Chapter 921 - 921 907 Resolving Difficulties
Chapter 921: Chapter 907: Resolving Difficulties Chapter 921: Chapter 907: Resolving Difficulties The Grasshopper Dragon charged down the mountain and ploughed directly into Xishan Gui’s group, biting anyone it encountered as if it smelled the scent of meat. Xishan Gui and his men, still unaware of what was happening and focusing their attention forward, were completely thrown into disarray.
Ye Chen watched the chaos from above and said, “You girl, you will definitely go to hell for being so cruel. Quiet and gentle as you seem, I would have never expected you to be so ruthless.”
“You’re one to talk. I told you to deal with it yourself,” Yang Tao’er retorted.
“No way. Just like this, charge in, take them by surprise and make them cry out for their fathers and curse their mothers.”
Howls resounded, shaking heaven and earth.
Liu Yunzhi in the valley was completely woken by the commotion. As the fight broke out partway up the mountain, he didn’t know what had transpired, but he was certain they were the target of an encirclement. He instantly became alert and quickly instructed his senior disciple He Fei to gather their people to prepare for a breakout.
Meanwhile, on another side, a large group charged over ferociously, led by Yin Jue. They were unaware of what had occurred on Xishan Gui’s side.
But knowing that Liu Yunzhi in the valley had been alerted, this was their last chance. They had to launch an early attack in coordination with the Third Demon following from behind.
Suddenly, they were under attack from both front and rear. Liu Yunzhi analyzed the situation and was sure it was an encirclement, though they had not managed to close in at the same time.
Jiu Jue, aware that Gao Ba had initiated encirclement mode and was also entangled with a monster, knew that the larger issue at hand was the priority. He said to Xishan Gui, “Xishan Gui, you manage the encirclement. Leave this monster to me to handle.”
Xishan Gui wished he could hack the monster to pieces, but with Gao Ba’s men launching the encirclement, he couldn’t afford to be an obstacle.
Biting the bullet, he led a group of men toward the encirclement.
Yang Tao’er was ready to release the Thorny Bat Dragon, which could breathe fire and was covered in spikes.
Wan Danrong, nicknamed Rong’er, ran back, announcing, “I’ve prepared Fireballs that won’t burn out.”
“Okay, wait for my signal, then light them and roll them down the mountain,” Ye Chen unsheathed his sword and said, “Let’s go.” He leapt and charged toward the middle of the mountain, striking precisely at Xishan Gui and his men from behind. As soon as he drew near, he unleashed a myriad of sword shadows in a furious assault.
Xishan Gui had thought it was just a monster, not realizing there was also a man involved, as Ye Chen’s martial arts had recovered to eighty percent of its strength.
With lethal momentum, he released successive waves of sword energy while simultaneously unleashing lightning and the Green Dragon.
This was indeed no ordinary sword; it seemed to fit him well. Ye Chen felt its power, which was like setting off a cannon.
He felt a sense of regret for only finding it now.
Like a tempest, he stormed into the valley.
Xishan Gui was utterly dumbfounded because he had just heard that Shangguan Heiqi had killed the Sect Leader of the New City Sect. How could Ye Chen be alive? He yelled, “Wasn’t this guy dead?”
A large number fell behind him.
Ye Chen quickly encountered Liu Yunzhi, who was still pondering who was helping them. Liu Yunzhi had already determined the direction for their breakout: right where the monsters had appeared on the mid-mountain.
“Sect Leader Ye, you’re still alive?” Liu Yunzhi was very surprised as well.
“Yes. The Demonic Beasts combined with the forces of the Third Demon pretended to attack Qingxuan City to draw you out. Their real plan was to ambush you here,” explained Ye Chen succinctly.
“I just realized that,” said Liu Yunzhi.
The attacks from the other two sides intensified significantly.
Ye Chen quickly advised, “The two girls outside can’t hold out much longer. You should follow me and break out this way without hesitation. Don’t dawdle. To my knowledge, their numbers are twice yours, and they could neutralize the two monsters outside at any moment. Once they’re free, you won’t be able to escape.”
The leaders understood Ye Chen’s intent.
“When the black smoke rises, we’ll make our breakout. Follow me.” Ye Chen cautioned them again.
As the Grasshopper Dragon was about to be pinned down by Jiu Jue’s team, Yang Tao’er immediately released the Thorny Bat Dragon, and Rong’er launched the indestructible Fireballs, which produced vast clouds of dense smoke combined with cow dung that was particularly choking and uncomfortable.
Several Fireballs exploded down like thunder, and the Thorny Bat Dragon swooped to attack.
Jiu Jue had rarely seen such a colossal creature, reminiscent of something out of an apocalypse, and was starting to feel overwhelmed. Just as they were about to get the Grasshopper Dragon under control, a fire-breathing beast appeared, causing him to become restless. He shouted, “Hey, don’t we have our own monster? Quickly release our monster!”
The few men with him were stunned, taking a long time to react.
