Super God Grandmaster
Chapter 890 - 890 876 Encircled

Chapter 890: Chapter 876: Encircled Chapter 890: Chapter 876: Encircled Ye Chen led his people into a fierce charge, and clearly, there was no need for second thoughts—the goal was to head straight to the Hell Tower and affix the Bagua Secret Talisman.

His arrival indeed swiftly joined forces with Fang Ziren, breaking through the obstructions set by Elder Xi Feng, and they started to approach the Hell Tower. However, the deeper they went, the deeper they fell into the trap.

A signal.

Suddenly, like rats emerging from underground, shadows darted out one after another from the dilapidated houses.

These were all hefty creatures, obviously not from the Dragon Slaying Clan—certainly released from inside the Hell Tower.

Ye Chen made a judgment. It was definitely a trap. He called out to Fang Ziren, urging, “Fang Ziren, we have to retreat quickly. This is a trap.”

Fang Ziren turned his head and saw a large group of dark figures aggressively emerging from both sides, heading toward him like ferocious beasts—like a flood sweeping over. He murmured, “Damn it, true demons of the Hell Tower.”

Ye Chen wanted to break out. The first place he thought of was the entrance, but before he could reach it, a group that had circled back from outside blocked them. Suddenly, like rats with their hole blocked, escaping became impossible.

Ye Chen fought his way forward, only to be met with a fearsome figure holding a large saber. The saber swung down and unleashed a powerful energy, a ferocious bolt of lightning that forced an unprepared Ye Chen back.

That person was Teng Yun’e. Glancing at Ye Chen, as if it hadn’t required any effort, he muttered to himself, “How easy.”

Of course, Ye Chen was not willing to give up—he needed to break out.

But Teng Yun’e stood before him, and clearly, they had come prepared. How could they allow them to break through after having blocked them?

The massive figures surged out, completely encircling them.

Fang Ziren looked at Ye Chen and, facing a force twice their number, said, “It’s that demon leader, Shangguan Heiqi.” He noticed the figure with the bull horns, carrying a hammer.

“Don’t panic, we must remain calm and get organized.” At this time, the most important thing was to stabilize the situation and not let chaos ensue, especially since Li Mo and the others were still outside.

Fang Ziren, too, regained his composure and said, “Right, Li Mo and the others are still out there. They will come to rescue us.”

The critical question was how to save them—if there were so many people, even if they came, they might not be able to do anything.

Ye Chen calmed down, knowing that panic was not an option. He advised, “Everyone, hold steady.” Only by staying calm could they find an opportunity.

Shangguan Heiqi was evidently the leader of those big brutes, all of whom obeyed him. The hammer that could unleash lightning came at them. Shangguan Heiqi hadn’t had fun in a long time and seemed to want to use this chance to flaunt his might before his subordinates.

Ordinary people could hardly withstand it. Ye Chen rushed forward swiftly—he could not allow this horned brute to treat the disciples of the Immortal Demon Realm like cockroaches to be smashed. Without a quick intervention, the disciples of the Immortal Demon Realm would surely collapse and lose control.

Before they even awaited rescue from Li Mo and the others, they would all be dead. Ye Chen hurriedly charged at the Minotaur, launching a bolt of lightning at the monster.

The hammer emitted a powerful shock wave—any Giant Beast charging at it would be helpless against the three-meter-tall Minotaur with a hammer weighing over a thousand pounds that could release lightning, reducing any monster to a puddle of blood without a chance of survival.

The Immortal Beasts, frightened by the massive hammer, kept retreating. The colossal monsters were scared backward, not to mention the disciples without iron armor. How could they withstand such a powerful impact?

Fang Ziren, preparing to show his skill, got blasted and flew back.

Ye Chen charged out—only he could take action now.

Red and blue lightning collided. Shangguan Heiqi remained immovable, still standing in his place, while Ye Chen was knocked back.

The red-eyed Minotaur let out a roar, like making a proclamation, as if to tell others that this was his domain, no one could challenge him—this was his territory. He also wanted to show his subordinates that he had emerged, and with an unrivaled aura, he had returned to the world of men.

Ye Chen was shocked; the hammer was formidable. A direct hit could kill him. After facing three head-on impacts, he was knocked back, clearly at a disadvantage. Ye Chen had to consider whether to engage head-on or to find another approach. No, a direct clash would not do; how many more times could he withstand a thousand-pound hammer? It was not a rational decision. He had to use his speed and agility.

Even if that hammer-wielder was agile, he couldn’t possibly be more agile than Ye Chen. Even if he couldn’t guarantee a victory, he could at least wear him down. When he got tired, that would be the opportunity.

Definitely, he had to dodge the brute force. Already trapped in the encirclement, he had not yet figured out how to escape, and Li Mo and the others could not arrive so quickly. Besides, he had instructed Li Mo—if they really were encircled, to not rush over hastily, they had to think carefully.

