Chapter 852: Killing the Martial Saint

Chapter 852: Chapter 852: Killing the Martial Saint

Su Chengyu burst out from the ruins, looking somewhat disheveled but uninjured, his eyes filled with murderous intent and rage.

"He’s not dead? This guy really has a tough life."

The onlookers were shocked to see that Su Chengyu was unharmed and not spitting blood.

Chu Huai had not expected that a martial saint’s strike would fail to injure Su Chengyu, but then he realized that Su Chengyu must have a protective dharma treasure on him.

"Even if you have a protective dharma treasure, you are certain to die today."

Chu Huai brought out his spiritual treasure, a massive Azure Dragon Crescent Blade, wielding it with an imposing presence.

"I originally wanted to disclose Kou Shishi’s whereabouts to you, but since you insist on killing me, let’s see who will be the prey today."

Su Chengyu gripped the Dragon Slayer Sword, emanating five-colored divine light, his aura greatly enhanced, suddenly advancing him from the fourth to the sixth layer of the Tongxuan Realm.

This was possible due to the Heaven-Mending Stone secretly assisting, allowing Su Chengyu’s realm to temporarily increase.

"You think to deceive me? I won’t believe a word you say, no matter what, you can’t escape death."

Chu Huai brandished the Azure Dragon Crescent Blade, chopping down in an attack; with the heavy weapon’s naturally wide, powerful, and dominating swing, it created a blade light that cut with the force of splitting a mountain.

Su Chengyu, unafraid, swung the Dragon Slayer Sword, sweeping out a wave of sword Qi that collided with the blade light. The greatly strengthened Su Chengyu matched Chu Huai’s power, the sword Qi and blade light evenly matched.

Chu Huai, dragging the Crescent Blade, launched himself forward, slashing horizontally with a sweep that bore the momentum of sweeping across an army. Su Chengyu used his sword to block, sparks flying, the Dragon Slayer Sword stopping the Crescent Blade’s slash and then thrusting straight towards Chu Huai’s chest.

Chu Huai was quick to react; the seemingly cumbersome Crescent Blade was extremely agile in his hands. He retracted the blade, its hilt blocking the thrust of the Dragon Slayer Sword, and then he swept the blade up, aiming to slice Su Chengyu open.

Su Chengyu immediately retreated to gain distance, slicing horizontally with the Dragon Slayer Sword, creating a rainbow-like sword Qi that aimed for Chu Huai.

Chu Huai, with a chop of the Crescent Blade, dissolved the sword Qi and leapt high into the air, tens of meters up, and slashed down with the blade once more.

"Mountain-Splitting Strength!"

This blade carved out a blade light tens of meters long, under which Su Chengyu seemed minuscule.

Having endured so many battles, Su Chengyu was rich in experience; behind him, a shadow of the True Dragon flew out. The Dragon Slayer Sword pointed, the True Dragon soared against the current, striking Chu Huai’s dominant blade light from Mountain-Splitting Strength. The Crescent Blade in Chu Huai’s hands was also a formidable spiritual artifact.

But Su Chengyu’s Dragon Slayer Sword had regained its might as a divine artifact, and although he was slightly at a disadvantage compared to Chu Huai at the Martial Saint Realm’s fourth level, he matched Chu Huai blow for blow with the might of the artifact.

"Mountain-Splitting Strength again!"

Chu Huai performed a somersault, the Crescent Blade slashing down once more. This was one of Chu Huai’s unique skills, known as the Triple Mountain-Splitting Strength, comprising three moves: the first move to gather strength, the second move stronger and more imposing than the first, and the third to release the full power of the Triple Mountain-Splitting Strength.

Feeling the second move’s strength surpassing the first, Su Chengyu responded instantly, executing the Chaotic Sword Code to neutralize it. As Chu Huai somersaulted once more, Su Chengyu did not hold back, the Dragon Slayer pointing skyward, chanting incantations, and unleashing a thunder technique to summon the might of heavenly thunder.

Boom!

