Chapter 1559: Chapter 607 Official Departure_2

Yan Fei glanced at Hong Jitong, let out a cold snort, and said, "Hong Jitong, once this matter is over, I’ll be sure to visit South Korea. Otherwise, people might accuse me of being impolite by not returning the courtesy."

Hong Jitong’s face revealed a bitter expression, but he didn’t respond, clearly showing he was intimidated.

In the time that followed, no other God-Level Expert arrived. As the gathering time approached its end, Tripiṭaka cleared his throat and was about to say something when suddenly a burst of birdsong echoed from outside the cave. A large flock of night birds, for some unknown reason, flew overhead, casting a multitude of shadows on the ground.

Yan Fei’s face suddenly showed a cold smile as he stepped forward, landing his foot on a shadow mingled among those brought by the night birds. The speeding shadow let out a muffled groan the moment Yan Fei stomped on it, as if it were alive.

Yan Fei applied more pressure with his foot. The shadow exploded, and a figure emerged from it, retreating rapidly to the other side of the cave, far from Yan Fei’s reach. Only then did everyone realize the figure hidden in the shadow was a curvaceous woman from the Middle East. She was none other than the Assassin Sect’s last survivor, Huo Shan, known as the Old Man of the Mountains. The enmity between her and Yan Fei ran as deep as the ocean, which explained why she launched a sneak attack on Yan Fei the moment they met.

The Old Man of the Mountains excelled in assassination techniques, including integrating her body into shadows, one of her signature abilities. Unfortunately, Yan Fei’s spiritual power had surged to new heights, allowing him to detect her concealed presence within the shadows. With just one strike, he had once again injured her, forcing her to retreat.

Severely wounded by Yan Fei in the past, her strength had significantly declined, and to this day, she had not fully recovered. Although she was eager to seek revenge, her powerless condition only led to exacerbating her injuries.

Leaning against the wall, the Old Man of the Mountains glared angrily at Yan Fei, who showed no reaction to her fury. Tripiṭaka, standing nearby, chuckled and said, "Mr. Yan Fei, I didn’t expect your strength to be as overwhelming as it is. It seems none of us here would be your match. However, even if you are truly invincible in this world, you shouldn’t go around making enemies everywhere. Otherwise, if everyone strikes back the moment they meet you, it will undoubtedly be troublesome, don’t you agree?"

While Tripiṭaka’s vitality was waning significantly, his cunning nature remained unchanged. Noticing Yan Fei’s growing strength, he heightened his vigilance against him and seized the moment to sow discord, attempting to direct everyone’s attention toward Yan Fei and constrain his actions.

However, Yan Fei was no longer concerned about Tripiṭaka’s provocations. He calmly stated, "My principle has always been: if people don’t harm me, I won’t harm them. But if someone insists on opposing me, I won’t hesitate to eliminate them all. The world is fair—no one is the inevitable protagonist, and no one is indispensable. Life goes on with or without anyone. So, if you’re not afraid of dying, feel free to try."

At Yan Fei’s domineering declaration, the other God-Level Experts exchanged uneasy glances. They were well aware that Yan Fei had been the last among them to attain God-Level status, yet his power now surpassed many of theirs, prompting some to regard him with a mix of awe and wariness.

The agreed-upon gathering time had now arrived, and no one else showed up. As of now, there were 14 God-Level Experts inside the cave.

Tripiṭaka said, "According to the data we’ve gathered, there are 17 God-Level Experts in the world. So far, 14 have arrived here, leaving three absent: China’s Duan Hongye and Gu Xiaolan, and the most elusive figure of all—the Headless Horseman. Captain China, what is your take on this?"

Captain China replied, "Duan Hongye won’t be coming because he died a long time ago. As for Gu Xiaolan, everyone here knows her situation. While she is a God-Level Expert, she has gone insane and vanished without a trace. Even if we manage to find her, she wouldn’t be of any help in our operation."

Tripiṭaka frowned slightly and said, "Duan Hongye is dead? That’s quite unfortunate. Let me ask the group—does anyone know the identity of this Headless Horseman?"

None of those present spoke up, indicating that no one was familiar with the Headless Horseman. Originally, there had been one more God-Level Expert from Russia, Somsolov, but his decision to foolishly pursue Yang Qi on Dream Island had resulted in his disappearance. Clearly, he had been dealt with by Dream Island. After all, everyone knew Yan Fei’s temperament; anyone daring to stir up trouble on Dream Island could forget about making it back alive. As such, no one bothered mentioning that brainless muscle-head.

Tripiṭaka coughed again and said, "Since the last two God-Level Experts are unable to join us, we won’t wait for them any longer. However, before starting this operation, I will thoroughly explain the plan to everyone."

Yan Fei suddenly interjected, "Wait a moment. How can you be so sure that all of the world’s God-Level Experts are accounted for here?"

Tripiṭaka replied, "This conclusion comes from cross-referencing intelligence amongst ourselves. While it’s possible there are other God-Level Experts in the world, we haven’t discovered them, and thus they can be safely ignored."
