Chapter 1175: Chapter 1175: Strange Mural

"Aunt Ye, besides us, do others also have a chance to reach this underground space?"

As Su Chengyu walked alongside Ye Qingci, a question suddenly occurred to him, and he casually asked.

Ye Qingci thought for a moment and softly said, "Although it was indeed Yan’er who first discovered this underground space, the sand flow was actually not triggered by the power of the Primordial Eye, but rather by intense vibrations of Spiritual Energy. Theoretically, even if this underground had not been discovered, there still would have been a possibility to enter this place."

Su Chengyu fell silent then, lost in thought.

Seeing what Su Chengyu was pondering, Ye Qingci softly said, "Opportunities and destinies are determined by the heavens and the earth, man can compete for them, but cannot force them. I know you’re thinking about the chance to ascend to immortality, but indeed, none of us have been blessed with that opportunity."

"I’m not coveting that opportunity, but I truly do not wish for it to fall into others’ hands."

While several factions had entered this Dragon Cave, hardly any were on friendly terms with Su Chengyu.

There was no need to mention the Emperor’s faction. After entering the Dragon Cave, Shinazugawa Tengen’s attitude had completely changed, and Su Chengyu did not believe the promises this old man had made before.

The Jiugui of Yihe might be a bit better, for without absolute certainty, he probably wouldn’t want to offend the Ye Family.

And the others?

The local Demon Clan from Mount Fuji had already clashed with Ye Qingci, and the matter of slaying the Ping Shan Demon was unlikely to end amicably.

He Mao Ichiro had previously been completely dominating Ye Qingci in battle; if he managed to enter the Earth Immortals, he would likely target Ye Qingci first.

...

Various signs indicated that, no matter who benefited from this opportunity, things would not go well for Su Chengyu and his group.

Ye Qingci smiled faintly and softly said, "Don’t worry, things are not as bad as you think. If we do not contest with them, finding a way out shouldn’t be too hard. Besides, it’s still uncertain whether anyone will actually attain it."

"Aunt Ye, do you also not hold a favorable view of Long Xuan?"

Ye Qingci hesitated for a moment, then softly said, "I don’t know."

"You don’t know?"

"This person cannot be measured by conventional wisdom. Emotionally, I naturally do not hope that Long Xuan gets this chance, but logically..."

Ye Qingci stopped there, but Su Chengyu had already understood her meaning.

Perhaps in Ye Qingci’s heart, the person most likely to seize this chance for ascension to immortality was still Long Xuan, only she was unwilling to admit it.

The atmosphere between the two became somewhat heavy for a while; although for different reasons, Long Xuan’s ascension would be equally bad news for both of them.

"Su Chengyu, can you understand these inscriptions?"

Suddenly, at a Stele, Ye Qingci stopped and asked Su Chengyu.

Su Chengyu looked at the strange characters, furrowed his brows, and then asked the Heaven-Mending Stone internally.

"What inscriptions? Let me see."

The Heaven-Mending Stone softly spoke and then after Divine Sense swept over the stele, softly said, "Oh, it’s a form of Divine Text, though still imbued with remnants of Spiritual Energy, it doesn’t record any Cultivation Techniques but rather the history of this place."

"Specifically?"

Su Chengyu continued to inquire.

"Basically, it’s the story of how their clan was banished from The Immortal World to this Cave Heaven and then, during the war between the Gods and Demons, this place was invaded, and they perished. Hmm...the only part worth noting is where it mentions that a seed of hope was left behind."

Seeds of hope?

While surprised, Su Chengyu relayed the words he had translated from the Heaven-Mending Stone to Ye Qingci.

After hearing it, Ye Qingci caressed the stele and nodded, saying, "Judging by its age, it indeed seems to have been left by the True Dragons when they died."

"Aunt Ye, what are the seeds of hope?"

"It’s probably that last True Dragon, which, alas, died under Uncle Su’s sword because it allied with Dongying."

Su Chengyu felt a pang of remorse upon hearing this, as, in a way, he was the executioner who had quashed their clan’s last hope.

Ironically, it was Su Chengyu who was responsible for unlocking this Cave Heaven in the end, a real twist of fate.

Having understood the contents of the stele, Ye Qingci then turned her gaze to the mural behind the stele. The first few paintings were mostly scenes of the Dragon Clan having once lived here, nothing unusual.

Only the last one, which depicted seven True Dragons swirling amidst clouds and mist, was obviously set in an environment distinctly different from the other murals.

Observing Ye Qingci pause before the mural, Su Chengyu subconsciously asked, "Is there something wrong with this mural?"

The Heaven-Mending Stone glanced at Ye Qingci, then spoke appreciatively, "This girl’s eye power is not bad; I didn’t expect her to notice the special aspect of this mural. You, on the other hand, are not up to par. Although your luck is decent, you always fall short in other areas."

Su Chengyu was speechless; even now, the Heaven-Mending Stone didn’t forget to stab him verbally.

"So what exactly is the deal with this mural?"

"The scene depicted in this mural is the Immortal World," said Ye Qingci.

"The Immortal World?!"

"Yes, the True Dragons here initially were indeed native to the Immortal World. This mural is a depiction of their life in the Immortal World back then. Although the mural itself is nothing special, as an object from the Immortal World, it indeed carries a special blessing. Unfortunately, it seems you are not fated to benefit from it."

"I’m not jealous."

Su Chengyu bluntly responded to the Heaven-Mending Stone.

The Heaven-Mending Stone looked around and said, "There don’t seem to be any treasures nearby. These members of the True Dragon Clan, deeply residing within this Cave Heaven, should have left something behind."

Obviously, what the Heaven-Mending Stone cared about most was something substantial that could replenish its spiritual energy.

"Let’s not rush, once Aunt Ye awakens from her enlightenment, we can move forward and see," advised Su Chengyu.

The Heaven-Mending Stone remained silent, extending its Divine Sense from around Su Chengyu onwards.

It wasn’t that it didn’t trust Su Chengyu, but as the Heaven-Mending Stone had said, though Su Chengyu’s luck was acceptable, his eye power and knowledge were far from keeping up with his current realm advancement.

Spotting something valuable still depended on itself.

As Divine Sense spread out, it wasn’t long before the Heaven-Mending Stone sensed something unusual.

Behind a seemingly ordinary mural, the Heaven-Mending Stone discovered that its Divine Sense could not penetrate it.

Although now limited to the nascent soul realm, its original form was a Heaven-Mending Sacred Object, with solid and formidable Divine Sense. Ordinary objects had no chance of stopping it.

Interest piqued, the Heaven-Mending Stone spoke to Su Chengyu, "Su Chengyu, use the Wasteland Sky Halberd to stab that mural."

"Why?"

"Just do it, why ask so many questions! There’s absolutely no downside!"