A thunderbolt fell from the sky, instantly clearing the miasma and fog throughout the area. Su Chengyu, bathed in the majesty of thunder, had the Dragon Slayer Sword resonating endlessly, crackling with electricity infused with the endless power of heavenly thunder.

"Mountain-Splitting Strength!"

Chu Huai had personally witnessed Su Chengyu’s Thunder technique. That day, outside the Waiting for the Wind Restaurant, Su Chengyu had used his Thunder technique to slay three members of The League of Loyalty and knew full well the might of Thunder techniques should not be underestimated.

"Execute!"

With just a point of the Dragon Slayer Sword, myriad thunderbolts roared out. Chu Huai, on the other hand, wielded a Crescent Saber dozens of meters in length, slashing down with a force that truly seemed capable of splitting a mountain, unstoppable.

Although Mountain-Splitting Strength was an Earth Tier Martial Arts, it still paled compared to the Thunder technique. The latter was a force of nature, one of the strongest energies in this world, vast and irresistible, capable of breaking through the highest heavens.

The huge blade light of the Crescent Saber disintegrated inch by inch under the bombardment of the thunder.

"Thunder technique! This man isn’t highly ranked in his realm, yet he has mastered a Thunder technique—impressive indeed!"

"It looks like this Martial Saint from The League of Loyalty is going to be defeated."

"This is Quanzhen Sect’s True Way of Controlling Thunder. Is he a Quanzhen Disciple? But no, he clearly used the Heavenly Gossip Thirty-Six Swords from Qingcheng Mountain just before. How can he have both the signature techniques of Quanzhen Sect and Qingcheng Mountain at the same time?"

In the Kunwu Realm, where elites gather, there were naturally many well-informed people in Mist City who recognized that Su Chengyu had successively performed the Qingcheng Mountain swordsmanship and the Quanzhen Sect’s Thunder technique.

The relationship between the Four Holy Lands of Taoism was far from amicable, and their signature spells and techniques were taught only to core direct disciples, and certainly not to disciples of other sects. This indeed baffled many of the onlookers.

"Is he a disciple of Qingcheng Mountain or of the Quanzhen Sect?"

Meanwhile, outside of Mist City, a young man was flying towards the city on his sword, having seen the thunder falling over Mist City.

"True Way of Controlling Thunder? Could it be Brother Guo in Mist City? I need to hurry over and see."

The young man muttered to himself, then, with a gesture like a sword, he activated a sword technique, increasing his Sword Flight speed by a great deal and headed straight for Mist City.

Inside Mist City, Chu Huai’s three Mountain-Splitting Strength strikes did not defeat Su Chengyu; on the contrary, the True Way of Controlling Thunder struck him, causing severe injuries. He crashed to the ground, his body emitting a burnt smell, black as charcoal.

Chu Huai quickly stuffed several Elixirs into his mouth, then, ignoring his grave injuries, he fled hastily.

Having been defeated, he faced certain death. Chu Huai’s only chance of survival now was to reach the Teleportation Circle and leave Mist City through it.

But how could Su Chengyu give him the opportunity? He moved, vanishing from his original spot as if teleporting, and intercepted Chu Huai.

"You can’t escape," Su Chengyu said coldly.

Seeing that his escape route was cut off, Chu Huai realized the outcome of today’s events. The man who had been so eager to fight had instead become a clown.

"Your... power, how has it increased so much? Before entering the Kunwu Realm, you were just beginning in the Tongxuan Realm, there’s no way you could be my match. I can’t accept this!"

Chu Huai was reluctant to accept this. He had thought that as a Fourth Level Martial Saint, he would definitely overpower Su Chengyu, earning some recognition. But the strength Su Chengyu now displayed was too far removed from what it had been that day. It simply made no sense!

"Then die in your reluctance," Su Chengyu said.

Without wasting more words, Su Chengyu swung the Dragon Slayer Sword, and a blast of Sword Qi flew out—Chu Huai’s head fell to the ground!
