Chapter 861: Chapter 861: The Might of a Precious Technique
Both of these Sky Feather Clan members were brandishing spears, one of them older with a chin adorned with a salt and pepper goatee, while the other looked middle-aged.
The elder with the white beard caught up to Su Chengyu first, launching an attack with his spear. Su Chengyu felt the air around him swirling as he drew the Dragon Slayer Sword to meet the strike, but he was injured by the elder’s hit and spat out blood.
"So strong!"
Endowed with a robust physique, Su Chengyu had the dual protection of the Cui Xia Ring and the True Dragon Reverse Scale, making it nearly impossible for those below the Golden Core Realm to harm him; however, the power of the elder’s strike made Su Chengyu feel utterly crushed, instantly deducing that the elder’s realm was either the Golden Core Realm or the Martial Arts Supreme Realm.
The other Sky Feather Clan member caught up as well, and the two attacked from front and rear, leaving no chance for Su Chengyu to escape.
"This old man is of the Martial Arts Supreme Realm. You’re no match for him," the Heaven-Mending Stone said.
"What about you?" Su Chengyu asked.
"Not sure," replied the Heaven-Mending Stone honestly.
"When the fight starts, you try to hold off this old man as much as possible, and I’ll deal with the other one."
Without hesitation, Su Chengyu quickly arranged a battle plan, bracing for a tough fight.
"Why are you chasing me? I haven’t offended your Sky Feather Clan," Su Chengyu said, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.
"Human Trialist, you must die! Before your death, answer me one question, and I shall grant you a swift demise," the elder with the white beard, Tie Yuan, demanded.
"Then I shall not answer. I prefer to die in agony."
The various clans in the Kunwu Realm despised the Human Clan, a grudge built up over many years. Recently, the Sky Feather Clan had been antagonized and their leader injured by the Human Clan. This had left the Sky Feather Clan members seething with hatred towards the Human Clan. Since the escape of the woman in black, many Trialists in this area had been slain by the Sky Feather Clan—essentially, they killed every one they came across.
"Seeking death." With a murderous flash in his hawk-like eyes, Tie Yuan swept his spear horizontally and attacked once more.
The Heaven-Mending Stone flew from Su Chengyu’s wrist, its Five-Colored Divine Light flaring up to intercept Tie Yuan’s assault.
"Despicable Human Clan, all deserve death. Today, I’ll drink your blood and feast on your flesh," declared Tie Yi with an icy tone, brandishing his spear and charging forward, his killing intent surging. He was a Martial Saint, considered among the elite within the Sky Feather Clan.
"With just you? You can’t kill me."
Although Su Chengyu was injured, his mighty physique allowed him to swallow an Elixir and temporarily suppress his injuries. He summoned the Dragon Slayer Sword and faced his enemy.
Facing the Martial Saint, Su Chengyu dared not to be careless. He launched an attack with the Chaotic Sword Code, his Sword Qi crisscrossing through the air, colliding with the spear Qi of Tie Yi, but found himself slightly outmatched.
Knowing he needed to end the battle quickly before the Heaven-Mending Stone could no longer hold Tie Yuan back and the Martial Arts Supreme came to his aid, that would indeed be troublesome.
"Nature of heaven and earth, when dragon and tiger clash, endless thunder, heed my command!"
Su Chengyu, pointing his Longsword towards the sky, unleashed a Thunder technique, and suddenly a bolt of divine thunder plummeted down, striking at Tie Yi.
Holding his spear, Tie Yi’s Innate Qi-breaking energy surged, coalescing into a giant spear that clashed with Su Chengyu’s Thunder technique, thrusting straight at him.
A thunderous boom resounded as two irresistible forces collided, turning the sky bleak and filling the air with the sizzling presence of thunder and Tie Yi’s Innate Qi-breaking energy.
The giant spear shattered inch by inch, and the divine thunder was also spent and dispersed.
Su Chengyu, wielding the True Way of Controlling Thunder, was evenly matched with Tie Yi.
