Chapter 841
Chapter 841: Chapter 346: The Biggest Mystery_3 Chapter 841: Chapter 346: The Biggest Mystery_3 Plant seeds occasionally fell from the hole above, and rainwater followed the trail down the stone walls. Although the grounds were barren, under the influence of these seeds and the nurturing rainwater, plants managed to take root and sprout beneath. By chance, some small animals found their way down through the narrow passages, and over time, they reproduced and thrived. After a long evolutionary process, a unique ecosystem had formed beneath the cave.
Yan Fei released the Mechanical Sparrow again, using it to scan the mysterious aircraft from the outside and then perform data modeling within the Artificial Intelligence “Dream” to reconstruct the original appearance of the craft. The aircraft held immense technological value, and every detail could potentially inspire significant advancements in Dream Island's technology. Therefore, Yan Fei was meticulous, striving to perfectly replicate the contour of the aircraft, despite its dilapidated condition.
After scanning the exterior features of the aircraft, Yan Fei entered through a fractured section in the middle. Due to its ancient age, the interior of the aircraft was covered in moss and plants. Some areas were even filled with water, making the aircraft appear exceedingly rundown–but the occasional glimmers of silver still left Yan Fei utterly astounded.
High-Tech Equipment of indeterminate purpose lay scattered all around, unrecognizable after years of corrosion, appearing as blackened, rust-covered heaps. It seemed likely that an explosion had once occurred inside, given the signs of destruction from shock waves imprinted within the craft.
Pushing aside the obstructive broken machinery and equipment, Yan Fei made his way to the control center, the location of the Drone Upgrade Essential Items. As he walked, he used the Mechanical Sparrow to record various data, allowing “Dream” to also recreate the aircraft's internal structure.
Sans its functionality as Technology Device, the corridors of the spacecraft were dark and foreboding, overgrown with plant roots and serving as a habitat to various small creatures, rendering it a sight of terror.
But Yan Fei had a strong mental fortitude, unfazed by such environments. He journeyed steadfastly until he finally entered the control center. However, before Yan Fei could thoroughly investigate his surroundings, he received a notification from the Drone, “Special items detected, Drone Upgrade Essential Items.”
Following the Drone's indicator, Yan Fei saw an oblong, brick-shaped item on the control panel ahead. His heart leapt, knowing this was the primary objective of his mission. But he didn't rush forward to retrieve it. Though in ruins, no one could guarantee the aircraft was completely inoperable. He intuitively felt the rectangular item was of great importance and feared that removing it might trigger unpredictable events.
Outside, the Drone continuously employed its “sight” to monitor the terrain, detecting no sign of anyone approaching. This ensured Yan Fei's safety, affirming that there was no immediate threat of someone else seizing the item. Thus, after a brief glance at it, Yan Fei began inspecting the control center, resolving to remove the rectangular item only after having thoroughly explored the area.
Yan Fei approached a nearby chair, which had a harness encircling what appeared to be a Spacesuit. The Mechanical Sparrow had previously observed the suit but was unable to see through the glass visor, leaving it uncertain what was inside.
Yan Fei's personal presence was not just for retrieving the Upgrade Essential Items and gaining insight into the aircraft's High-tech technology; he also intended to determine whether the remains of a Pilot could be found inside the Spacesuit. Only by identifying the remains could he ascertain the true owner of the aircraft.
Grasping the Spacesuit, Yan Fei applied a slight pressure with his mechanical fingers, and the suit crumbled apart. The material, having succumbed to many years of oxidation, disintegrated upon the slightest touch.
Moving the Spacesuit aside, Yan Fei uncovered skeletal remains from an unknown species beneath. Picking up the glass visor, to his surprise, a skull rolled out. He picked up the skull and examined it closely, only to discover that it was, unmistakably, a human skeleton. Despite individual variations, the basic features were identical, so no matter how he looked at it, the remains in the suit were those of a human. Judging by the size of the Spacesuit, the individual would have been between 170cm and 180cm tall.
Finding the human skeleton within the aircraft sent a shock through Yan Fei. He had speculated many times that the craft likely came from another planet and was piloted by Aliens, but to his astonishment, the owner of the aircraft wasn't an Alien but a legitimate Earth human.
However, recorded Human history spans only tens of thousands of years, during which society advanced from a low-level Civilization to a high-level one, with most of that time spent in the earlier stages. These millennia have been exhaustively studied, and there is no technological gap; Humans have consistently evolved from a lower to a higher state without interruption.
A great enigma thus arose in Yan Fei's mind: Human history is well documented, and even at the current Technological Level, Earth humans couldn't build such an advanced High-tech Aircraft. So who built this craft? To which era did the human Pilot belong? Had he come from the Future, traveling back in time? Or was he from an even more remote Earth's Prehistoric Civilization?
