Time ticked away. It was already midnight, yet Su Chengyu was nowhere to be seen.

The Lin Family was staking all they had on this. If the assassination of Su Chengyu failed, they would surely face dire consequences.

"I’ll give him a call."

Just as anxious, Lin Zhengxun took out his mobile to call Su Chengyu. The call was quickly answered.

"Grandmaster Su, will you be arriving soon? Your arrival is all we await, the food and wine are ready,"Lin Zhengyuan asked.

"Your impatience is showing,"Su Chengyu stated flatly over the phone.

"No, no! Take your time; there’s no rush,"Lin Zhengxun hurriedly replied.

"I’ve been delayed on my way. Please wait another half hour for me," Su Chengyu responded.

"Of course, Grandmaster Su."

After hanging up, Lin Zhengxun explained the situation to Ren Qianzhong, who proceeded to shut his eyes and wait silently once again.

At Yulong Bay No.1 Villa, Hong Zhen Ting and Xu Nanzhi were seated by the pool. With a satisfied expression, Hong Zhen Ting confessed his unease until Su Chengyu’s death was confirmed.

Now that they had set the bait for a foolproof kill, his mood brightened with the thought of being rid of Su Chengyu.

"Nan Zhi, I have something to tell you. Su Chengyu will undoubtedly die today."

Glancing at his watch, it was past twelve ten. Hong Zhen Ting supposed that Su Chengyu was already dead.

Upon hearing the news of Su Chengyu’s death, Xu Nanzhi lost her rationality. Not hiding her feelings any longer, she was no longer fearful of what might come of this situation.

Just as Xu Nanzhi was about to disregard everything and blurt it out, an icy voice suddenly rang out.

The moment the words fell, a figure jumped in from the outer wall of the villa. It was the very same Su Chengyu who was originally supposed to be attending the banquet at the Oasis Hotel.

Su Chengyu smirked at this. This plan was set in motion ever since he returned from the fishing village.

Lin Chu Yin’s call inviting him to the banquet facilitated Su Chengyu’s scheme. He had calculated that Hong Zhen Ting would make use of the Lin Family to set up a trap.

When Lin Zhengxun called to invite him for dinner and used the hundred-year-old ginseng as bait, Su Chengyu guessed that his plan might have succeeded.

"Very well! Su Chengyu, you got me. I underestimated you. Your strategy was more devious and well-planned than mine. I prided myself on being careful, but I didn’t expect to fall into the hands of a young lad like you," Hong Zhen Ting said through gritted teeth.

He had never foreseen that the unknown pawn he initially scorned would grow this fast and outsmart him. Along with his anger, Hong Zhen Ting’s fear of Su Chengyu deepened.

Xu Nanzhi also let out a sigh of relief, silently praising Su Chengyu’s growth. She had never anticipated such a plan and thus decided that she may no longer need to worry excessively for Su Chengyu’s safety.

"Without Ren Qianzhong’s protection, killing you is as easy as killing a chicken. We had no previous grudges, and we could have coexisted peacefully. But you pushed me into a corner, which means I don’t have to show you any courtesy."

With each step Su Chengyu took towards him, Hong Zhen Ting backed away, growing more frightened.

Having controlled others’ lives and fates in Linjiang for many years, he had forgotten the danger and fear.

Butler Zhu came running out of the villa and fired at Su Chengyu, but he was already in Su Chengyu’s radar.
