Chapter 785 - 785 771 Ambush in the Immortal Demon Domain

Chapter 785: Chapter 771: Ambush in the Immortal Demon Domain Chapter 785: Chapter 771: Ambush in the Immortal Demon Domain Guo Mingyu felt that something was wrong, the scout he had sent out hadn’t returned yet. Quickly, he ordered, “Send someone up to take a look.”

The person who went up to check quickly returned and reported, “They’re not there.”

Song Zheng’an said, “It’s like they vanished into thin air! That’s impossible, I saw them before coming back.”

“It’s true.”

“Something’s not right, they might have been discovered and killed.” Guo Mingyu guessed they might not be coming back.

“Discovered and attacked by us?” Xuan Wu asked.

Guo Mingyu deduced from the strange occurrence that they must have been discovered. There was no better explanation.

Xuan Wu spoke again, “If they have found us, would they have changed their pass route?”

Guan Yi replied, “It’s possible. There could be other paths nearby we are not aware of.”

Yet, Song Zheng’an argued, “We’ve checked all around. There are no other routes.”

If the intentions of Longhun were so easy to fathom, then they wouldn’t be in this situation. Guo Mingyu felt a cold wind blowing at his back, causing him to break out in a cold sweat. They were certainly discovered, if that was the case, their plan was ruined. Especially now that the Dragon Slaying Clan had vanished, surely they wouldn’t fall for the trap. They were uncertain if there were other paths, but one thing was certain: wiping out the Dragon Slaying Clan in this valley was impossible.

“Let’s go, we need to leave this place.” That seemed the only choice. If they wasted more time here, the Dragon Slaying Clan might get ahead of them. They couldn’t let that happen.

Guan Yi nodded and said, “Right. If we’ve been found out, our ambush has failed. They won’t fall for our trap. Lingering here is pointless. We must move on.”

As they retreated from the ambush point, they heard commotion from behind them.

They did not know what had happened.

When they got a clear look, they saw a dozen huge monsters leading the Human-beast Clan charging towards them. They were ferocious.

Unbelievable, Song Zheng’an said, “This can’t be possible. We’ve been guarding the valley mouth. How could they have gotten by us first?” Anything he said now was useless; it was obvious they had fallen for a trap.

Seeing the Human-beast Clan charging towards them, with monsters leading the charge, Guo Mingyu hastily organized a counterattack.

The monsters, with the Human-beast Clan, abruptly burst into the crowd and a fight broke out.

An earth-shattering battle started, blood was shed everywhere.

Longhun and his men had been watching the Demon Domain group since dawn. They knew that bunch of blockheads from the Demon Domain had been watching them; they weren’t so stupid. Two hours earlier, they’d taken care of those idiots.

Jing Po smirked and said, “Fools hoping to find us would fall for our trap, daydreaming for sure!”

Longhun responded with a slight smile.

Jing Po asked, “Should we charge in and carry out a pincer attack with the Human-beast Clan?”

Longhun was well-aware the Human-beast Clan wasn’t their ally. They were dealing with the people of Demon Domain now, but it would be only a matter of time before they’d turn on them. He didn’t plan on being so foolish and responded, “Just let them fight. As long as they can’t break through, it’s fine.”

Jing Po nodded and said, “Don’t worry, they won’t be able to get through. Slaughter Saint is leading some men on the other side. There are not many, but with the Human-beast Clan engaged, they can add fuel to the fire at the right moment.”

Trust in Slaughter Saint was something Longhun had and responded, “Just be ready, I don’t want to get entangled with the Human-beast Clan later.” His interest was in the Demon Domain, he wouldn’t risk involving himself in this, not now.

“Alright, we’ll make our move once most of them are killed off.”

Longhun said, “Inform me of the situation in another two hours.” He headed towards the barbeque area.

Shi Xueqin followed closely behind, “Will they be able to break through?”

“That depends on Slaughter Saint,” Longhun replied, intending to let Slaughter Saint leverage the Human-beast Clan to enforce a blockade on the people of Demon Domain.

“Wouldn’t it be better if we besieged them?”

Upon hearing this, Longhun gave a wry smile and said, “I’d love to do that, but these Human-beast Clan members are not our pets. Assuming they don’t turn on us.”

Shi Xueqin found his logic reasonable.

Longhun added, “Don’t worry, let them fight it out. We’ll strike when it’s about time, adding to their joy.”

Shi Xueqin nodded.

“Did you sleep well last night? Did you dream about me?”

“I dreamt about stabbing you with a knife.”

Longhun looked at her and said, “I never knew you had such dreams.”

“It’s all your fault. If you hadn’t said those things, I wouldn’t have had such a dream.”

“It’s alright, eat something quick. We have a show to watch after.”

“What do you plan to do with them?”

“We’ll see once we’ve killed most of them.” For Longhun, the Wolf King’s Ring was of utmost importance. He couldn’t give a damn about the rest.

Before long, the situation ahead had turned into a raging fire.