He looked around. The Dragon Slaying Clan combined with Shangguan Heiqi’s people amounted to at least a thousand men. How could he easily escape? Was he really going to meet his end here?

The Red Demonic Spirit became anxious and said, “In a bit of a bind now, aren’t we?”

Ye Chen answered, “Indeed, we’re in a bind. Don’t mention that, help me think of a way to escape from here.”

“Heh, Longhun must have designed this trap, knowing you would come back to fall into it,” the Red Demonic Spirit said.

“Of course I know that. Tell me, what should we do now?”

“Put down your sword and surrender,” the Red Demonic Spirit suggested, facing the towering adversary with martial prowess and overwhelming presence.

“Do you think surrendering will guarantee a good outcome?” Ye Chen retorted.

“At least he might like me better. I’m just getting a new master, but I don’t know about you, I also don’t know if that big guy will take a fancy to your pretty-boy face.”

“Do you have no conscience at all, thinking only of your own survival?”

“And you expect me to die with you, though I’m not your anything.”

“You rascal.”

The Sky-shattering Hammer came down again; Ye Chen dodged to the side, his movement as graceful as a bending willow, turning the hammer into carbon ash.

“You should have listened to Li Mo and let him in.”

“Hey, you’re becoming more and more cowardly.”

“Don’t talk to me about that, staying alive is what matters most right now.”

“Then think of something fast.”

“I have no idea,” said the Red Demonic Spirit.

Ye Chen, with a twist of his body, took advantage of the Red-eyed Minotaur’s lack of attention to release a lightning strike. A sudden thunderbolt aimed at its back, unexpectantly, a wave of energy emitted from its back the instant it was struck, swallowing up the lightning.

It was as though there was a protective layer, impervious even to a bolt of lightning.

“What’s going on? It even has a protective layer?” Ye Chen couldn’t quite believe it.

By that time, the Red-eyed Minotaur had turned around. Its hammer crashed down, releasing dozens of dark red lightnings, like the tentacles of an octopus; they attacked swiftly. Ye Chen, unable to dodge, unleashed a Light Wave. With a roar, the Light Wave exploded, and he was blasted into the wasteland.

Before Ye Chen could pick himself up from the ground, the giant leaped and came smashing down. It looked like he was going to be crushed to a pulp, but Ye Chen rolled and scrambled away like a jumping frog. Behind him, the Sky-shattering Hammer had left a giant crater, its powerful energy having swept Ye Chen away with it.

Ye Chen landed once more in a wasteland, but he had escaped calamity again.

“If only I knew, I would have brought a weapon,” Ye Chen murmured.

“If only you knew, you could’ve left an offspring for your family,” the Red Demonic Spirit added.

“Hey, you make it sound like I’m certain to die today.”

“What use are weapons? There are few that can withstand the Sky-shattering Hammer.”

“Perhaps the Dragon Slayer Sword could.”

“But you gave it up to the Immortal City Sect.”

“I didn’t give it up, okay? It was a deal,” Ye Chen quickly got up as the dense lightning followed him closely, whipping past him.

Ye Chen had to run for his life. The wasteland behind him was further ravaged into debris. It seemed as if it weren’t dilapidated enough and was being churned again, like tilling the fields. Once the energy subsided, Ye Chen confronted the dark red monster with a palm strike, blocking it with a roar.

But he was already panting heavily.

The Red-eyed Minotaur spoke, “The Sect Leader of the New City Sect seems to have no remarkable abilities. I still need to take action.”

Ye Chen was taken aback upon hearing this, not understanding what this meant. This creature had just emerged; how could it recognize him, know that he was the Sect Leader of the New City Sect? That was a real shock.

“How does it know me?”

“It seems to have set its sights on you,” sensed the Red Demonic Spirit, feeling a heavy murderous intent.

“It wants to kill me?”

“Who knows.”

“Prepare to die.” With a leap, the massive Red-eyed Minotaur hovered midair.

Ye Chen turned to see a wall blocking his path and quickly summoned a powerful energy, conjuring a Green Dragon. Like a sword, the Green Dragon struck the Sky-shattering Hammer.

However, the impact from the hammer was too mighty. The Green Dragon, like a giant, withstood only briefly before faltering. Ye Chen seized the momentary support from the dragon and immediately dashed to the side, narrowly escaping the Sky-shattering Hammer that devoured the dragon and came crashing down, surviving yet another close call.

“This guy really wants to kill me!”

“You think everyone’s like Fire Beauty, treating you so well.”

“Don’t mention her,” Ye Chen snapped, angered. With a leap, while the Red-eyed Minotaur wasn’t ready, he struck with both palms, shooting two bolts of lightning directly at the giant.
