Chapter 746: Chapter 746: Illusory Mirror_1
Su Chengyu knew that against this half-brother of his, he had no room to resist or fight back.
If he had known from the beginning that Yu Feng was here to kill him, he would have rather died at the hands of Bei Tang Qi Meng. That way, he wouldn’t have to face the harsh truth that his biological mother saw him as a disgrace and a stain that needed to be obliterated.
Such a reality was unacceptable to anyone.
"Kill me, just kill me! But I’ll have you know, I’m not a coward and I’m nobody’s disgrace." Su Chengyu said, defiantly facing death.
Yu Feng replied coldly, "Your so-called bravery is a joke in front of me. Kneel down and meet your end."
Upon hearing these words, Su Chengyu straightened his chest, filled with a kind of indignant determination. He stared at Yu Feng, neither submitting nor showing fear.
Yu Feng sneered, with a flick of his finger, Su Chengyu’s kneecaps were shattered. Being seriously injured already, he could no longer support his body and collapsed onto the ground.
"Worthless piece, you can die now!"
Yu Feng held his fingers like a sword, a simple stroke would be sufficient to behead Su Chengyu.
But unexpectedly, Yu Feng’s finger did not strike Su Chengyu, but trailed behind, as Sword Qi poured out, meeting an attack that rushed from the air.
Two streams of Sword Qi burst in midair, followed by a massive explosion.
An elderly woman with a stooped figure and grey eyes appeared in the air and the next moment, she closed in.
This old grey-eyed woman was the one who had secretly watched over Su Chengyu and had even crossed paths with Ye Qingci.
Su Chengyu recognized the grey-eyed woman, her face seemed familiar, but he simply couldn’t recall where he had seen her.
The elderly grey-eyed woman flew to Yu Feng and asked, "Young Master Feng, what are you doing?"
"Killing him," Yu Feng responded coldly.
"You mustn’t!" the grey-eyed woman objected.
"Why not? His existence is a disgrace to our mother, he deserves to die," Yu Feng’s face remained frigid as he spoke.
"Young Master Feng, he’s your older brother. How could you bear to attack him? Moreover, your mother has never seen him as a disgrace. To Su Chengyu, all she feels is guilt and longing," the grey-eyed woman exclaimed.
"I don’t care," Yu Feng retorted, "I am determined to kill him. Mother only has one son, that’s me. This coward, he is not worthy to be our mother’s son, and certainly doesn’t deserve to be my brother. He deserves to die!"
Once he finished speaking, he launched another attack on Su Chengyu, but at that moment, a mirror appeared above Su Chengyu. The mirror shone with a radiant glow, enveloping him in a protective barrier. Regardless of how powerful Yu Feng’s attacks were, they couldn’t break through this protective shield.
"Illusory Mirror!"
Yu Feng recognized it instantly, this was his mother’s treasure.
With the Illusory Mirror in play, he couldn’t kill Su Chengyu.
"Granny, why are you stopping me? What’s the point of letting this youngster live? Allow me to kill him!" Yu Feng was furious.
The grey-eyed old woman shook her head, "I will not let you harm a single hair on his head."
Yu Feng narrowed his eyes, his face darkened, "Anyone I, Yu Feng, wish to kill, will not live. Granny, I don’t believe you can protect him all the time. He will die, not even the Heavenly Emperor can save him. Mark my words!"
Yu Feng’s murderous intent towards Su Chengyu did not diminish. He made up his mind to kill Su Chengyu as soon as possible.
The grey-eyed old woman sighed, said, "Young Master Feng, I’m stopping you for your own good. If you really kill him, your mother won’t forgive you, let alone let you off lightly."
"Impossible! Mother loves me the most, how could she turn against me just for the death of a worthless son?" Yu Feng sneered.
Inside the Illusory Mirror, Su Chengyu could clearly hear the conversation between Yu Feng and the grey-eyed old woman. The radiant glow from the mirror not only protected him but also helped heal his injuries.
At this moment, Su Chengyu finally understood that it was Yu Feng who wanted to kill him, not his mother’s orders.
Knowing this, Su Chengyu felt slightly relieved. However, he couldn’t help but wonder about the kind of person his mother really was.
Since she was aware of his existence and could even find him, why didn’t she ever meet him?
A myriad of chaotic thoughts filled Su Chengyu’s mind. The more he thought about it, the more confused he became, causing his Dao Heart to waver.
"Young Master Feng, stop this. Do I need to inform your mother about this matter? Whether she cares about him or not, you know very well." The grey-eyed woman implored.
Yu Feng’s mouth twitched, his fists clenched and then slowly relaxed.
"Fine! For Granny’s sake, I will spare him."
With that, Yu Feng turned to look at Su Chengyu, "Consider yourself lucky. I won’t kill you today, but if I see you again, I won’t hesitate."
After declaring this, Yu Feng departed, leaving on his sword.
The elderly grey-eyed woman waved her hand, recalling the Illusory Mirror. As Su Chengyu collapsed, she held him up, placing an elixir in his mouth. An overwhelming medicinal power spread within his body, repairing Su Chengyu’s meridians.
"Are you all right, Young Master Yu?" the grey-eyed old woman asked with concern.
"I’m not dead yet, and I’m not some Young Master Yu. You don’t need to address me as such." Su Chengyu replied coldly.
The grey-eyed old woman looked kindly upon Su Chengyu, although her grey eyes always gave off an eerie feeling, irrespective of her seemingly kind demeanor.
"Young Master Yu, I understand that you hold some resentment. But some things aren’t as they appear. Your mother misses you dearly. She had me searching for you far and wide. I spent over twenty years before I managed to find you." The grey-eyed woman explained.
The revelation somewhat touched Su Chengyu, but he retorted stubbornly, "So, you spent more than twenty years just to eliminate a disgrace like me, right?"
"No, not at all! Don’t listen to Young Master Feng’s nonsense. I watched your mother grow up. I know what’s in her heart. She truly loves you, how could she ever think of killing you? If she wanted you dead, I could have taken action already; there was no need to wait. Now, you should focus on healing your wounds. Once you’re better, I’ll explain everything to you."
With Su Chengyu supported by her side, the grey-eyed old woman walked towards the manor.
Despite the resentment, Su Chengyu held in his heart, he felt immense relief after finding out Yu Feng lied. He now had a lot of questions about his parents he needed to be clarified.
Since the grey-eyed old woman is so close to his mother, she must know much about them. Su Chengyu couldn’t wait to ask questions about his parents.
"Were you the one I saw in Lin Jiang before?" Su Chengyu asked.
"Yes, I found you there. But initially, I wasn’t sure about your identity, so I stayed hidden near you, trying to confirm who you really were." The grey-eyed old woman responded.
