Chapter 568: Chapter 261 Underground Magma_2 Chapter 568: Chapter 261 Underground Magma_2 Yan Fei originally thought he was buried beneath the ground, but after he had collected that massive stone, he discovered that there hadn't actually been many rocks falling on him, and that very stone was the only thing pinning him down. The moment he collected the stone, the dirt and sand fell away, and no more obstructions remained above him.

Yan Fei jumped up from the rubble below and first controlled his muscles to continuously tremble, shaking off all the dust from his body and restoring his cleanliness. Then he looked back at the mine tunnel, now tightly blocked due to the collapse, feeling a sense of lingering fear. Fortunately, he was lucky that there weren't many rocks above him, otherwise, if he had been deeply buried, it would have been extremely difficult to crawl out.

Then, Yan Fei felt a scorching airflow blow past him, and upon turning around, he realized that where there had been a sheer cliff before, there was now a hole from which a red light was shining, and the scorching airflow was coming from this hole.

It turned out that the explosion that had caused the collapse of the passage behind him had also blasted open a new pathway through the dead end in front.

After finding this newly appeared pathway, Yan Fei was overjoyed. It seemed that there really was no such thing as a dead end under the heavens, as a new path had appeared just when he had been in a desperate situation. As long as this new passage led to the outside world, he could escape while Tripitaka was still blocked on the other side of the collapsed tunnel. Even if Tripitaka eventually made it through, he wouldn't be able to find Yan Fei before the drone data refresh.

Finding a new way out, Yan Fei was ecstatic. He followed this new path, and the further he went, the hotter it felt. However, this new passage was very short; after he had walked just over a hundred meters, he reached the end of the new passage, entering a vast and amazing space.

In front of him was a huge hemispherical space, with a gigantic dome above and a hot sea of magma below, from which bubbles occasionally emerged. The intense heat from the magma made the whole space appear somewhat distorted, creating an eerie sight. The distance from the magma below to the dome above was easily five or six hundred meters, while the diameter of the half-circle was more than a thousand meters.

Yan Fei was now standing at a spot about fifty meters above the magma. Other than the path that had brought him here, smooth, mirror-like cliffs surrounded him, leaving no other way out. In other words, apart from the entrance through which he had come, there were no other exits. Yan Fei had thought he was about to escape unscathed, but it turned out that this place was also a dead end. Moreover, it seemed he was heading towards Earth's core; otherwise, he wouldn't have encountered the underground magma.

Yan Fei felt somewhat disappointed. He began to carefully observe the terrain nearby, hoping to find a hidden passage in this place. Unfortunately, the cliffs were exceedingly smooth and lacked any hidden pathways. However, there were a few black stones floating on the magma below that seemed stable enough to stand on; other than that, there were no more footholds to be found.

In the tunnel behind, Tripitaka's pace in digging through the stone and dirt was increasing. Yan Fei was about to face Tripitaka directly. If he came face to face with Tripitaka, Yan Fei was undoubtedly doomed. Thus, Yan Fei activated his imagination, determined to find a way to avoid this possibility.

Yan Fei's first plan was to cause another collapse in the passage behind him, preventing Tripitaka from breaching such a long passage and forcing him to give up the pursuit. Unfortunately, he had only prepared one large bomb in his Universal Space, and he had already used it. If only he had another bomb, he could have destroyed the passage behind him completely and permanently blocked Tripitaka inside. But the other bombs in his Universal Space were too weak to destroy the passage, so Yan Fei reluctantly had to discard this plan.

However, when Yan Fei saw the few black stones floating on the hot magma below, he immediately had a new idea. He leaped down from an altitude of fifty meters towards the magma below and landed on the largest black rock. His plan was to use the few black stones floating on the surface of the magma to increase the distance between himself and Tripitaka, preventing Tripitaka from reaching him.

But what surprised Yan Fei happened next. He had imagined that the rock's temperature would be extremely high, but when he stood on the black sphere, he found it to be ice-cold, not radiating any heat at all. By all logic, a rock in magma would either be molten or scorching hot. However, standing on this black stone, Yan Fei felt incredibly cool and comfortable, and the surrounding intense heat of the magma didn't bother him at all.

Yan Fei curiously inspected the black rock beneath his feet, shocked to find that it was not the rugged rock he had imagined, but the surface of a black sphere. This black sphere floated in the magma, with only a tiny part of its surface revealed. That was why Yan Fei had mistaken it for a black stone.

Yan Fei touched the black sphere, completely unaware of the material it was made from. He then wondered whether it was a natural formation or man-made, possessing such incredible physical properties that it completely insulated against the transmission of heat from the magma.
