Chapter 746 - 746 732 Damn Monkey

Chapter 746: Chapter 732: Damn Monkey Chapter 746: Chapter 732: Damn Monkey Shen Shang said, “Isn’t that right? We haven’t violated any orders, and Sha Ying can’t blame us. We’re making choices for ourselves, we’re playing within our limits.”

Sha Ying, known as the Demon, is the most powerful demon of Kunlun Mountain. He is tasked with guarding the fourth ring, preventing outsiders from entering, and it’s necessary for the Demon God and the rest to obey Sha Ying.

Shen Shang had long lost patience, tired of the constant presence of the two women. “Chance like this doesn’t come often,” he said. “If we miss it this time, who knows when we’ll get another? We can’t miss such a great opportunity.”

Upon hearing this, the Demon God replied, “Since our third brother insists, let’s go along. Our target is to capture women, the more, the better.”

“Exactly. The more women, the better. Waiting for so many years has nearly killed me with loneliness. I’d rather not be stuck with that old crone anymore,” Shen Shang complained.

“Dare to call the fierce woman of your house an old hag? If she finds out, you’ll be in big trouble,” Gui Tu, the second-in-command, warned.

“Only if you spill the beans,” Shen Shang, who was already excited, called over several of his subordinates and said, “Got it?! Several parties are coming, keep an eye on whoever brings more women.”

In his mind, he figured he’d capture the parties with more women first.

The henchmen were equally thrilled by his plan.

“Got it! Women, you know what women are, right?”

The men hastily nodded. Women were scarce on Kunlun Mountain, and they seldom got to see any women as most were confined to the houses of the three bosses, or some secret places. A henchman nodded quickly.

“Don’t you mess up, or I’ll hack you to pieces,” warned Shen Shang.

The group hurriedly left.

Shen Shang was all set for a big operation, ready to seize such a golden opportunity, which was unlikely to come again anytime soon.

Gui Tu added, “Don’t be anxious. With so many people coming in, there must be a good number of women.”

“If they dare not bring in any women, I’ll blast them to death,” retorted Shen Shang.

“Take it easy. We have all the time in the world to toy with them.”

“Right, this is our territory. We should spread the word around and have some fun with them. Every woman who comes in, should be captured, not a single one should be let off,” he plotted.

One of his disciples asked, “Should we even capture old women?”

“Quite a lot of us haven’t even seen a woman, you fool!” Shen Shang retorted.

The disciple murmured his agreement, but inwardly, he wondered, ‘Aren’t all the women holed up in the houses of you three guys? What’s left for the rest of us?’

“Hurry up! Go prepare to capture as many as you can. You too might get some,” Shen Shang said, already excited.

The Demon God added, “Let’s do as our third brother suggests, don’t let any woman slip through. We’ll think about the rest after capturing them.”

Shen Shang was practically gleaming greedily, not knowing how many years he’d waited for such a wonderful opportunity. Now that the prey had arrived, all depended on whether they could catch any.

Something strange happened that day. The whole mountain seemed to be shrouded in fog, as if the entire mountain was soaring through the clouds, or like everyone on the mountain was ascending to immortality.

The front was hazy, limiting visibility to a short distance. Moreover, the woods had become denser.

The atmosphere was damp, and there was a lingering stench of decay. People instinctively moved towards the source of the descending energy.

They barely managed to bypass areas teeming with Winged Dragons after spending quite a lot of time.

Today they were at the border between the first and second rings where it was very quiet.

There was no wind, and it seemed even the sun was reluctant to show up, perhaps busy in an intimate moment with its wife.

Yun’er spit in disgust and complained about the godforsaken place.

Occasionally, the cries of beasts could be heard. Ye Chen was on high alert, wary of the surrounding area. He didn’t want to end up like the members of the Dragon Slaying Clan, who had met a dreadful fate.

Having come to the border, he wasn’t sure if he’d come across the Demon God’s clan.

Yun’er reassured, “Don’t worry. The Demon God and his minions aren’t interested in men like you.” She knew that many people had entered the mountain. If the Demon God decided to attack, he’d go after groups with more women. They can’t confront everyone. Moreover, she knew they weren’t the first ones to enter the second ring.

“If they target you, tighten your belt and make a run for it. I won’t stick around to keep you company,” Ye Chen replied.

“Tighten your own belt!”

“No problem, they aren’t interested in men. I’ve figured that out already,” he explained.

The quiet surrounding was unnerving. After all, they were strangers in a strange land with no map, only a vague sense of direction. They had entered the second ring and escaped the beasts, but they knew they were now in a more dangerous area.

There was no wind that day, and the fog hung thick like cotton candy in the small valley, as if trying to suffocate everyone inside.

