Chapter 723 - 723 709 Release of the Raging Wolves

Chapter 723: Chapter 709: Release of the Raging Wolves Chapter 723: Chapter 709: Release of the Raging Wolves Xuan Wen voiced his worries, “Our men have searched around for over half a month, but there’s no trace of the Dragon Slaying Clan members. There is nothing to be found. It’s most likely that they are not on the surface but underground.”

Xuan Si became shocked for a moment then shook his head, saying, “Didn’t that narrow path get destroyed a long time ago?”

“It was destroyed, but it can be reopened. As long as we have enough people, we can re-establish the passage. It’s not a big problem,” Xuan Wen calculated the time. It’s been quite a while since Longhun left. If those people stayed, they’d be spending these days reopening the passage, a prospect that Xuan Wen found unnerving.

“No way. Maybe Mitra Monk and Mo Ku just left to do other things,” Xuan Si didn’t want to believe this fact.

“Yes, this is just a concern. But what if it’s true!”

Xuan Si was at a loss for words, he said, “That Longhun is too cunning. He chose to leave on his own, while attracting others there.”

“You don’t need to worry. We are not certain yet and it’s not urgent,” Xuan Wen was only speculative about the situation.

Xuan Si began to grow anxious.

Currently, the most important thing was to figure out the situation.

“Don’t worry, perhaps they won’t be so quick.” All he could do was hope for this.

Xuan Qian knew the exit was located beneath the valley, there was a large cave entrance hidden behind a waterfall, very secretive, and the cave was a nest of bats. Ordinary individuals would not go near the place, even hunting dogs would be repelled by the stench. He hurriedly led his men over.

He began to panic, praying that they would not arrive too soon.

His mind was full of prayers.

Mitra Monk and Mo Ku had already spent over half a month underground.

Mo Ku said, “The surface should be just above us.”

Mitra Monk glanced at him and asked, “Are you sure it’s right above us?”

“According to this map, it should be above us,” Mo Ku indicated Demon Valley on the map.

“Then start digging quickly. Don’t just stand there. Hurry up and break through.”

Just then, a disciple rushed in saying, “Not good! The people from the Xuan Clan are coming.”

Upon hearing this, Mo Ku was stunned for a moment and murmured, “Could we have been discovered?”

Mitra Monk asked, “Who’s coming? And how many?”

The messenger answered, “It’s Xuan Qian. He’s with Xuan Wu, and over a hundred others, and they’re moving in our direction.”

“It seems they have become suspicious,” Mo Ku said.

Mitra Monk then said to Mo Ku, “Mo Ku, you must find a way to stop them. I’ll prep the explosives now and blow this place open.”

Mo Ku nodded, immediately understanding.

“Once I have opened the exit, you return here.”

“Understood.” Mo Ku led a group of men towards the portal.

Panic-stricken, Xuan Qian arrived wanting to take a look inside the cave.

Suddenly, several fireballs flew out from inside, bombarding them. Xuan Qian quickly pushed away his subordinates and unleashed several energy barriers.

A dozen monsters charged out of the cave.

Xuan Wu commented, “It seems Xuan Wen guessed right. They really intend to enter the valley through this secret tunnel.”

Xuan Qian, already healed, immediately unleashed several energy attacks. Xuan Wu also went forward to assist. Their plan was to swarm in, but the cave mouth would only permit a limited number of people. A dozen people, attacking the side walls or the falling rocks from above, would already be enough trouble.

Xuan Wu planned to lead the charge inside.

But Mo Ku emerged from inside.

Xuan Wu was shocked, saying, “It seems Mitra Monk is inside, too. Senior Brother Guo’s worries were not unfounded.”

Xuan Wu tried to force his way in but was repelled.

He had to watch for falling rocks from both sides, and the big monsters blocking the entrance. Fireballs flew out from inside at any time.

Xuan Wu asked, “Clan Chief, what should we do?” He couldn’t seem to force his way in and had no idea about the situation inside. He wondered if they had already reached the valley.

These past days, Mitra Monk and his companions had been hiding there without coming out. They were in a sealed space, eating fish drifting in from the river.

Xuan Qian was so angry he couldn’t speak. He yelled, “Bury them alive.”

Upon hearing this, Xuan Wu immediately became excited, saying, “Right, since we can’t get in, they mustn’t get out.”

Under Xuan Qian’s leadership, they unleashed energy to attack the cave ceiling and the walls on both sides.

After several bursts of energy, the ceiling of the grotto couldn’t stand it anymore. Rocks started to fall.

“I’ll make sure none of you get out. Want to sneak through caves, right? Stay in there forever,” Xuan Wu was increasingly agitated.

Mo Ku quickly led his men back. In no time, the grotto’s entrance was thoroughly sealed.

When the dust settled, Xuan Wu went up to investigate, then jumped down, saying, “It’s sealed off completely. They won’t be able to get out.” He seemed a bit overjoyed.

But suddenly there was a loud noise. It was coming from the valley on the other side and thick smoke was billowing out from the forest on the opposite side.

Xuan Qian cried out, “Not good!”

Xuan Wu was startled, wondering if they had already broken through.

Xuan Qian yelled, “Hurry back, now!”

Mitra Monk knew that the Xuan Clan had discovered them. They had no other choice now but to take a gamble – that Mo Ku’s estimation was not wrong. He lit the explosive, and with a bang, a massive hole appeared on the ground.