Xuan Wu started to curse, “Damn it! Weren’t we assured that they couldn’t get through?!”

“Stop hesitating, let’s hurry and push through,” Song Zheng’an implored.

He was becoming slightly anxious.

But they had already been spotted by the Slaughter Saint, lurking in the shadows. Getting past him wouldn’t be that easy; a wave of chaos and carnage hit them, disorienting everyone.

Guo Mingyu was unwilling to give up. He wanted to charge forward, but they were blocked at the valley entrance. The inhabitants of the Demon Domain were proving hard to bypass.

Worried that the Dragon Slaying Clan might attack them from behind, Guo Mingyu quickly stopped Guan Yi and instructed, “Guan Yi, keep an eye on our rear, let’s not get surrounded.”

Guan Yi instantly understood.

Boom! Boom! Boom…

Fireballs were flying everywhere, turning the place into a smoking field.

Jing Po was thrilled. Last time, they had been savaged by rabid dogs, now, it was their turn. They wouldn’t miss this golden opportunity. Already rubbing their hands together in glee, they prepared to strike.

Jing Po instructed, “Remember, when I give the signal, you guys throw all your fireballs, don’t spare a single one.”

His subordinates nodded in agreement.

“Then release the monsters, and have them bite them to death.”

The subordinates once again nodded in agreement.

Guo Mingyu tried to break through the encirclement, but every time he got close to succeeding, a fireball or a monster would appear to block their way, forcing them back. This happened thrice in a row.

They had been marked by the Slaughter Saint hiding in the dark all along.

Song Zheng’an speculated, “It seems there are people from the Dragon Slaying Clan up ahead.”

Guo Mingyu subtly nodded in agreement.

Xuan Wu added, “If that’s the case, we won’t be able to break through.”

Song Zheng’an agreed, noticing that it had already been over two hours.

Song Zheng’an stated, “We shouldn’t stay here, wasting time battling these inhuman things. It’s pointless.”

If the Dragon Slaying Clan mounted an attack from the rear now, they would be in trouble.

The area where Guan Yi was stationed remained calm.

Song Zheng’an added, “It seems increasingly unlikely that we can break out from the front.”

Guo Mingyu agreed. It seemed meaningless to keep fighting here. He proposed, “Let’s leave these damned things behind and get the hell out of here.” With no better option at hand, escaping the perilous situation was all that mattered.

But before they could even reach the entrance of the valley, a barrage of fireballs rained down on them, courtesy of the Dragon Slaying Clan.

Jing Po sneered, “Enjoyed being bitten by the monsters last time, did you? I’m going to enjoy wiping you out.”

Guo Mingyu’s worst fears were coming true, but he couldn’t afford to fret over that now. Escaping was the priority.

“Think you can surround us? You’d have to be daydreaming,” Jing Po became more merciless, releasing an Iron Rhinoceros and various other monsters. He wished he could annihilate them all on the spot, viewing this as the perfect opportunity to make them pay.

Longhun watched from the sidelines, greatly enjoying the scene.

Guo Mingyu had no choice but to disregard the loss of life. He kept releasing monsters, even if it meant making slow progress. He knew the dire consequences of being wiped out and would not let that happen at any cost.

Whatever the case, the situation was critical. Even if the casualties were high, they had to break out.

“Damn! These bastards are going to suffocate us in here,” Xuan Wu wheezed.

Being assaulted by the rabid Human-beast Clan in the front and the relentless fireballs from the rear was intolerable. It was ridiculous to go from simply being surrounded to being completely boxed in.

Luckily, the back of the valley was rather wide, offering more escape routes.

Having entered the Human-beast Clan’s line, Jing Po felt exhilarated. “Send in two more monsters,” he ordered, gleefully.

In the midst of the surrounding forces, Guo Mingyu shouted, “Throw smoke bombs.”

With no better options available, he hoped dense smoke might give them some cover.

If they had at least one way out, things would be a bit more manageable. The Dragon Slaying Clan wouldn’t dare continue their siege then. The people who managed to escape could potentially help those trapped inside to break free as well.

Guo Mingyu decided to split the group into two. He would lead one group and Guan Yi would lead another, both attempting to escape simultaneously. They would use the large opening of the valley to their advantage as well as the tools they had prepared.

After a lot of effort, they managed to escape, barely avoiding death.

The group led by Guan Yi had already broken free.

Seeing that his plan had worked, Longhun was filled with satisfaction. The Human-beast Clan continued pushing outward. He didn’t want to provoke them. In case the escaped Guan Yi decided to attack, he quickly hid with the Dragon Slaying Clan.

The people of the Demon Domain and Xuan Clan had survived a close call, but the stubborn Human-beast Clan still didn’t let up. Guo Mingyu and his group had no choice but to lead them to a nearby spacious forest, where it would be easier to shake them off.

Once the Dragon Slaying Clan saw that the Human-beast Clan had followed Guo Mingyu’s group, they quietly crossed the valley.
