"She’s a heavy sleeper, nothing will wake her up. Why don’t we move to my room?" Gu Ying suggested, her lips slightly parted.

Su Chengyu stood up, holding Gu Ying by her waist as he carried her into the bedroom.

As soon as he put her down, the arousal in Su Chengyu was hard to ignore. He certainly wasn’t immune to temptation.

However, he managed to hold onto some of his rationality and said, "If you’re doing this because you feel indebted to me and want to pay me back, you really don’t need to. As I’ve said, my help was a matter of chance. I had no hidden agenda and don’t need to be repaid, especially not in this way."

Gu Ying sat up and wrapped her arms around Su Chengyu’s waist, pressing close to his body.

"I do want to repay you, but it’s not only about that. I willingly give myself to you, fearing only that you might mind me not being untouched. I know well enough that a person of your status and charm is not short of women. Rest assured, I won’t cling to you just because we’ve been intimate... I just..."

Gu Ying shared her deepest thoughts. Indeed, she had feelings for Su Chengyu, otherwise she wouldn’t have taken the initiative like this.

Gu Ying blushed, biting her lip and said awkwardly, "I didn’t mean to, I just couldn’t help myself. I was afraid that it would wake Little Shuang. We should avoid doing this at home next time, if there is a next time."

"Why wouldn’t there be a next time? Are you tired of me?" asked Su Chengyu.

"Not at all. I’m just afraid that you might get tired of me."

Deep down, Gu Ying felt quite inferior. After all, Su Chengyu was so outstanding and charismatic that she didn’t think she was worthy of him.

She thought that once was enough, and that Su Chengyu would certainly not want a second time.

"How could I be such a vulgar person? Don’t overthink. Though I can’t give you much promise or status, I will take care of you and Little Shuang."

Su Chengyu gently stroked Gu Ying’s hair. Gu Ying’s eyes welling up with tears, she nestled into his chest, her heart filled with warmth and gratitude.

"I have no lofty expectations, as long as there’s a small place for me in your heart, I’m satisfied." Gu Ying whispered.

"Little Shuang is awake." Su Chengyu spoke.

Gu Ying started, hastily getting out of Su Chengyu’s arms. But the sudden movement caused her pain, making her hiss and draw a sharp breath.

"You rest a bit, I’m going to play with Little Shuang."

Su Chengyu smirked, tidied himself up and left the bedroom just as Little Shuang was coming out of her room.

"Godfather, where’s my mother?" Little Shuang asked, rubbing her eyes sleepily.

"Your mother is a bit tipsy from cooking dinner and drinking, she’s resting in the room. Let Godfather play with you." Su Chengyu replied.

"Yay, yay! Godfather is the best!"

Little Shuang’s face lit up with joy as she grabbed Su Chengyu’s hand to play with their toys. Seeing Little Shuang’s innocence and delight, Su Chengyu felt a trace of warmth, and couldn’t help but question himself, "Do I really want to become a father?"

Su Chengyu stayed with Little Shuang until Gu Ying emerged from the bedroom, though her walk was a bit uneasy.

After a long period of inactivity, it was natural for some areas to hurt when reinvigorated.

The auction at Hengtong Auction House was due to start at seven in the evening. Su Chengyu stayed here with them till six before leaving.

As he was about to leave, Little Shuang was a bit tearful and reluctant to part, "Godfather, I’ll miss you. You must come and see me tomorrow."

Little Shuang, who lacked a father figure, had taken Su Chengyu to be her father and didn’t want to be away even for a moment.

"I’ll be going now, call me if you need anything." Su Chengyu said to Gu Ying.

"Be careful on the road," Gu Ying told him, sounding just like a wife saying goodbye to her husband who’s leaving for work. Not just Little Shuang, but Gu Ying herself was also reluctant to part with Su Chengyu.

Having Su Chengyu around felt incredibly nice, a feeling she relished, and didn’t want to lose sight of, even for a second.
