Chapter 860 - 860 846 Rescuing Liu Yunzhi
Chapter 860: Chapter 846: Rescuing Liu Yunzhi Chapter 860: Chapter 846: Rescuing Liu Yunzhi Li Mo nodded and hurried off.
Guo Yuyun said, “It’s very likely that someone from the world of immortals and demons has encountered something.”
Ye Chen said, “Why do you always like to join in the excitement?”
“Hurry up and stop nagging,” Guo Yuyun ran into the room.
They rode their horses out of the village, and Ye Chen murmured, “Couldn’t we have waited until daylight to go over? What’s so good about the cold and ice?”
After crossing a small hill, it took them half an hour to arrive. Li Mo, who had arrived earlier, came running back and said, “The people from the world of immortals and demons have fallen into an encirclement by the forces of the demon and fiend realms.”
Guo Yuyun muttered, “I knew those people from the demon and fiend realms were up to no good.”
Ye Chen asked, “Do we know which sect they belong to? How many are trapped in the encirclement? And how many are there from the demon and fiend realms?”
“We don’t know exactly which sect is surrounded, but there should be more than three hundred people. The demon and fiend realms have over five hundred,” Li Mo continued, “They must have been prepared. They’ve fallen into someone else’s trap and are now under attack from three sides. If they don’t find a way out soon, it will be very difficult for them to escape the encirclement.” He drew on the map as he spoke.
Clearly, there was still some time until dawn.
Guo Yuyun glanced around and said, “We must rescue them now; if we wait until daylight, it will be even harder to get them out. The people from the demon and fiend realms cannot succeed.”
Ye Chen looked at the map intently; they had only about twenty people. Facing so many from the demon and fiend realms, they must rescue the group from the world of immortals and demons, but they had only one chance. He said, “Li Mo, go and find out more. See which of these three sides we can break through more easily and, most importantly, find out who is guarding them.”
Li Mo understood Ye Chen’s intention and hurried off.
Guo Yuyun said, “We could take them by surprise in the darkness. It’ll be much harder after it gets light.”
Of course, she knew using the cover of night was to their advantage; it would be more difficult after dawn.
“Even so, we are only about twenty people.”
“Don’t start thinking about running away again.”
“Hey, no matter what you say, you’re with me now. How can you distrust me so much? How are we supposed to live like this?”
Guo Yuyun snorted through her nose.
“Sometimes it really is necessary to act according to our capabilities.”
“Nonsense, ‘act according to our capabilities.’ You take the lead.”
“It’s better if you take the lead. I’m so weak,” he said.
They couldn’t wait until daylight to break out. Thinking this, Ye Chen looked around.
Liu Yunzhi was getting anxious. Attacking from both sides had no effect; it was as if they were specifically targeted. They let him strike, watching him jump around inside without giving him a chance to break out. At that moment, his anxiety began to rise.
He Fei was becoming anxious too, especially since dawn was approaching. They had charged several times and sent out distress signals, but if anyone was meant to help them, they would have arrived by now; he shouldn’t have to wait until this moment. Suddenly, he felt somewhat disheartened.
Yet Liu Yunzhi knew they couldn’t give up.
Xishan Gui was brimming with excitement, as if he had found a great opportunity for a massacre.
Before long, Li Mo had returned, pointing to three directions and saying, “Xishan Gui, Yin Jue, and Huan Huo are commanding these three sides.”
Ye Chen nodded.
Li Mo said, “It would be best to break through from Xishan Gui’s side.”
Ye Chen asked, “Why?”
“Because reinforcements from the other two sides won’t be able to arrive quickly. If we strike from behind them quickly, we will definitely open a gap. But if we start with Yin Jue and Huan Huo’s sides, the two sides are very close to each other; they will surely help each other. With Xishan Gui’s side, however, there are woods on both flanks. We can set a fire to separate them. If they want to help, they won’t be able to do so quickly.”
Ye Chen asked, “You’re saying Xishan Gui’s flanks are both woods?”
“Right, it should be easy to start a fire. We need to act quickly; the people inside won’t last much longer and could collapse at any moment.” Li Mo continued, “By the way, I’ve found out that the ones surrounded are Liu Yunzhi’s disciples from the world of immortals and demons. They probably also wanted to make their way to Demon Palace City.”
Guo Yuyun grew anxious, calling out, “Then what are we waiting for? If they collapse, it will be very difficult to organize them for a breakout.”
Li Mo shared the sentiment and said, “Yes, these people are on the verge of collapse. I don’t think Liu Yunzhi can hold out much longer.”
Ye Chen asked, “How many Crystal Beasts are we bringing with us?”
Li Mo hurriedly said, “When we left, Ling Bo actually gave us quite a few Crystal Beasts, at least fifty or sixty, all of them lively and jumping. They should be of use; I think there’s still a good chance. Xishan Gui might look fierce in his killing, but he’s actually quite stupid. Just give him a strong blow, and he’ll surely be disoriented. At that moment, we can tear open a break for Liu Yunzhi and the others to escape.”