Xuan Wen never anticipated things would happen so quickly. As he was preparing the manpower to inspect the seal at the back, a tremendous explosion rang out from the other side.

Mo Ku came running, reporting, “The path to the back is sealed.”

Meanwhile, light was breaking in from the front, directly illuminating the interior of the cave.

“Hurry up, get out quickly.” Mitra Monk led his men, running out all at once. Sure enough, he was already in the city of Xuan Clan, and Mo Ku flew also out with him.

In no time, hundreds of people, like crickets, swarmed out from within.

Behind them, Xuan Wen led his men to charge in.

Mo Ku glanced ahead, saying, “Tomb… Tomb…”

Mitra Monk also saw it, he cried out, “Mo Ku, you hold them off, I will unlock the Seal as quickly as I can, you must hold them off at all costs.”

Mo Ku nodded in agreement, saying, “Don’t worry, leave it to me.”

He figured that Xuan Qian would not be able to return so quickly, and he still had hundreds of men who could hold them off for a while.

Perhaps it was fate. Mitra Monk didn’t want to resort to this plan, he had wanted to use the cover of night to scout ahead and confirm the tomb’s location.

Xuan Wen hadn’t expected them to arrive so quickly, much faster than he had anticipated, but he was aware of the danger.

He quickly rallied his men to strike back.

Xuan Si also joined in to help.

Mitra Monk had already led a dozen or so people off towards the spot of the tomb Seal.

Xuan Wen was so frantic that he no longer cared about anything else. Rushing into the fray with all his might was not simply about numbers. Although they had more men, defeating these invaders would take time – the very thing they were dreadfully short of. Any moment now, Mitra Monk could unlock the Seal.

What could they do? There seemed to be no better plan.

But Mo Ku knew, he only needed an hour, and then everything would be resolved.

Xuan Wen’s men surged forward.

Xuan Si came to help, but the Dragon Slaying Clan had already released their monsters, barricading their path.

Mo Ku roared, “Release all the Beast Type monsters.”

Suddenly, huge monsters of all kinds were blocking their way, forming a wall. The only thing that could bypass it was the Winged Dragon, but the Dragon Slaying Clan had also released their own Winged Dragons. The incoming Winged Dragons posed no threat.

What to do? No one knew, they could only desperately charge forward, hoping to break through and block them.

Mo Ku yelled, “Hold them off, make sure to hold them off, anyone steps back, I’ll cut him down.” He knew the tomb had been located.

Xuan Wu was also getting anxious, ‘how could this be happening so fast? It’s impossible, it just can’t be.’ But at this point, it didn’t matter what he said.

Xuan Qian wished he could fly, to rush out immediately. Something must have happened in the valley.

Mitra Monk looked at the tomb, crying out, “Blast it open.”

BOOM!!

The tomb door had been blasted open.

The Seal was inside.

Xuan Wen, too anxious to care about anything else, could only shout, “Release the Winged Dragons, bomb them, bomb the tomb!”

He prepared to fly over, but was held back by Mo Ku. At this time, having more men didn’t matter.

Mitra Monk stared at the rock covering the Seal.

The disciple behind him voiced his doubts, “Could it be a fake?” Given the last mishap.

With a swift palm strike, the Seal stone shimmered with sporadic flashes of lightning.

Mitra Monk could feel the energy released from above; shaking his head, he said, “No, it’s real.”

A fireball from a Winged Dragon flew in.

The tomb door was blasted into pieces. As they prepared to rush in, Mitra Monk repelled it by his palm, shouting, “You guys, go deal with those monsters,”

His subordinates exited the tomb.

Mitra Monk looked at his remaining companions and gave a nod of approval.

The few of them understood what Mitra Monk meant.

They formed a triangular formation.

Mitra Monk led them, releasing a wave of energy towards the Seal.

At first, the Seal retaliated with lightning in defense, but all this was within Mitra Monk’s expectations.

Soon they suppressed the energy bursts from the Seal. At that moment, Mitra Monk swiftly drew a talisman, a Seal-breaking chant, and with a “whoosh,” it struck the Seal causing an explosion.

A shock wave surged out, flinging Mitra Monk away. Following the loud bang, the Seal vanished. Immediately after, the ground shook violently.

The entire mountain was shaking, with the howls of the Raging Wolves echoing continuously.

Xuan Qian had just returned to the valley.

The mountain shook more violently, and the howls of the Raging Wolves were incessant.

Xuan Qian was taken aback, feeling the ground move beneath him, “This is bad, the Seal has been broken.” All fighting ceased abruptly.

Xuan Wu didn’t know what to do, he asked, “Chief, what should we do?”

Xuan Qian replied, “Stop fighting, prepare to leave immediately.”

Xuan Qian rushed into the midst of the battle and pulled Xuan Wen out.

The tomb has cracked open like a blooming flower.

Something was stirring below, like underground crickets trying to crawl out. But they weren’t crickets, they were gigantic wolf-headed humanoids. Their dirty bodies were a dozen feet tall, each with a huge gaping mouth, red eyes, long claws, and they howled long and mournfully.

Mitra Monk grabbed Mo Ku, yelling, “Let’s go!”

At this point, the Xuan Clan couldn’t care less about the Dragon Slaying Clan. Their attention was fully on what was emerging right in front of them.