Seeing several Fireballs producing smoke, Jiu Jue commanded, “You lot, come with me up there and capture those releasing the smoke. I want to see who’s being this despicable.”
Yang Tao’er had not yet had time to unleash the One-Eyed Scorpion when she heard footsteps coming up. She hurriedly grabbed Rong’er and said, “Girl, hide quickly. If they catch you, they’ll strip you bare.”
Carried away, Rong’er still wanted to release a couple more Fireballs, unaware that people were charging up.
The warning from Yang Tao’er snapped her out of it, and she followed Yang Tao’er into the dense woods to hide.
As expected, in less than half an hour, several ferocious figures stormed up. Fortunately, they ran quickly, or those men would have stripped her by now.
Billowing black smoke rose on the left, and the frenzied dragon roared. Ye Chen knew that opportunities would not wait for anyone. He shouted, “Alright, charge! We must break through.” Though enveloped in darkness, Ye Chen had memorized the surrounding terrain the entire night, confident he could lead those behind him to safety as long as they followed closely.
Xishan Gui managed to recover, but the appearance of a thirty to forty zhang tall monster that could spew fire threw their formation into disarray. With thick smoke rising, it was impossible to distinguish directions.
Ye Chen immediately seized the opportunity to break through.
Xishan Gui had some inkling of the young man’s intention but knew it was futile. Their formation was completely disrupted, and he couldn’t pull it together, at least not without some time.
Ye Chen, following behind the surge of his blade, made several kills, and in less than half an hour, he made a way through. The group trailing him promptly closed in to help, and the gap was ripped wide open in no time.
Jiu Jue wanted to come back to assist, but the situation was beyond control, even with a group by his side.
Ye Chen called out, “You folks, make sure to take control. Don’t let them close up the gap.”
Those underlings understood all too well that if the gap closed, it would be very difficult to reopen.
Ye Chen, leading a group, charged again towards the valley to help Liu Yunzhi and others shake off the pursuit of Ming Bei and Yin Jue.
Liu Yunzhi asked, “Is the gap open?”
“The gap is open, hurry, we need to retreat,” Ye Chen knew the danger hadn’t passed yet.
Soon after, Liu Yunzhi and his group released their fairy-demonic beasts and seized the chance to escape.
Ye Chen and Gao Ba fought a few rounds, but without lingering long, they hastened their retreat.
In less than one hour, most of them had escaped the siege.
Ye Chen covered their retreat.
Breaking free from the mountainside.
Yang Tao’er and Wan Danrong quickly emerged from the woods and followed Ye Chen and the others.
Boom, boom, boom…
Waves of powerful energy unleashed from the Moonlight Sword utterly confused those who were trying to pursue them.
Gao Ba was reluctant to give up, but facing the chilling energy, he was forced to quickly flee.
All was quiet, completely quiet, save for a few fires still burning.
Gao Ba and his followers were at a loss, their half-month’s plan undone as the duck they thought cooked flew away. Frustration gnawed at them, but what could they do?
Xishan Gui cursed, “Wasn’t that little bastard killed? How is he alive again? Truly a persistent nuisance.”
Yin Jue came running back, not continuing the chase any further.
Gao Ba was so furious he was at a loss for words.
Jiu Jue explained, “We had no clue when that kid and a few others had set their sights on us.”
Yin Jue, looking at the slain Grasshopper Dragon, said, “It’s been ages since I’ve seen such an ancient monster.”
Zun Yu said, “It seems that encircling them is becoming more and more difficult.”
After hearing this, Xishan Gui remarked, “They can run from the monks, but not from the temple. We’ll break their Qingxuan City and see what they can do then. We have more people now, and by banding together, we can easily break them.”
Ming Bei, after considering, said, “That’s something we can think about.”
“Their spirits are already crushed; they likely won’t go back to save Qingxuan City,” Yin Jue stated.
“Let’s loot their Qingxuan City first,” Xishan Gui said, venting his frustration without knowing where else to direct it.
Jiu Jue suggested, “After breaking their Qingxuan City and leaving them homeless, we’ll join forces with Sheng Kong and figure out a way to wipe out this group of people.”
“Send a pigeon message to Sheng Kong. We’ll join forces with them to break Qingxuan City, so let him wait for us. We’ll be there soon,” Gao Ba made a decision. He refused to believe he couldn’t handle Liu Yunzhi; even with the demon realm in such a state, he was confident he could handle him.
He looked to Zun Yu, uncertain of his thoughts.
Zun Yu replied, “Alright, I’ll make another trip.”
Ye Chen, having led Liu Yunzhi and the others to escape, was finally out of danger.
Only after making sure no one was following did they let out a sigh of relief.
Drenched in sweat, Ye Chen said, “Alright, everyone, take the time to rest quickly. We don’t know if they’ll still chase us, so it’s better to be cautious.”
Liu Yunzhi, seated next to Ye Chen, exclaimed in surprise, “Weren’t you dead?”
“Perhaps Heaven isn’t willing to let me die just yet. Maybe it’s because I still have some matters left unfinished,” Ye Chen replied.