Ling Bo came over, looked around, and said, “The fog is not dispersing. We are in a valley. We need to get out of here quickly, or else we’ll have to spend the night here.”

Hearing this, Yun’er immediately complained, “What? I’ve been suffocating here all day, and you want me to spend another night?”

Ye Chen laughed and replied, “Exactly, you don’t stink enough, so we want you to simmer here a bit longer.”

“This godforsaken place, I’ve lost all appetite.”

Ling Bo said, “Look, we can pass through the mountain waist ahead. Once we get past that, the fog won’t be as thick. At our current speed, we should be able to cross it before nightfall, barring any unexpected circumstances.”

Ye Chen nodded in agreement.

It was tough to predict what might happen at night in such a dense forest.

Ye Chen added, “Let’s make sure our people stick close.”

It was easy to lose one’s way here, and he didn’t want such an incident to occur.

Rest assured, I’ll keep them close,” Ling Bo responded.

“The most important one to keep track of is this girl. Everyone else will stick close, but I’m afraid she might get left behind.” Ye Chen glanced at Yun’er.

Ling Bo chuckled and stepped back.

Gao Ba and his followers had been wandering in the valley for the whole morning.

At this point, Xishan Gui was losing his temper, “Motherf—! Who’s leading the way? Are they cross-eyed or something?”

Encountering the river and having to reroute twice was testing his patience.

The following Yin Jue said, “We didn’t want this either. Who could predict that under the thick vegetation there would be rivers difficult to cross.”

“Listen, Er Gui, take this seriously. I really don’t want to spend the night here,” Xishan Gui replied.

“Alright, don’t worry. I’ll move quickly so we can get out of here,” Er Gui assured.

They dared not move too aggressively.

They feared arousing the monstrous creatures lurking nearby.

Yin Jue rubbed his forehead, “This fog is too heavy.” Initially, they thought the fog would be an advantage, concealing the movement of their large party. But, the fog was denser than expected, causing them to lose their way at any moment.

Sheng Kong, growing impatient, urged them to hurry.

Periodically, bands of monkeys would appear from the forest, their incessant noise nearly driving everyone mad as if they were deliberately mocking them. It made them wish they could set a huge fire and singe off every last monkey hair.

Suddenly, there seemed to be some commotion ahead.

Huan Huo narrowed his eyes at the scene.

After being tricked by the monkeys twice already due to this slow pace, Xishan Gui was annoyed. Both times he thought a monster had appeared, only to find those annoying monkeys instead. He grumbled, “It must be those damned monkeys again. Don’t just stand there. Let’s keep moving.”

Barely containing his frustration he said, “Once I’m out of this forest, I’m going to set it ablaze. Then we’ll see if they still dare mock me.”

With that, he walked ahead leading his men.

Suddenly, as if they had seen a ghost, the fog ahead dissipated. Around the next corner, an entire group appeared. It was Ye Chen and the New City Sect disciples. They were heading straight for each other.

Ye Chen was also taken aback as if he’d seen a ghost, confronted unexpectedly by figures from the demon realm.

Both groups were trying to squeeze onto the same ridge.

People on both sides were stunned, their eyes glaring at each other like a pair of lovers gazing intensely at each other. Ye Chen was likewise stunned. Strangely enough, those people from the demon realm, like him, weren’t shouting at all, but still glaring fiercely.

However, most of them had already drawn their swords.

Yun’er nudged Ye Chen, asking, “What should we do?”

“How would I know what to do? Maybe you could try negotiating with them,” Ye Chen suggested.

“I don’t want to fight here.”

“Neither do I. All I want is to reach the other side of the river so I can take a bath. I haven’t bathed for three days.”

“And you’re still thinking of taking a bath?”

After hesitating for a while,

Ye Chen saw that the others seemed to have no desire to fight, so he waved his hand, indicating his people to retreat.

The figures from the demon realm were of similar mind; it seemed nobody wished to fight. They knew attracting the attention of the surrounding monsters could mean disaster, not to mention they were all starving, with stomachs already empty.

Sheng Kong waved his hand, signaling their intention to retreat.

But then the monkeys went wild, their sudden screeching startled everyone into drawing their swords. Assuming the others were about to strike first, they reflexively pushed forward into battle.

No one could bear the consequence of restraint. Defensive or not, engaging the demon realm first ensured no disadvantage.

Instantly, the two parties charged each other like two intersecting floods. In a blink of an eye, the factions were exploring confrontation.

The damned monkey mob scattered in all directions causing a commotion.

At this point, no one could control the situation. Whoever retreated would be stabbed. So everyone charged forward, with the remainder hacking away as if chopping watermelons.
