Chapter 563: Chapter 563: The Treasure Beneath_1

The will to live burned furiously within Jin Pengju, and despite his best efforts to resist and his quick adrenaline-fueled wit, he couldn’t alter his fate. Su Chengyu’s current strength was enough to effortlessly annihilate him.

Thud. A chilling sensation crept its way onto Jin Pengju’s neck, immediately followed by a wave of his own blood gushing out.

Jin Pengju clutched his throat, his eyes widened, and his face filled with the fear of impending death. Groaning noises escaped his mouth as blood uncontrollably trickled from the gaps between his fingers.

Jin Pengju could not accept his fate, but no matter how fierce his protest, he could not prevent his life from fleeing his body. His body slumped helplessly to the ground.

Su Chengyu didn’t give Jin Pengju’s corpse another glance. He gripped the Dragon Slayer Sword in his hand, aiming straight at Jin Zhengxiong who was the weakest among the four Martial Marquises.

Jin Zhengxiong was in the third-grade Martial Marquis Realm. Su Chengyu was confident he could kill him instantly if he used his full strength. The other two Elders from the Jin family were in the fourth-level Martial Marquis realm, so killing them would be slightly more challenging.

Jin Zhengxiong was also trapped in the illusion at the time. The only method a Martial Artist could use to confront a cultivator’s Array was to brutally break the formation. But this particular Array could not hold up for much longer.

The attack of an azure blue Sword Qi approached. Seeing Su Chengyu’s figure, Jin Zhengxiong snorted, "You’ve finally been caught, punk. Meet your end!"

Jin Zhengxiong was very confident in his abilities and used his Collapsing Thunder Punch, packed with the force of a mighty storm, majestic and imposing. But under Su Chengyu’s sword light, all his might was obliterated.

"No!"

With a furious roar, Jin Zhengxiong’s body was pierced by the Dragon Slayer Sword, and he dropped dead to the ground.

As soon as Su Chengyu had slain Jin Zhengxiong, he saw that Jin Zhenghao had already punched through the Array. The formation patterns receded, and without hesitating, Su Chengyu escaped on his flying sword.

After Jin Zhenghao broke the formation, he saw an azure blue sword light zip away from the abandoned factory. Immediately, he saw the corpses of Jin Pengju and Jin Zhengxiong lying in pools of blood.

"Pengju! Younger brother!"

Jin Zhenghao rushed over with his eyes wide and full of rage. But after examining the bodies, he found that both were already dead.

Holding Jin Pengju’s body, Jin Zhenghao bellowed in a rage.

Although he had other sons, Jin Pengju was the most gifted, already a Great Grandmaster and the next designated head of the Jin family. He was the family’s great hope for the future.

Now that he was dead, how could Jin Zhenghao not feel anger, resentment, and hatred?

He thought that he would harvest greatly today, but instead, he ended up losing his investment, his family members, and part of his forces.

As Jin Zhenghao broke a section of the Array, the power of the whole formation significantly decreased, and the two other Elders of the Jin family quickly broke free. They were greeted by the horrific scene.

"What happened?!"

"That kid managed to kill Pengju and Zhengxiong in such a short time? Zhengxiong was a third-grade Martial Marquis!"

The two Elders were completely taken aback by the unexpected outcome.

"Damn! I hate this! We need to chase him!"

Jin Zhenghao, in his righteous rage, declared, "No point in chasing. We wouldn’t catch up. I won’t let this grudge go easily. We’ll use our contacts and spare no expense to find this brat. I swear to draw and quarter him myself to avenge Pengju and Zhengxiong!"

For the Jin family, the loss of their heir and a Martial Marquis was devastating.

Emerging from the abandoned factory, Su Chengyu flew straight to the Libo Garden holding the medicine he had acquired. He was pleased with his haul; now it was time to excavate the treasure beneath Libo Garden.

The pear blossoms in the Libo garden had withered, and the leaves were beginning to turn brown. Su Chengyu then sat cross-legged under a tree, planning to wait until dark to go underground to seek the treasure.

At this moment, Zhou Li from the Golden Holy Door called saying, "Mr. Su, my men have arrived. We’ll be able to start tomb raiding tomorrow. When will you be ready?"

"Let’s plan for tomorrow then. I’ll come find you at the antique shop."

After Su Chengyu hung up the call, the moon hung high in the sky and the Libo Garden was tranquil.

He decided not to attend the trade conference any longer. The herbs available in that day’s conference were dwindling, and other families didn’t have valuable herbs to sell. Going would be a waste of time and make him an easy target for the Jin family.

The Jin family would surely station people to stakeout the trade conference for him the next day.

Su Chengyu took out an Earth Rune and affixed it to himself. As soon as the Earth Rune was activated, it emitted a soft, yellow light, instantly making the ground beneath his feet as fluid as water.

The advanced Earth Rune allowed him to navigate underground as effortlessly as a fish glides in a pond, facing no obstacles. Su Chengyu immediately plunged into the ground, swimming with ease as though he were in the ocean.

This treasure was a hundred meters below the ground. If it weren’t for the advanced Earth Rune, he wouldn’t be able to venture that deep. As he delved deeper, his descent slowed due to increasing pressure, as if a humongous force was attempting to squash him.

Being a hundred meters underground felt like having a massive mountain pressing down on him. This was the pressure of a tangible mass. Both the True Dragon Reverse Scale and the Jade Cloud Ring that Su Chengyu carried were activated, which, in combination with the Earth Rune, barely enabled him to resist this immense pressure.

Su Chengyu, however, could not find the treasure. His Divine Sense could not extend after one hundred meters underground, thus limiting him from using his Divine Sense to explore. He could only continue his search in the deep underbelly of the earth.

"Yan’er has clearly said that it’s a hundred meters beneath this place. Why can’t I find it?"

After searching for a long while, Su Chengyu could not locate the treasure. However, he noted that the structure of the rock layer one hundred meters underground had changed slightly. These rocks held traces of lingering spiritual energy, likely left over from the treasure.

However, the treasure was nowhere to be found. There were only two possible explanations. One, someone had dug it out, or two, the treasure had innate intelligence and could move underground autonomously.

Given that there was no change in the environment of the Libo Garden, Su Chengyu could ascertain that the treasure was still there. Therefore, the second possibility stood correct: the treasure could move autonomously.

Su Chengyu suddenly regretted not bringing Yan’er along. She could have easily located the treasure using her Primordial Eye, saving him the hassle of scouring the deep underground layers.

Stuck one hundred meters beneath the earth in countless layers of rock, even the utilization of Su Chengyu’s cultivation methods were impaired, forcing him to adopt rudimentary methods in his search. He was determined to unearth this treasure.

Having spent over an hour searching, Su Chengyu finally spotted traces of the treasure. A flicker of light shone from the rocks up ahead. Moving towards the location of the emanating light, Su Chengyu finally laid eyes upon the treasure in question.

It was a fist-sized stone emitting an enchanting spectrum of five colors, incredibly beautiful and alluring.

While Su Chengyu had seen a plethora of articles in his life, he had never encountered a stone that emanates a five-colored glow. He did not know what it was, but he was sure that this was no ordinary stone.

"Finally found you. I’ll see just what treasure you are."

As Su Chengyu slowly approached the Five-Colored Stone, the radiating light instantly transformed into sword blades seemingly attempting to attack Su Chengyu.
