Chapter 201: Chapter 201: Preaching_1

"By the way, how is your injury?" Fang Qing asked.

Su Chengyu lifted his clothes, revealing no trace of injury on his body. Fang Qing rubbed her eyes, and exclaimed, "Cultivators really are extraordinary. Such a severe injury and not a single mark remains!"

She observed with her own eyes how Su Chengyu was beaten to a bloody pulp yesterday. However, within a single night, all his injuries were completely healed. Only a miraculous cultivator could accomplish such a feat.

After eating, Fang Qing asked, "Can you tell me about cultivation?"

"The first threshold of cultivation is enlightenment. Everyone achieves enlightenment in different ways. Some people may achieve it by observing fish or watching the tides, others by watching birds or studying ants. It’s a profound mystery that can only be experienced through intuition, not transmitted through language. One has to realize it on their own," Su Chengyu explained while sitting on the sofa.

Fang Qing could understand every single word Su Chengyu said, but she couldn’t comprehend the deep meaning behind them. The words seemed empty to her.

"How did you become enlightened?" Fang Qing asked.

"I practiced the silent meditation for twenty years, breaking free from my constraints, and was able to become enlightened," he replied.

"No wonder people used to refer to you as a mute. You were actually practicing silent meditation. Can I practice silent meditation too?" Fang Qing asked curiously.

"Of course, you can! Are you able to endure not speaking a word for twenty years?" Su Chengyu laughed.

Fang Qing pondered for a moment and replied, "I cannot! Not even for twenty days. But I still don’t understand what it means to have enlightenment and to enter the Dao."

Su Chengyu fell silent for a moment, then decided to explain it in a more detailed way.

"Enlightenment is about realizing your True Self. Each person’s True Self is different, and only you can discover yours," he explained. "The Dao is a fundamental law of nature, unseen, untouchable, and indescribable. When a cultivator finds their True Self, they become attuned to the laws of Dao and can sense the spiritual energy flowing through the universe. The cultivator then uses spells to draw this energy into their body. This is cultivation."

"The Dao is indescribable, but it exists everywhere in the universe. As I said, watching rising and falling tides, rolling clouds, swimming fish and flying birds, even observing insects or worms, all of this is Dao. When you throw something up and it falls back down, that too is Dao.

"Isn’t it gravity when something falls to the ground?" Fang Qing asked, a little confused.

She felt she somewhat understood, yet she couldn’t grasp the essence of his words.

"Gravity is a natural rule, and that too is part of the Dao. People eat when they’re hungry, wolves eat meat when they’re hungry, apples fall from the tree when they’re ripe. These are all part of Dao. If you genuinely understand this, you can enter Dao," Su Chengyu said. Although his explanation was very detailed, Fang Qing still felt quite confused, but she did gain some insights.

But these insights were still far from true enlightenment.

Fang Qing frowned in deep thought, but the more she thought, the more she felt like she couldn’t grasp anything. Her mind felt dizzy.

"Don’t overthink it. These things can’t be figured out just by racking your brains," said Su Chengyu, tapping Fang Qing on the forehead. She rubbed her forehead and said, "The more I think, the more confused I get. It seems like I don’t have the talent for cultivation. Hasn’t anyone in the past figured out a trick to achieving enlightenment and entering Dao?"

"Of course there has," said Su Chengyu.

"Teach me, teach me," Fang Qing said excitedly, grabbing Su Chengyu’s hands.

"Sure, but first, kneel and kowtow to me and call me ’Master’. Then I’ll teach you," replied Su Chengyu.

"No way!" Without a second thought, Fang Qing refused.

"Then how am I supposed to teach you? Haven’t you heard the saying ’The Dao is not to be shared with the undeserving’?" said Su Chengyu seriously.

"You’re awful! Su Chengyu, please teach me, I’m begging you," said Fang Qing, resorting to charm. Seeing the usually strong and capable Fang Qing behave in such a way made Su Chengyu’s heart twitch.

"Alright, I surrender," said Su Chengyu, who was not only considering teaching Fang Qing, but also Aunt Xu, Su Xiaoxiao, and potentially even Li Yuancang and Zeng Yifan.

Of course, even with the key to the door, one might not necessarily achieve enlightenment and enter Dao. After all, enlightenment is a threshold for cultivators that relies on talent. Those without the talent for cultivation simply won’t be able to open the door to the world of cultivation, even with the key.

There is indeed a top-class enlightenment method in the Grand Supreme Taoist Scripture.

"Thanks, you’re so nice!" Fang Qing impulsively kissed Su Chengyu on the cheek.

"That wasn’t sincere," said Su Chengyu, touching his cheek and pouting.

Fang Qing pursed her lips hesitantly, then actively kissed Su Chengyu’s lips. At that point, an intrusive thought suddenly exploded in Su Chengyu’s mind.

Fang Qing planned on just pecking him lightly, but Su Chengyu responded very positively, and his arms already encircled her waist.

Fang Qing didn’t have any resistance towards Su Chengyu, and everything happened as if it was meant to be.

However, in the last moment, Fang Qing said with dazed and serious eyes, "I’m giving myself to you. I hope you won’t let me down in the future."

Upon hearing that, Su Chengyu, whose intrusive thought had already become uncontrollable, returned to his senses. Looking down at Fang Qing, Su Chengyu closed his eyes, suppressed his intrusive thought, and rose from her.

"I’m sorry, I was disrespectful," he apologized.

Fang Qing lay on the sofa with a somewhat disappointed look, and after a moment of silence, she sat straight up, picked up her clothes from the floor to put them back on. Her eyes were filled with resentment and disappointment, and she felt upset.

She had prepared herself for everything, ready to entrust herself to the man in front of her, but Su Chengyu pulled on the breaks at the last moment.

Fang Qing was extremely disheartened.

"You did nothing wrong. Everything was my own decision. It’s just that if you’re unwilling, I can’t force you. It seems that you’ve long held feelings for someone else," Fang Qing said, putting on her clothes and fixing her hair, trying to calm her emotions down as much as possible.

"I’m afraid I’ll let you down, that’s why I can’t..." Su Chengyu tried to explain.

Although Su Chengyu was a flirt, he had a sense of responsibility deep within him. He genuinely loved Xu Nanzhi, one of the two women he had been intimate with. As for Lin Chuxue, their intimacy was an accident, which is why he even spared the Lin Family several times.

If he were really despicable, he wouldn’t have to struggle. He would have taken all the women - Su Xiaoxiao, Liu Yan, and even Fang Qing - for himself.

But he wasn’t despicable enough, his integrity still remained.
