Chapter 92: Chapter 92 "Celestial Roc" Cutter Suction Dredger!
(Thanks to "Little Winter g1" for the 500 starting point reward. Recently, I’ve been traveling for work, training from morning until night, making it difficult to release two Chapters a day. I can only squeeze in writing one Chapter each night. My apologies, but I’ll return to two updates per day once my business trip ends. Thank you all for voting and supporting every day, much appreciated!)
Driving Hai, Jiang Cheng circled the reef several times and used the Island Tycoon System’s auxiliary function to survey the hydrology, geology, and other natural conditions here.
Once the system collected all the information, Jiang Cheng left the area satisfied.
One must admit, this unnamed reef, in terms of both geographic location and natural environment, is very impressive.
The waters here are calm, the area is vast, and within hundreds of nautical miles, Jade Island is the only island, with a sufficient distance from the coastlines of other countries.
This excellent geographic position will inevitably make it a strategic location in the future.
It can be said that its future value is not necessarily inferior to that of Jade Island!
However, the current situation is that this reef is almost entirely submerged, making it impossible for anyone who wishes to occupy it to do so.
But this does not mean it will always be so!
Jiang Cheng is certain that with the advancement of technology, when some surrounding countries possess sufficient land reclamation technology, they will surely rush to incorporate it into their own territory.
Thinking of this, Jiang Cheng felt somewhat fortunate.
Fortunately, this world has not yet seen the advent of dredging shipbuilding techniques, and the technology for land reclamation has not yet developed. Otherwise, where would that leave him!
Driving Hai, it didn’t take long for Jiang Cheng to return to his residence on Jade Island.
Upon returning to his residence, he immediately delved into intense and busy work.
...
Three days later, the research and production personnel at the second dock on Octopus Island received a shipbuilding blueprint from Jiang Cheng and were given the highest-level secret directives from Jade Island, requesting them to build this unusually styled large functional ship as quickly as possible.
Upon receiving this directive, the entire second dock temporarily shelved other ship production tasks, instead fully dedicating themselves to the construction of this new type of ship.
...
While the entirety of Jade Island was busy with shipbuilding, events occurred outside Jade Island.
These events weren’t too big, but not too small either.
In short, they still made an impact on the once booming Jade Island.
During this period, Jade Island’s appeasement policies had some effect, and ships were continuously sent to patrol nearby seas and search for suspicious vessels, which served as a deterrent to those who previously approached Jade Island unabashedly.
Under these circumstances, suspicious ships rarely appeared in the waters surrounding Jade Island, and those tourists who were originally worried about the safety of Jade Island regained their trust, and tourist numbers began to slowly rise again.
However, compared to the warming tourism industry, the situation of Jiang Shipping was slightly troubling.
Recently, after the pirate attack incident, some unknown ships have continuously loitered along the shipping routes of Jiang Shipping’s transport vessels. Although no serious incidents like the previous shooting occurred, these unidentified ships were no pushovers.
Often, upon sighting a Jiang Shipping transport vessel, they would suddenly change course and directly cut into the transport vessel’s path, often coming dangerously close to causing collisions.
It should be noted that Jiang Shipping’s transport vessels carry valuable goods. If a collision were to occur, leading to the sinking of a transport ship, the loss of goods would be minor; the most serious impact would be the significant tarnishing of Jiang Shipping’s reputation in the eyes of outsiders!
In encountering such situations, the authorities of Jade Island naturally reacted with great anger, dispatching personnel to investigate the origins of these unidentified ships.
However, with the vastness of the sea, tracking these ships proved extremely difficult. After investigations, it was only known that these ships set sail from some remote sea areas around Mindanao Island in the Philippines; no other details were known.
Faced with this result, Jade Island authorities were understandably helpless because, at present, there is very little they can do.
Even with advanced technology at their disposal, their military capabilities were simply too weak, leaving them unable to effectively deter these troublemakers, thus allowing situations to increasingly spiral out of control.
And obviously, such things are impossible to conceal.
Before long, news reports frequently featured stories about risks of unknown ships nearly crashing into Jiang Shipping’s transport vessels.
As a result, Jiang Shipping’s clients became restless!
To them, the most important concern was the safety of their goods, with speed being secondary.
Thus, Jiang Shipping faced enormous scrutiny from clients, resulting in immense pressure on their end.
All of this pressure, of course, eventually accumulated on Jiang Cheng’s shoulders.
Fortunately, Jiang Cheng was somewhat mentally prepared for these developments.
In fact, after the first attack incident, Jiang Cheng foresaw that such harassment would never stop unless Jade Island demonstrated true strength, capable of crushing the barbaric acts of these hostile forces once and for all.
After all, Jade Island is indeed a snap point, and surrounding forces and competitors are likely growing impatient.
In this line of thinking, Jiang Cheng did not become overly anxious. He was merely waiting patiently for the final opportunity to counterattack, and when that opportunity arose, he would ensure that these adversaries paid a heavy price.
Otherwise, it would be insufficient to quell external doubts about Jade Island.
Time slowly passed amidst this bleak atmosphere.
...
Three months later, while the world seemed business-as-usual, a subtle change quietly unfolded within Jade Island.
Octopus Island, the second dock.
Under the cover of night, three identical massive ships slowly departed from the harbor at Octopus Island, setting course for the deep sea in the southwest direction.
Their speed was considerably slower than any vessel of Jade Island.
Thus by dawn, they had only traversed a few dozen nautical miles.
But by then, their massive silhouettes had become apparent.
These ships were indeed peculiar; from afar, they resembled enormous black sea dragons, dragging long tubular structures from their stern, and exuded a heart-stopping presence.
In addition, at their bow were two gigantic crab-like claws, glistening in the sunlight with a chilling shine.
These ships were none other than the recently developed dredgers by Jiang Cheng!
And Jiang Cheng had given them a grand name: Celestial Roc!
The Celestial Roc dredger was to be more formidable than the Tiankun, the most powerful dredger from Earth’s Hua Country, boasting nearly three times the dredging capacity!
In other words, while the Tiankun can dredge an island the size of a soccer field in a day, the Celestial Roc can dredge one three times that size!
This dredging capability could only be described as insanely potent!
