Chapter 444: Chapter 444 Yanluo Blade_1
"Yan’er, I’m going to Nine Peaks Mountain, do you want to stay here and wait for me, or come with me?", Su Chengyu asked.
In the Dragon Soul forum, Su Chengyu had seen people talking about the loosening of the boundary around Nine Peaks Mountain and that it would likely dissipate in the coming days. Similarly, he had noticed an increasing number of formidable figures arriving in Yian City.
"I would like to go with Master, but I’m afraid I’ll slow you down," Yu Yanshu said, lowering her head.
"You are currently on the fourth stage of Qi Refining Realm. I can give you two more elixirs to help you advance to the fifth stage, ensuring a fight against a Martial Arts Master. Besides, you possess the Primordial Eye, a unique advantage, which might end up supporting me in a critical moment. I would like your company for this journey. Your training matters but your Primordial Eye might come in handy," he assured.
Before setting off for Nine Peaks Mountain, Su Chengyu was determined to break into the third stage of Foundation Establishment Realm. He believed that only when one is strong can one be secure.
"As long as Master doesn’t find me a drag, I’m willing to venture through fire and ice with you," Yu Yanshu happily responded.
Su Chengyu gave the last two Heavenly Pills he had with him to Yu Yanshu for cultivation before quickly beginning the process of alchemy.
After the successful production of two furnaces of Heavenly Pills and the consumption of a whole furnace and a half, Su Chengyu eventually advanced to the third stage of Foundation Establishment Realm while Yu Yanshu progressed to the fifth level of Qi Refining Realm giving her the strength that was on par with a Martial Arts Master.
However, Yu Yanshu hadn’t any real battle experience and there was still room for development.
Su Chengyu and Yu Yanshu left Yian City and drove to Anyang Town which happened to be the nearest to Nine Peaks Mountain. From the town, one could see the towering Nine Peaks Mountain clearly.
On their way to Nine Peaks Mountain, Dragon Soul soldiers had been stationed throughout the journey. However, due to its vast area, stretching tens of miles, it was impossible for them to completely blockade.
Anyang Town was small and rudimentary with just three narrow cobbled streets, yet it buzzed with the lively activity of martial artists.
The town only had two modest inns which were usually devoid of guests but were occupied lately.
Su Chengyu and Yu Yanshu arrived at Anyang Town early in the evening. They walked into a very ordinary small restaurant, which was crowded with people engrossed in discussions about the circumstances within Nine Peaks Mountain.
"I heard that Nine Peaks Mountain was once a battlefield for gods and demons where many powerful beings fell, scattering weapons all over the place," said one person.
"I don’t think that’s right. I heard it was a cave dwelling of an immortal with treasures and elixirs left by this immortal scattered everywhere," disputed another.
With their two small dishes, Su Chengyu and Yu Yanshu tuned into the different opinions resonating without any concrete sources.
Regardless of whether it was an Immortal’s cave or a battlefield for gods and demons, both possibilities were advantageous for Su Chengyu.
"Yan’er, eat more," he said.
Irrespective of the ongoing discussion, Su Chengyu picked up food for Yu Yanshu while planning to personally visit Nine Peaks Mountain at midnight to figure out the reality. Qiao Jingwu was also supposed to meet them in Anyang Town the next day.
"Thank you, Master," Yu Yanshu joyously expressed.
"Master? How dare this lad take a disciple at such a young age? Sheer arrogance! Little sister, don’t be fooled," scoffed the guys at the next table.
The guy who spoke stood up and walked over, he continued, "Little sister, your so-called master doesn’t look like much. Why don’t you take me as your master instead? I can not only teach you decent skills but also some other interesting techniques."
"Young Master Yuan is planning to teach the little sister some bedroom techniques, isn’t he?" the other two men teased.
Yu Yanshu, having very limited worldly experience, didn’t quite know how to deal with such a situation, responded, "No need, my master is very powerful."
Yuan Ping burst into laughter, "Really? I’ll beat your master black and blue so you can witness my skills."
He then turns to Su Chengyu saying, "Kid, fight me. If you lose, get lost. Your beautiful disciple will become my disciple."
Su Chengyu placed a piece of twice-cooked pork in his mouth, ignoring Yuan Ping.
"Won’t dare to come out? I’ll hit you right here," Yuan Ping exclaimed and attacked Su Chengyu. Swiftly, Su Chengyu flicked a chopstick right through Yuan Ping’s palm before he could react, causing him to scream in agony.
"Young Master Yuan!" the other two men, seeing Yuan Ping injured, immediately attacked Su Chengyu.
Just as before, Su Chengyu darted two chopsticks from the holder and threw at their thighs, piercing them causing them to bleed and collapse.
Almost everyone dining at the small restaurant were martial artists and they did nothing but watch the commotion.
Considering the growing number of skilled fighters in Anyang town, this had been the tenth or so conflict among martial artists in the past few days and hence, nobody found it strange anymore.
"With skills as pathetic as yours, dare to stir up trouble? I’m in a good mood today and won’t bother with you. Now scram," Su Chengyu dismissed.
Without even getting up from his chair, Su Chengyu took care of the three men with just three chopsticks.
Yuan Ping gritted his teeth and pulled the chopstick pierced through his palm out on the spot, throwing it on the ground, his face twisted with anger, "Very well! You dare injure me, I’ll make sure you die in this town!"
Su Chengyu spun another chopstick with his fingers, scaring Yuan Ping who hastily retreated.
"Let’s go!" Yuan Ping, in a foul mood, quickly left the small restaurant with his two men.
The skills of these three men weren’t particularly strong. They were only low rank masters who had probably come to Anyang Town for the excitement, probably with some expert backing them up.
"Is that it? That’s disappointing!" One of the spectators voiced their thoughts.
"Three wastes, probably used to being overbearing relying on their elders in the sect, they don’t know their limits," someone else commented.
Everyone continued eating and chatting, not sparing any thought on the trouble caused.
However, a bearded man at a nearby table wiped his greasy mouth and remarked, "Actually, they’re not wrong. Not every Tom, Dick and Harry is qualified to take disciples."
The bearded man’s comment immediately brought silence.
Many people in the restaurant recognized this bearded man. That afternoon, he had fought someone in town having formidable strength and being a Great Grandmaster.
This bearded man had publicly crushed a man to death in town, his methods were particularly ruthless.
"Master..." Yu Yanshu looked at the menacing figure of the bearded man and felt a bit scared.
"There’s nothing to worry about, don’t be afraid. Keep eating," Su Chengyu reassured with a smile.
"This young man’s got guts, hasn’t he heard about Old Demon Huang the Yama Blade?" someone inquired.
"I doubt he’s heard. Otherwise, he’d be scared shitless and wouldn’t dare sit here eating," speculated another.
Known as Huang Xianba, the bearded man was a Great Grandmaster of Longjiang blade technique from Northern Jiang, infamous in the martial arts circles across the Longjiang Four Provinces for his unbeatable Yama Blade Technique.
