Chapter 540: Chapter 540: Thousands of Pear Trees Bloom_1
"Mayor Yuan is right, this kind of brat, pretending to be mysterious and making reckless remarks to attract attention. You are an esteemed person, there’s no need for you to be angry with him."
The deputy mayor quickly interjected, fearing Wei Jingyi would be angered and withdraw his support, which would lead to a disaster.
"How could I be angry? In learning, there is no such thing as seniority. Whoever has gained mastery should be the teacher! If this young man can make reasonable arguments and sway others, demonstrating his capabilities, I will humbly learn from him. However, if he can’t displayed his real skills, then he is intentionally smearing my reputation. He can’t walk away unscathed, or else people will take liberties with me in the future."
We Jingyi wore a façade of humility, but his words vowed not to let Su Chengyu get off lightly.
The crowd once again praised Wei Jingyi’s broadmindedness and verbally attacked Su Chengyu.
Su Chengyu’s lips curled up in a cold smirk. Wei Jingyi’s heart filled with pride as he said, "Young man, you say I’m babbling nonsense, pretending to know something I don’t. Then let’s hear about your expertise in Feng Shui. Let’s discuss it calmly and the one with the most convincing argument will win."
"I only have a rudimentary knowledge of Feng Shui. However, I do know that you are absolutely spouting nonsense! The root problem of Libo Garden is not due to an excess of yang energy. If you arrange a large Feng Shui array to draw the yin energy into the garden according to your method, it will not only be useless but it will backfire, accelerating the wilting of the pear trees. Are you trying to ruin Libo Garden?" Su Chengyu said.
"Impudent youth, your words are the ones that are utter nonsense! Master Wei’s argument has reasoning and evidence. If you only have superficial knowledge in Feng Shui, how dare you criticize Master Wei, it’s utterly ridiculous!" Yuan Xueliang berated.
We Jingyi sneered: "I’ve been extremely patient with you because you are young and ignorant, but you keep stirring up trouble and damaging my reputation. Today, let us have a duel of sorcery to check whose is superior!"
After Wei Jingyi finished speaking, his robe billowed, his beard and hair fluttered, instantly exuding an overwhelming aura. As the people around saw this, they immediately retreated, Yuan Xueliang also hurriedly stepped back.
"Master Wei is angry, this kid doesn’t know the magnitude of his offense, he’s in for trouble!"
"He’s asking for it, daring to doubt Master Wei. If it was me, I would have taken action long ago!"
The crowd looked at Su Chengyu with disdain, Wei Ying sneered, "You asked for this!"
Wei Jingyi took a step forward, his aura increased threefold, and exclaimed, "I am from the leading sect of the Jianghu Eight Gates, the Xuanmen sect. I’ve studied Feng shui for decades, solved countless Fengshui problems, and brought boundless benefits and earned respect from many. What qualifications does a know-nothing child like you have to discredit me baselessly?"
"Do you understand the Book of Changes?"
"Have you studied the Burial Scriptures?"
"Do you know Dragon-Impact Sutra?"
"Do you know what the Dragon-Seeking Tactic is?"
"How many great Feng Shui sites have you sought? How many resentful spirits have you pacified? How many talismans have you drawn, and how many arrays have you arranged?!"
Wei Jingyi’s momentum was like a rainbow, and with each sentence, he stepped closer to Su Chengyu, his aura becoming increasingly intimidating, giving people a suffocating feeling!
"Even if I don’t know a single word, I still know you are wrong! A mistake is a mistake, and it has nothing to do with how many books you’ve read or how many years you’ve studied Feng Shui! You just wasted your time reading those books!"
In the face of Wei Jingyi’s overwhelming momentum, others felt intimidated and wanted to retreat. However, Su Chengyu remained composed, not taking Wei Jingyi’s intimidation seriously at all.
In his eyes, Wei Jingyi was just a phony cultivator, not worth mentioning.
"If you want to contend with me in a sorcery duel, you’re just asking for humiliation." Su Chengyu once again voiced a sentence that sounded like a jealous, arrogant, and ignorant remark to the crowd.
