Chapter 210: Chapter 210: The Remnant Spirit _1
Su Chengyu knew that Lin Chuxue carried a deep emotional burden. He understood that this was something she needed to work through herself. Lin Chuxue, unable to control her emotions, clung to Su Chengyu and cried for a long time before she started to calm down.
Lin Chuxue’s tears had quite soaked Su Chengyu’s clothes. Looking down at his shirt, Su Chengyu sighed, "Such...a lot of tears."
"Why are you in the room?" Lin Chuxue asked, wiping away her tears.
"I heard you screaming from your room, so I came in. You keep sleeping, I’ll go out," Su Chengyu suggested.
As Su Chengyu tried to sit up and leave, Lin Chuxue grabbed the hem of his shirt, whispering, "Can... Can you stay with me? I’m a little scared."
"Okay."
Su Chengyu simply nodded and sat by the bed. Lin Chuxue held onto Su Chengyu’s hand, staring up at him.
"Why are you staring at me? Close your eyes and sleep," said Su Chengyu.
Lin Chuxue pressed her lips together before asking, "Why does your bed smell like Xu Nanzhi?"
Su Chengyu was startled and coughed, "Who?!"
"Xu Nanzhi, your Aunt Xu," Lin Chuxue confirmed seriously.
"Are you a police dog now? You can identify people by their scent?" Su Chengyu asked, surprised.
"You’re the one who’s a dog," retorted Lin Chuxue.
She rolled her eyes and continued, "From a young age, my sense of hearing, smell and sight have always been much more acute than most people. Not only can I smell you on this bed, but I can also smell a woman."
Su Chengyu realized what she was implying. Lin Chuxue had an Innate Spirit Body with unusually acute senses, and indeed, there was a hint of Xu Nanzhi’s fragrance on his bed.
"Usually it’s my younger sister who cleans my room, so it’s quite normal for there to be a woman’s scent," Su Chengyu explained.
"No! This scent is exactly the same as the one on Xu Nanzhi. I’m just curious, why would Xu Nanzhi’s scent appear on your bed. Don’t tell me there’s something going on between you two?"
Lin Chuxue was merely speculating, even she found her thought absurd.
"Don’t make random assumptions. It’s probably because my sister and Aunt Xu use the same type of perfume. You should stop overthinking and just sleep," Su Chengyu changed the subject, afraid that if Lin Chuxue continued asking questions, his secret might be revealed.
"How did you get involved with Fang Qing?"
Lin Chuxue was persistent and couldn’t help digging deeper.
"We’re not involved. Back at the Dongling Grand Restaurant, she only said I was her boyfriend to help me out. I’ve never had any improper relations with her," Su Chengyu explained.
"I could tell she’s into you. What about Liu Yan?"
"I’ve never involved with her either, Liu Yan and I are just friends. Besides, whoever He Shou Xin tried to forcibly take away that day, whether it was Liu Yan or not, I would intervene. A true hero can’t stand by when there’s an injustice! That’s the chivalry spirit," Su Chengyu firmly stated.
Lin Chuxue didn’t buy his statement and scoffed, "That night, I saw you both kissing."
"Impossible! When did I ever kiss Liu Yan?" Su Chengyu instantly refuted.
"It was on the night of the duel at the sports stadium, at the entrance of Dongling Grand Restaurant. I was in the car across the street, I saw it with my own eyes."
When it came to romantic relationships, Lin Chuxue had absolutely no experience. She didn’t even know how to behave around someone she liked, keeping all this to herself was very frustrating.
Su Chengyu did not realize that Lin Chuxue was present at the Dongling Hotel that night. Without a second thought, he said, "She was the one who kissed me because she was drunk. This explains why you became so standoffish and even made those harsh remarks at your grandfather’s birthday banquet. You were just jealous!"
"I didn’t!"
With pride, Lin Chuxue huffed and turned her head away.
Su Chengyu smiled but didn’t say anything. He merely sat by the bed and pretended to rest, while reciting a calming incantation in his head to suppress his growing desires.
Meanwhile, Lin Chuxue was restless and couldn’t drift off to sleep.
"Su Chengyu, are you asleep?" Lin Chuxue asked quietly.
Su Chengyu opened his eyes and replied, "How can anyone sleep sitting up?"
"Then...would you like to come lie down for a while?" Lin Chuxue’s voice was as soft as a mosquito. After suggesting it, she immediately regretted her words, feeling as though she had lost her propriety.
"Are you sure you want me to join you in bed?" Su Chengyu slightly grinned.
"Never mind, it’s fine like this," Lin Chuxue quickly turned her back to Su Chengyu, her heart thumping nervously.
"I think it’s more comfortable to lie down."
Su Chengyu lifted the blanket and joined Lin Chuxue, who quickly scooted to the side in surprise to maintain a safe distance from him.
The room fell silent. Both could hear each other’s breathing and heartbeat, especially Lin Chuxue. The irregular beats of her heart manifested her mixed feelings.
"Chu Xue."
"Hmm?"
"Do you still remember the feeling from that night?"
"I was drunk, I don’t remember."
"Do you want me to jog your memory then?" Su Chengyu asked cheekily.
"Don’t! It hurts."
Lin Chuxue reminded him as she continued to face away from him. Her only memory from that night was pain.
"Relax, you’ll get used to it. After a while, you might even find it enjoyable," Su Chengyu coaxed.
As he spoke, he pressed his body against Lin Chuxue’s resisting the tension that made her body stiff.
Using his prior experience, Su Chengyu whispered soothing words to Lin Chuxue until she relaxed. He slowly turned her around to face him, their eyes meeting as their breaths mingled.
Lin Chuxue closed her eyes, her long eyelashes fluttered gently, and she softly bit her lower lip.
Su Chengyu placed his finger between her lips and tickled her playfully. She promptly bit his finger, but didn’t dare press down too hard.
Taking advantage of the situation, Su Chengyu moved his finger in her mouth without retreating.
Lin Chuxue gave a start as if she was shocked, quickly releasing his finger from her mouth.
"Stop it!" She scolded.
"It’s almost dawn, let’s make most of our time," Su Chengyu brushed her nose with a teasing smile.
"I’m tired, I don’t care anymore, do as you like," she replied.
Lin Chuxue devised a good strategy: she feigned sleepiness. She then closed her eyes and lay straight on the bed.
Upon hearing these words, a sudden understanding dawned on Su Chengyu and he got excited. He started wandering in familiar areas. To his surprise, he sensed the Innate Spirit Heap within Lin Chuxue.
He had initially assumed he had fully extricated Lin Chuxue’s Innate Spirit Heap after the last encounter. However, he felt a lingering presence of it within her now.
If he activated the Extreme Yin Profound Manual technique, he might even have a chance to break through to the sixth level of the Qi Refining stage.
