at the far end of the valley stood a sheer cliff. Embedded within the cliff face was a sleeping visage—a human face frozen in slumber.
