Su Chengyu, having refined all the toxins and swallowed a few elixirs, had recovered eighty percent of his mana when he suddenly heard Lin An’s scream. He immediately opened his eyes, grabbed the Dragon Slayer Sword, and flew towards the source of the sound.

"Su Chengyu, save me!"

Su Chengyu arrived at the edge of the pool and saw Lin An, stark naked, coiled up by a python that was opening its mouth wide, ready to swallow her whole.

"Evil beast! Begging for death!"

Su Chengyu leapt forward, and with one stroke of his sword, he beheaded the python.

"You! I... I will gouge out your eyes, I will kill you!"

Lin An’s face flushed red with shame and intense anger, truly filled with murderous intent, which Su Chengyu keenly felt emanating from her.

"How can you blame me for this? Who told you to come here and take a bath? I just saved your life." Su Chengyu explained.

Lin An was left speechless. She was of such nobility; not to mention having a strange man see her naked body, it was impossible even for a strange man to touch her ordinarily.

As she thought, Lin An’s eyes filled with tears. Although she was immensely powerful, she was still just a twenty-year-old girl at heart, not so mature on the inside, and had never experienced something like this.

She knew the situation wasn’t Su Chengyu’s fault—if it weren’t for his timely arrival, she would have died in the belly of the snake.

Lin An turned away, crouched down, and covered her face to cry. Hearing her sob, Su Chengyu also felt somewhat guilty. After all, he had seen the bare body of a young maiden, and though it was unintentional, it was still a discourtesy and an offense to a girl.

Su Chengyu scratched his head and said, "I’m sorry, I truly didn’t mean to. I promise, I will never tell a second person about this."

Hearing Su Chengyu’s apology, Lin An felt somewhat relieved. After sobbing for a while, still filled with anger and indignation, she said with puffed-up anger, "Get me a new set of clothes."

Su Chengyu hurriedly took out a set of clothes and placed them beside her, then was about to leave when Lin An, probably scared by the previous encounter with the python, quickly said, "Don’t go too far, and don’t turn around."

Su Chengyu nodded and took a few steps forward, Lin An quickly washed himself again and then put on Su Chengyu’s clothes, which were too large for him, making them look very loose on his frame.

Lin An came over with his hands clasped behind his back, and Su Chengyu said, "There are beasts everywhere in these mountains, it’s really too dangerous for you to go so far by yourself to take a bath."

"I felt so smelly, it was too uncomfortable not to bathe," Lin An said.

"My wound has healed, so should we travel overnight to Mist City or rest for the night before we go?"

Su Chengyu hastily changed the subject to business, trying to ease the tension and avoid the embarrassment.

However, Lin An didn’t respond and just stood beside Su Chengyu, slightly bowing his head with his hands still clasped behind his back.

"Hmm? What are you daydreaming about?" Su Chengyu asked with some confusion when Lin An didn’t speak.

"There’s one thing I need your help with..." Lin An’s voice was very soft, as if this was a difficult matter to talk about.

"What is it? Just tell me," Su Chengyu said, feeling a bit guilty and therefore acting more kindly towards Lin An.

"My... my undergarments are dirty, I washed them just now, can you use your mana to help dry them?"

Lin An’s voice got quieter as he spoke, with his entire face blushing red, his hands clenched tightly behind his back.

"Ah... well... as long as you don’t mind, I certainly can," Su Chengyu said, also taken aback for a moment, silently reciting the Calming Incantation to suppress a wicked thought that had begun to stir in his heart.

"Then close your eyes and don’t peek," Lin An said, feeling like her cheeks were so hot they could almost drip water.

"Okay."

Su Chengyu closed his eyes and extended his hands, at which Lin An finally took out her undergarments—small clothes and panties—that she had kept hidden behind her back and placed them in Su Chengyu’s hands.

Su Chengyu felt the silky fabric in his hands, which was of the highest quality material and felt exquisite to the touch, and he couldn’t help but feel nostalgic; it had been a while since he had touched such things. No wonder he had almost failed to suppress his wicked thoughts when he saw Lin An bare just moments ago.

Su Chengyu let mana flow from the palm of his hands and quickly dried the clothes. Lin An snatched them back immediately, then told Su Chengyu to close his eyes and turn around while she quickly dressed behind a large rock.

When Lin An emerged from behind the rock, Su Chengyu finally opened his eyes, continuing to steer the conversation elsewhere, "How did you end up in Pansi Valley today?"

"I saw anomalies in Pansi Valley and knew you had been discovered. Worried for you... that you couldn’t pick the Phantom Blossom, I couldn’t help but follow. As expected, with your strength, it was too difficult for you to pick the Phantom Blossoms; it was beyond your capabilities," Lin An said.

Su Chengyu rolled his eyes, "I know it was beyond my capabilities, why would I take the risk if not for you?"

"That’s why I came to rescue you! I’ve fought with the Spider Queen before and injured her; she’s definitely scared of me," Lin An boasted proudly.

"Had I known it would be so easy, why would I have bothered with all that effort? You could have just gone straight to Pansi Valley to demand the Phantom Blossom. You’re deliberately setting me up, aren’t you?" Su Chengyu pursed his lips and said.
