Upon hearing Su Chengyu’s words, Hua Zhantang immediately interjected, "Saint Envoy, please discern the truth! This man is insidious and cunning. He is spouting nonsense. I don’t even know him! We can’t trust the words of a demon cohort."

Ye Qingci turned to Stone Sword Edge, "And what do you think?"

Stone Sword Edge pondered for a moment, "Conspiring with demons is a grave crime. It’s only normal for him to defend himself. However, I’m inclined to believe our Minor Chief Minister. When the Dragon Soul Department recruits members, we not only evaluate their abilities but also their characters and backgrounds. We will further investigate this matter."

Stone Sword Edge left room for negotiation in his words but he had already made his stance clear.

Ye Qingci slowly raised her hand, pointing at Su Chengyu.

Ye Qingci’s words frightened Stone Sword Edge. His face immediately turned pale.

Nobody dared to doubt the words of the White Clothes Saint Envoy. Even if she were lying, they had no right to question her.

"Saint Envoy, I swear every word is true, there is no lie." Hua Zhantang could only brace himself and maintain his version of truth. Stone Sword Edge immediately switched targets and reprimanded, "Hua Zhantang, tell the truth and explain yourself! You dare to lie to us and wrong a good man! If it’s truly as such, not only will you face severe punishment, but your mentor and family will be implicated!"

Stone Sword Edge swiftly made his move. With the power of a grandmaster’s transformation energy, he destroyed Hua Zhantang’s meridians, causing him to lose his martial arts abilities.

Zeng Yifan escorted Su Chengyu out of the Dragon Soul Department. Before parting, Zeng Yifan said, "I’m sorry for the interrogation earlier. I too, had no choice. Although Hua Zhantang was crippled, you should still be careful. His mentor will certainly blame you for this."
