Chapter 899 - 899 885 The News of Ye Chens Death
Chapter 899: Chapter 885: The News of Ye Chen’s Death Chapter 899: Chapter 885: The News of Ye Chen’s Death The earth shattered and the mountains quaked with a tremendous explosion, leaving everyone in the dark about what had happened up ahead, followed by an eerie silence.
Longhun had ordered his men to escort the captured Guo Yuqing and Feng Nianmei down the mountain, anticipating a massacre by the Sea Demon within the city and to then rush in to clean up the aftermath. But then, the sudden blast happened, and before he could comprehend what had occurred, the pitch-black sky seemed to briefly light up, and then everything went quiet.
Mitra Monk hurried to the front to see what exactly had happened, as the voice of the Sea Demon also vanished. Some disciples who had been watching the front came running back, reporting, “We only saw Guo Mingyu charging at the Sea Demon with something glowing, then the Yin-Yang Tower emitted an energy beam towards him, followed by a huge explosion.”
Upon hearing this, Longhun immediately understood and said, “It must be the Spiritual Stone.”
Mitra Monk looked over and said, “The uncontrollable Spiritual Stone.”
“Yes, the uncontrollable Spiritual Stone.” He recalled that Ye Chen had half of a Spiritual Stone, which had almost killed him last time; he hadn’t expected Guo Mingyu to have such resolve, risking his own life just to kill the Sea Demon. This truly surpassed his expectations; it was not how he had envisioned things playing out.
Mitra Monk followed Longhun, charging into Demon Palace City, which had turned into ruins.
Most of the city was destroyed.
Mitra Monk said, “It seems they’ve already escaped through the secret tunnel.”
The shockwave had destroyed all systems.
Although it was a pity that the Sea Demon died, it had helped him break through Demon Palace City, a feat even more exhilarating than anything else, and it had also resulted in Guo Mingyu’s death.
A disciple came running up behind him, holding a message strip that was a pigeon-transmitted letter from Immortal City. Longhun took the message strip and read it carefully, revealing a slight smile.
Mitra Monk asked, “Is it news from Immortal City?”
Longhun handed the message strip to Mitra Monk.
Mitra Monk accepted it, reading softly, “It’s a pity they still managed to activate the seal.”
Slaughter Saint also read the message strip and said, “As long as Ye Chen is killed, with Guo Mingyu’s death, they’ll be completely headless dragons. Ren Xiongbei won’t be able to amount to much.”
Longhun said, “That’s right, Ren Xiongbei won’t be able to amount to much.”
Jing Po said, “We still have Shangguan Heiqi, who we can make good use of.”
Longhun continued to scheme, finally having broken the stalemate, completely shattered it, in fact. He did admire Guo Mingyu’s bravery, but even without the Sea Demon, he was certain he could annihilate the realm of Immortals and Demons. Nothing could stop him now; it was all just a matter of time. He said, “Mitra Monk, open the city gates.”
The evil doers of the Dragon Slaying Clan charged into the city with great fury.
The atmosphere was heavy with the stench of death.
Of course, the Demon Palace’s Ten Thousand Demons Tower was sealed. It wasn’t something they could easily unlock, but that wasn’t important. What mattered was breaking through Demon Palace City—something not even Longhun’s father, Mutant Winged Dragon, had accomplished. Now, Longhun needed to carefully consider how to methodically eliminate them all.
Demon Palace City had been breached.
Guo Yuyun found her mother, Xia Yue, who was also with a child. When Guo Mingyu didn’t show up, and unaware of what had happened, Guo Yuyun didn’t know how to break the news to her mother, even as her eyes were already swollen like half an egg.
“Where’s your father?” Xia Yue asked with confusion.
Guo Yuyun couldn’t find the words to speak.
Lou Xuancheng came out; they had reached the foot of the mountain.
“Lou Xuancheng, where’s your senior brother?” Xia Yue grabbed Lou Xuancheng.
Lou Xuancheng couldn’t bear to look at Xia Yue.
“Hurry and tell me, where’s your senior brother?”
“He perished together with the Sea Demon.”
As soon as these words were spoken, Xia Yue collapsed, and Guo Yuyun quickly embraced her mother. Lou Xuancheng ran over to help, someone carried down the child, and that was followed by a burst of wailing sobs.
Guo Yuyun couldn’t help it, and she too started crying.
The people of Demon Palace City were somewhat despondent, but Ren Xiongbei was not as demoralized, asserting, “As long as the Sea Demon is destroyed, we have nothing to fear from them. We can face them in a final battle.”
Ling Bo, however, knew it wouldn’t be so easy. A hasty showdown with Longhun was definitely not a good thing. They needed to stay calm for a while. After such an event, everyone was too shocked to prepare mentally, and they still didn’t know the exact situation in Immortal City.
Lou Xuancheng made sure the people from the Dragon Slaying Clan hadn’t followed them. By then, the sky had turned a deep grey; they were at the mountain’s base.
Lou Xuanhai asked, “Should we enter Unnamed City?”
Lou Xuancheng shook his head, saying, “No, Unnamed City is sure to have people from the Dragon Slaying Clan. If they find us, they might inform Longhun, directly endangering the people of Unnamed City. Isn’t there a small mountain village nearby? Let’s spend the night there and decide what to do tomorrow.”