"Even with your thunder technique, it’s useless. Your realm is too low; you can’t hurt me," Tie Yi declared with a horizontal hold of his long spear, pointing at Su Chengyu with a murderous aura.
Enveloped by thunderbolt, Su Chengyu was equally brimming with fighting spirit. His eyes flashed with thunder as he flipped his left hand, and a small golden dragon took flight from his palm.
"Then try my True Dragon Technique!"
With a cold shout from Su Chengyu, his left hand reached skyward, and the small golden dragon swelled with the wind into a hundred-meter True Dragon, majestic and radiating a dragon’s supreme dignity.
A dragon’s roar was deafening!
Seeing the enormous True Dragon, Tie Yi was instantly stunned and felt an overwhelming pressure.
The True Dragon flew towards Tie Yi, unstoppable.
"So it’s a True Dragon? Today, I shall slay the dragon!"
Clenching his long hair tightly, Tie Yi flapped his wings and charged at the True Dragon with a velocity meant to tear through air, aiming to kill the True Dragon with the seven-foot long spear in his hand. The long spear gathered a flame-like radiance as Tie Yi spared no effort, pushing his Innate Qi-breaking energy to its limits.
The True Dragon opened its mouth and exhaled dragon’s breath, which was like flames, scorching and wild. The long spear in Tie Yi’s hand became unbearably hot, and he felt as if he were standing in a sea of fire. His Innate Qi-breaking energy crumbled and melted in the face of the dragon’s breath.
Tie Yi’s spear glow was quickly dissolved by the dragon’s breath, and he was struck, his body instantly scorched as if burnt. His wings caught fire, and he was blasted backwards. The True Dragon roared again and flew over, its massive claw striking down, pounding Tie Yi into the earth and leaving a huge pit where his body lay buried, life extinguished.
"Tie Yi!"
Tie Yuan, who was entangled with the Heaven-Mending Stone, saw Tie Yi injured by the True Dragon Technique and wanted to come to his aid, but the Heaven-Mending Stone’s Five-Colored Divine Light was indeed formidable, trapping him so he could only watch helplessly as Tie Yi was slapped dead onto the ground.
"Get lost!"
Tie Yuan swept his spear, the glow of his weapon cutting through everything, extinguishing the Five-Colored Divine Light of the Heaven-Mending Stone, which then flew back to Su Chengyu’s wrist.
"I can’t hold him off, run!"
At that moment, Su Chengyu’s face was slightly pale, having consumed a great deal of his energy with the cast of the True Dragon Technique, nearly depleting the mana in his dantian and reactivating the suppressed injuries in his body.
"Where do you think you’re going? Yield your life!"
Fury painted Tie Yuan’s face iron-blue as he charged at Su Chengyu.
Su Chengyu knew he couldn’t withstand a move from Tie Yuan in his current state, and he was not as fast either; escaping would not be easy.
With gritted teeth, he drew out a Fire-Engulfing Charm. A burst of flame leapt up, and he threw it out. Instantly, fire raged across the sky, blocking Tie Yuan’s advance.
As a Martial Arts Supreme, Tie Yuan dared not underestimate the Fire-Engulfing Charm. His body enveloped in Innate Qi-breaking energy, his spear glow scattered in all directions, holding back the flames.
Su Chengyu took the opportunity to employ The Cloud Rising Technique and fled.
Fortunately, The Cloud Rising Technique did not consume much mana. After flying hundreds of miles in one breath, ensuring Tie Yuan was no longer pursuing, Su Chengyu immediately dove into the Primordial Forest, concealing his aura and returning to the cave.
He must find a place to heal now; a strike from a Martial Arts Supreme was no small matter, and his condition was worsened by forcing himself to use the True Dragon Technique to slay Tie Yi.
In the cave, the firelight illuminated the cold stone walls. Since Su Chengyu’s departure, the woman in black had become restless, uncertain whether she was more concerned for Su Chengyu or for being discovered by the Sky Feather Clan. She longed to leave the cave, but remembering Su Chengyu’s advice, she found herself pacing back and forth inside, anxious and uncomfortable.