"Madman! Lunatic. How dare he say those words?"
"Is he so bored with life that he is seeking death?"
Everyone looked at Su Chengyu as if he were an idiot. Meanwhile, Yuan Bo stood by, unable to decide whether to advance or retreat. The situation had now soared out of his control. He could only watch the developments quietly, praying inwardly that Mr. Su truly had some real skills.
"Master Wei, this young man is arrogant and impolite, you shouldn’t be courteous to him. Feel free to use your magic to suppress him!" The deputy mayor of Suifeng said.
"That’s right! There’s no need to talk about martial etiquette with this kind of arrogant man. Suppress him directly!"
A murderous look appeared in Wei Jingyi’s eyes, transmitting a message to Su Chengyu, "Boy! You’re asking for death. You’ve given me the perfect excuse to kill you on the spot!"
Having said that, Wei Jingyi continued loudly, "Good boy, let me show you today what real Daoist magic is!"
We Jingyi then raised his hand and the withered leaves on the ground seemed to be swept up by a strong wind. With his hands in a seal, these leaves suddenly transformed into a very realistic python, attacking Su Chengyu with an imposing momentum.
Yuan Bo was so scared that he shut his eyes, daring not to watch. Lin Chuxue and Yu Yanshu didn’t panic at all. They knew that if Su Chengyu dared to say that, he must not really take Wei Jingyi seriously.
"Insignificant tricks!"
Su Chengyu raised his right hand and made a grabbing motion in the air. The python formed by the leaves seemed to be held at its weak point by an invisible hand, exploding abruptly into a fluttering rain of leaves.
We Jingyi’s eyebrows flickered. He originally thought that Su Chengyu had no real skills, yet, surprisingly, his Xuanmen sect skill was easily broken!
When Yuan Bo opened his eyes and saw the giant python disappear, he breathed a sigh of relief and shouted out, "Mr. Su is indeed amazing!"
We Jingyi naturally was not willing to admit defeat so easily. He took out several talismans, which after being ignited, immediately turned into six balls of fire surrounding Su Chengyu.
"Old man, do you want to burn down the entire Libo Garden?" Su Chengyu said coldly.
We Jingyi saw that the fire from the talisman had trapped Su Chengyu, he again cast a spell and formed a light sword. With the light sword in hand, he attacked.
"Today, I will slay this ignorant boy with my Xuanmen Sect Magical Sword!"
Su Chengyu snorted, took a step forward and shouted, "Extinguish!"
The six flames of the talismans extinguished instantly. Wei Jingyi’s Magical Sword was already on its way with an unstoppable momentum but Su Chengyu stood still. A clear light rose from his body, and the sword struck it, causing only a little ripple.
The Magical Sword in Wei Jingyi’s hand disappeared, Su Chengyu pointed his fingers imitating a sword, drew on the ground and the leaves on the ground turned into a flood dragon and rushed towards Wei Jingyi.
Wei Jingyi’s body flashed with light. He threw several talismans one after another, but they could not stop the passage of the flood dragon. Wei Jingyi was hit by the flood dragon and fell to the ground, his face as pale as paper, and he started to vomit blood profusely.
"Xuanmen Sect Skills, not worth mentioning." Su Chengyu said coldly.
At this moment, the whole field was silent as if someone had chocked them. No one could have imagined that the powerful Wei Jingyi would be defeated!
"Want to see my skills? Today I’ll indulge you and give you a real spectacle!"
Having said that, Su Chengyu formed a seal with his hands, his eyes sparkled with electricity, then a rumbling sound came from his throat.
"Bloom!"
As his words echoed, the withered pear trees surrounding him began to rejuvenate one by one. The tree branches quickly sprouted and turned green, then grew green leaves at a speed visible to the naked eye. Bud after bud popped out on the branches, and shortly after, all the buds burst open, revealing untainted white pear blossoms.
The scene was just like an old poem: "Suddenly, like a night of spring breeze, thousands of trees of pear blossoms bloomed!"
