Chapter 66: Sister Mina, You...
Chapter 66: Sister Mina, You...
Afraid of waking him, Mina withdrew her hand and murmured, "He seems even handsomer than Brother. Brother, is it your spirit watching over me from above?"
Perhaps accustomed to talking to herself in an empty room, Mina continued, "Jake, do you know that in just a few months at Shigella, you’ve helped me immensely? If not for Brother’s blessings, how could you have suddenly appeared before me?"
"Indeed, a Scorpio man is the best match for my Pisces."
No one would know that the dignified "Shigella" sales manager now behaved like a love-struck naïve young girl, relying on zodiac signs to find her future partner.
Withdrawing her gaze, Mina stood up and fetched another bottle of wine from the cabinet. Without letting it breathe, she poured a glass, stirring it gently with her slender hand as she waited for Jake to wake up.
Before long, Jake groggily opened his eyes, habitually scanning his surroundings. Seeing Manager Mina, he remembered his situation.
"Damn, I actually passed out drunk."
He quickly stood up to apologize to Manager Mina. "Sister Mina, sorry about that, I was out of line."
"Mmm, I should be the one apologizing for making you drink so late," Mina replied, also standing up.
She was still wearing that same sheer, sexy white nightgown, her alluring figure and red lingerie faintly visible. The just awakened Jake had already consumed coffee and liquor, and now, faced with Manager Mina’s seductive body, his throat felt parched, his body burning with restlessness. He silently averted his gaze, thinking to himself, "How did I end up getting drunk first?"
"It’s no trouble at all. Since it’s the holidays and I don’t have much going on, feel free to call me anytime in the future. I’ll make sure to answer the call." For Manager Mina, Jake felt more gratitude, admiration, and respect than affection. Yet, the genuine melancholy and wistfulness he sensed from her during their earlier drinking session had piqued his interest.
He was curious about what kind of woman Manager Mina truly was.
Hearing Jake’s smooth talking, Mina curved her beautiful eyes into a smile, her heart fluttering as she said sweetly, "Then it’s settled. Next time I call you, you can’t refuse."
"Definitely, definitely." Jake glanced out the window, wondering if his aunt was already asleep by now.
"Sister Mina, it’s getting late. I should head back." Before waking up, Jake had seen Manager Mina holding a glass of red wine, making him uneasy. He wanted to leave as soon as possible.
Mina suddenly realized how late it was and apologized, "Sorry, when I drink, I tend to lose track of time..."
"It’s fine. Well, Sister Mina, I’ll be going now."
"Mmm, alright."
"It’s cold outside, no need to see me off!" With that, Jake hurried downstairs.
"Thud."
Jake opened the door, and the chill outside made him shiver. He was relieved that Manager Mina hadn’t tried to keep him longer, otherwise he’d surely be too drunk to leave tonight.
Before his racing heart could settle, the sound of Manager Mina coming downstairs from the second floor reached his ears.
"Jake, wait a second." Mina called out to him as she descended.
"What’s up, Sister Mina? Something else?"
Braving the cold wind, Mina’s flimsy white lace nightgown fluttered behind her, her ample breasts and long, slender legs fully on display.
Seeing this, Jake worried that someone outside might catch a glimpse. He considerately moved to close the door, figuring a little more time wouldn’t hurt. It wasn’t like Manager Mina was planning to let him stay the night.
"Jake..."
He heard Manager Mina softly call his name, then in a blur, the enchanting figure that had just made his mouth go dry was suddenly pressing tightly against him in an embrace.
Manager Mina’s full, voluptuous breasts collided with Jake’s chest. The thin white nightgown might as well have not existed, allowing him to feel the resilient bounce of those two ample mounds.
She rose slightly on her tiptoes, her arms wrapping around Jake’s waist.
The mature fragrance of her body lingered in the cold air, until Jake breathed it in deeply.
"Sister Mina, you..." Jake froze in place, stunned by Manager Mina’s actions. One of his hands remained motionless on the doorknob, as if time had stopped.
"I forgot to tell you something." Due to their height difference, Mina’s head rested against Jake’s jaw.
"About the mole, thank you. I’ll keep the promotion to team leader in mind, so don’t worry." Having said her piece, Mina calmly released Jake and stood before him, looking radiant.
"Uh... okay." Jake didn’t know how to respond, dumbly waving goodbye.
"Click." The door finally closed.
Inside, Mina giggled to herself, then turned to go upstairs, muttering, "Was Jake blushing just now? So cute."
Outside, Jake’s heart pounded wildly—not because of Manager Mina’s unexpected hug or her thanks, but because during the embrace, he had inadvertently eavesdropped on Manager Mina’s "inner voice."
"Did I hear that right? Sister Mina likes me?"
Jake had never doubted the reliability of his mind reading ability, but it was so sudden. Manager Mina actually had feelings for him?
As before, Jake respected Manager Mina more than he fancied her, likely because she was his superior. Though her beauty rivaled his aunt’s, he had never dared to entertain inappropriate thoughts about her before.
Of course, with such a stunning woman in his arms, if Jake claimed he hadn’t felt even a flicker of lust, he’d be lying to himself. He was a healthy, red blooded man!
"Maybe I misheard?" Jake suddenly recalled the unfamiliar affection he sensed before passing out, when it was just the two of them.
"Could it be...?"
He forcefully cut off that train of thought and hurried back to his Volkswagen.
The warmth inside the car helped calm him down. "Since when have I become so popular?"
Jake wasn’t one to boast, but during college, all three of his relationships—including the one with Mia—had been initiated by the girls. Back then, he was too focused on earning tuition to spare any money for dating.
So when the first two realized they were dating a broke guy, they cut their losses early. Ironically, this worked in Jake’s favor, leading him to Mia.
"Whatever, no point overthinking it. Maybe I really was just drunk and reading too much into it." After all, his interactions with Manager Mina hadn’t been that frequent.
Picking up his phone, he decisively called for a designated driver. Jake started the car and drove to the neighborhood entrance to wait for the driver’s arrival.
The Wandar neighborhood where Manager Mina lived was just as upscale as his aunt’s Shangrilla, with housing styles leaning toward standalone villas, like a scaled down version of his mother in law’s mansion.
The designated driver had been waiting for business near a hotel close to the neighborhood. After receiving Jake’s call, he rushed over and quickly drove Jake home.
Jake had initially considered stopping by his aunt’s place, but a glance at the time showed it was almost 1 a.m.!
Who knew how long he’d spent at Manager Mina’s?
Figuring it was best not to disturb his aunt, he took a hot shower and went straight to bed.