Everyone needed peace; they all needed time to think things through properly.
So they headed towards the small mountain village.
Xuan Wen and Xuan Wu met Ling Bo, and Xuan Wen asked, “Brother Ling Bo, is there any news from Immortal City?”
As they were speaking, a subordinate rushed over with news from Immortal City, and at that moment, Ling Bo nearly lost his footing.
Xuan Si also arrived and happened to see the contents; at that time, Xuan Wen was still pondering that if Ye Chen could take care of the matters in Immortal City, return, and then join forces, they would have a final battle with the Dragon Slaying Clan, now without the Sea Demon. But then he saw that Ye Chen had fallen off a cliff.
Xuan Si was shocked, “What, Ye Chen fell off a cliff?”
This outcry was too loud, and happened to be overheard by Guo Yuyun not far away. It was as if her soul had returned to her, and she ran over, glanced at Xuan Si, and asked, “What did you just say?”
Xuan Si stammered, “I didn’t say anything.”
“You clearly said Ye Chen fell off a cliff.” She saw that Xuan Wen had a letter in his hand and immediately snatched it. She was taken aback and couldn’t stand on her feet, collapsing to the ground as Xuan Si hurried over to support her.
She kept shouting Guo Yuyun’s name, but Guo Yuyun had already fainted.
Su Zhanze would never have expected Guo Mingyu to die. He went to look for Longhun, whom had promised to release the people from the Immortal City Sect.
Qiao Haoyu exclaimed, “It’s all because of Su Zhanze, the traitor of the Xianmo Domain. If it weren’t for him, we would have eliminated the Sea Demon with the formation long ago, and there wouldn’t have been a Sea Demon wreaking havoc in the city, leading to this dire situation of the city’s fall.”
Ren Haotian glanced around, only to find that Su Zhanze had already vanished, and at this time, no one had the will to pursue this matter, as most were caught up with the deaths of Ye Chen and Guo Mingyu.
Night had already fallen.
They reached the small village.
Song Shuangfeng left Ling Jian to comfort the master and take care of the fainted Guo Yuyun.
Hu Nanyue and Lou Xuancheng came out of their sorrow, for they knew that these people still needed to be led by them to fight a decisive battle against the Dragon Slaying Clan. Today’s battle had already claimed the lives of many brothers, and they still had to carefully consider how to fight the Dragon Slaying Clan next. Many were still in shock and hadn’t recovered yet, and some were injured and unable to join the battle. They had to be arranged to go somewhere else.
Lou Xuanhai said, “We need to make arrangements, Xia Yue and the others can’t follow us.”
Hu Nanyue nodded in agreement and said, “Indeed, they can’t follow us.”
Lou Xuancheng was thinking that Shangguan Heiqi had already escaped; the seal was in place, but they still had to think about how to deal with Shangguan Heiqi later on, they might continue to cooperate with the Dragon Slaying Clan.
Lou Xuancheng said, “Xuanhai, you take charge. Tomorrow morning, take Xia Yue to Tianyue Lake.”
Tianyue Lake was the last refuge of the Demon Palace, with a labyrinthine array that made it hard to find. Such a thing had happened before, but that was a long time ago. Now, with no other options, they had to send them away first and then the remaining people would figure out how to deal with the Dragon Slaying Clan.
Lou Xuanhai nodded.
Hu Nanyue said, “The Sect Leader is dead, Ye Chen is dead, we need to think of a way to deal with the Dragon Slaying Clan next, as well as Shangguan Heiqi and the Tianye Demon.”
Lou Xuancheng clearly understood that they must discuss with the leaders of other sects, as they couldn’t afford any more mistakes now.
Hu Nanyue added, “We urgently need a responsible person to make unified decisions on how to deal with the Dragon Slaying Clan in the future.”
Lou Xuancheng instructed, “Hu Nanyue, call all the leaders here, let’s discuss.”
Hu Nanyue prepared to notify them.
At that moment, Song Shuangfeng hurried over, finding Lou Xuancheng and saying, “We’ve found the captives from Immortal City.”
Lou Xuancheng was somewhat disbelieving and asked, “Where?”
“Right under the mountain, in Unnamed City, guarded by a few people of the Dragon Slaying Clan, but not many.”
It turned out that Longhun, focused on capturing the Demon Palace, had ordered people to take Guo Yuqing and the others down the mountain, but they were followed by the Demon Palace’s spies all the way to Unnamed City, where they located their place of captivity.
Lou Xuancheng asked, “Have Longhun and his people gone down the mountain?”
“They probably won’t go down tonight. They’ll likely leave the Demon Palace tomorrow morning,” said Song Shuangfeng.
Hu Nanyue asked, “How many are watching over them?”
“Around a hundred or so.”
Hu Nanyue said, “Guo Yuqing is also there; this is our chance to rescue them.”
Disciples in the back shouted, “Rescue for what? It’s because of them that we helped the Dragon Slaying Clan breach our Demon Palace.”
Lou Xuancheng, of course, knew those were the irate words of his disciples, and he certainly couldn’t not rescue them, so he immediately said to Hu Nanyue, “Hurry up and call Guan Yi, Song Zheng’an, Ling Bo, and Xuan Wen here.”