Ye Chen still looked at the map.
Guo Yuyun was getting impatient and said, “Stop dawdling, Li Mo, listen to me. Let the Winged Dragon start a fire, cut off Xishan Gui’s contact with Yin Jue and Huan Huo, and we’ll strike from behind to rip open a break for Liu Yunzhi and the others to escape.”
Li Mo glanced at Ye Chen.
Ye Chen smiled and said, “Okay.”
She really was worried that Liu Yunzhi and his group would give up, after all, Liu Yunzhi was no Wan Shatong. “What’s there to dawdle over?”
For Ye Chen, what was important, apart from rescuing them, was to figure out how to shake off the people from the Demon and Evil domains. However, their concerns were valid; Liu Yunzhi and his group were about to collapse, and once they gave in, going out would be pointless.
There was some time left before dawn, and the mist was at its thickest, making it the perfect time to strike.
Xishan Gui, thrilled after thwarting several of Liu Yunzhi’s breakouts, clamored, “Tighten the encirclement! They’re about to collapse, and once they do, we can obliterate them and then attack Qingxuan Sect.”
As he was speaking, something happened behind him. A series of loud booms shattered the quiet, followed by burning in the woods on both sides, ignited by the Fireballs spat out by the Winged Dragon.
A subordinate ran back, yelling, “It’s the she-monkey.”
Xishan Gui shouted, “What she-monkey?”
“The New City Sect, the she-monkey we encountered before.”
“What? New City Sect? How are they here?”
The subordinate behind him shook his head and said, “I don’t know, but they’re definitely here.”
Damn it, people from New City Sect should have headed towards Demon Palace City; how could they appear here? Xishan Gui asked, “How many of them are there?”
“The fog is too thick to tell, but they’ve released over fifty monsters, and they’re charging towards us.”
Another subordinate behind him said, “Looks like there are quite a few of them. Last time, New City Sect came with more than two hundred people. We need to get Yin Jue and the others over here quickly.”
However, another subordinate reported, “They’ve set the woods on both sides ablaze; it’s unlikely that Yin Jue and Huan Huo can make it through.”
“Damn it, what are they up to?”
After setting the woods on both sides on fire and ensuring that Yin Jue and Huan Huo would not arrive any time soon, Guo Yuyun didn’t think too much. With about twenty people, teamed up with the released Crystal Beasts, they charged swiftly with considerable ferocity. Meanwhile, Xishan Gui’s focus was entirely ahead; he had no idea that someone was targeting them from behind.
Liu Yunzhi, unsure of what to do and struggling to control the situation, found the assault starting behind Xishan Gui.
Liu Yunzhi quickly called He Fei over and asked, “What exactly happened?”
He Fei reported back, “There’s an assault starting behind Xishan Gui. It seems someone is helping us break out.”
Upon hearing this, Liu Yunzhi immediately saw hope, seeing the woods on both sides of Xishan Gui in flames, he exclaimed, “Quick, break through from Xishan Gui’s side, someone is helping us. We must seize the opportunity.”
He Fei hurriedly organized troops, and the people inside the encirclement, seeing hope again, became active. He Fei said, “Hurry up! Someone outside is helping us. We must break through quickly; don’t blame fate for not giving us a chance.”
The terrified people, knowing that the Demon and Evil domains intended to exterminate them, suddenly saw hope and snapped out of their fear. With hope in sight, they obviously wanted to survive.
He Fei immediately organized a group. As soon as they could quickly form a unit, they could join forces, and if confidence returned, they would have stabilized the situation.
Suddenly seeing hope and a clear target, they chose to break through from Xishan Gui’s side.
Liu Yunzhi, seeing the mountains on both sides ablaze, took it as a clear signal telling them they should break through from Xishan Gui’s side.
Yin Jue’s people found Sheng Kong, who was also surprised to encounter New City Sect here. He quickly led a group to intercept them, but he soon ran into Ye Chen. Ye Chen delegated the matter to Li Mo. With Li Mo and Guo Yuyun leading, he went to confront Sheng Kong and Gao Ba.
At that moment, Liu Yunzhi and his people fought with reckless abandon, knowing that the opportunity lay right there; if they did not break out, they would die inside. Of course, they rushed madly. Xishan Gui, caught between attacks from the front and back, couldn’t hold on, despite Sheng Kong leading a few men in to assist. It was not enough.
It would take some time for Yin Jue’s group to arrive, while the Winged Dragon spat Fireballs.
The people with Liu Yunzhi suddenly fought like they were injected with adrenaline, attacking furiously without regard for their own lives. They soon created a breach in the encirclement.
Xishan Gui, desperately wanting to block it, failed to do so.
